Hey general manager our brand new 5th wheel has been in the shop for 19 days to fix the squeaky floors that y'all say don't squeak!

Got my mountaineer edition since 2007, ripping out the carpet in the moment, had to change the floor in the bedroom slide out and the roof of the big slideout. Now I got rain water coming trough the small slideout in the living room. Oh and I got problems with the 12V electric. My biggest problem? I live in Europe and haven't got any warranty although I brought it new in the states...

As a retired tradesman who can turn his hand to a lot of things I would build my own RV for a quarter of the cost if I was a bit younger. Then I would know it was done properly!

1:27 to start with, i would use concrete plywood instead of this cheap and crappy chip board. Or what is even better imo, are PE plastic boards because they just can't rot.

At the end if your video it shows wiring going threw metal roof frames, should there be any protection from the wires rubbing on the metal ?

Could be wrong but it looks like they only welded one side of the aluminum squares on the floor where they meet another?

Sure as hell didn't use enough screws on that floor. Was he nailing into aluminum? Arctic Fox. Hands down one of the best built.

i have to admit that this construction is one of the better ones from what i have seen. although i still don't agree with osb floor and roof sheathing... and no grommets on the trusses for the wiring..
@williamsimon4734
@williamsimon4734 11 лет назад
I am with snowdog on bs with osb. The glue is resistant but the osb will suck up water and turn to saw dust much more rapidly than plywood. This is part of the reason why plywood is more expensive. I was very interested in the Montana until I did a factory tour, nobody there speaks English and if you pay attention you will learn a lot.

"because I'm the general manager, you have my word on it." OK. Who is the "general manager"? Name and current specific title please. Your word on it? Please provide the specifics in writing here. Honesty and standing behind your product and it's reputation goes a LONG way with buyers of expensive RVs that some of us plan to live in. This goes all the way back to all of the Montanas that were ever built. Quality? That should stand the ultimate test. The test of time. Step up to the plate now and show us what is the current word on it. I'm sure most RV buyers would pledge their support in an honest quality product.

Something about that bundle of wires running through the roof trusses UNprotected???
@ScottDLR

Why dont they use the same one-piece stuff they use on the floor, on the roof? Looks like it's just a thick and it would sure make the assembly stronger.
@robertbutler8004

Scott DLR I would say that a one-piece roof ply would not form to the shape of the trusses!!

@KlipschHead281
@KlipschHead281 7 лет назад
At least they gave you one, mine was supposed to have one, it wasn't there or wired and when I heard how bad they were I told them fine, like a moron that should have been the sign. I'm sure it can be fixed but those remotes were plagued with problems and as you can see nobody from Keystone responded to you, it's like that for real as well, they simply do not care.

Forgot the radiant tech on the walls. Have a 2017 3820fk. The heat transfer is ridiculous. Everywhere there is framing there seems to be zero insulation. The RV might as well be a green house with all the heat that comes in from the front window and skylights. Running 2 ac's full time all day can't keep this hot pos cool.

@philbert8423

@@xchemicalXladybugx I think that concern is rightfull! Who really wants to take any chances of having a fire because of this poor craftsmanship...or just a short and then you have to open up the entire roof to find the faulty wire cut by this aluminum no so sharp edge...?

F.Y.I.: i own the 2014 KEYSTONE 299RET travel trailer. montanas little brother. same roof trusses. "ALL" openings are machine rolled smooth like the tops of a soda can (no sharp edges). also, not mentioned in the video the 2"x 3" aluminum floor joists are 12" on center, not 16".

Unfortunately they missed their “superior quality” efforts with our 2013 Hickory Edition 3150RL. We complained about the roof staples/nails poking up into the rubber roof for months until “Keystone” conveniently postponed any repair efforts until the warranty had expired. After having this repaired at our cost, the “authorized dealer” tried to convince “Keystone” this was a poor factory assembly issue but, they were also ignored. Consequently we can’t recommend “keystone” nor will we ever purchase another “Keystone” product do to their poor customer support and service.

My 2013 Montana 3725rl is the biggest pile of crap I have ever owned. Keystone offers a 1 year warranty and the season is 6 months long giving very little time to find out that somebody left building scraps in the holding tanks, the main AC unit died during warranty but not discovered until after, who cares right, too bad so sad should have lived in it and used everything during the 6 months morons! The tank valves, bound up to the point they couldn't be used, the black tank leaked season one and season two, imagine the fun we had with that stink 'eh? Too bad so sad pay up! The front LED's, last a lifetime right? NOPE made in China not even one friggin season!! Replaced each season, not bothering anymore, we simply won't use them.The landing jacks, leaked and made popping noises, 3k in repairs in season two, more repairs season 3, staples nearly popping through the cheaptastic rubber roof, Keystone, oh that's NORMAL!! Main room slide ripped the tiles because some genius drove a screw too far through the slide floor, the kitchen counter cracked, why who the hell knows!! IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET do a lot of research!! As for the general manager, ignore his word, they have no word they DO NOT BACK UP THEIR RV's!! I can post all documented issues and back and forth between the dealer and Keyston and my attempts at getting this POS fixed. We are going on season 4, we can't wait for the season, we have zero interest in camping because of the RV, when we can we are going to sell that pile of crap and go to a pusher. While the 3725RL LOOKS nice, wrapping a turd in nice clothing doesn't stop it from being a turd, avoid the turd.

Bought one that did not have a secure outer siding...made multiple calls and they would not stand behind their product even though when it was installed you can see where it is missing 14 screw holes that were only half screwed in. I called for several managers and they just say it could not happen. I verified with the previous owner and the company that has done all repairs on the RV and both state this panel was not installed. I would not buy anything from this company they do not product a quality product and they do not stand behind their poorly made produce. I just paid almost $3000 for a repair I should not have been responsible in my opinion.

Who the HELL is upvoting this??? THESE RIGS ARE PILES OF JUNK. Did none of you see the wiring and cables rubbing on raw metal edges? The shoddy construction methods? Anything? I'm convinced the only people buying these rolling recycling bins are the same people that pay an electrician $120 for a service call to replace a 43 cent wall switch.

so much wrong here...not with the coaches but with you idiots commenting...makes one wonder how u have survived life and the need to problem solve,lol.....the only mistake in a montana is the soft underbelly,this is why u get rodents....if u simply upgraded to a solid underbelly i would purchase a new one in a heartbeat,as a matter of fact just put in a offer for a 3400rl if they will install a hard underbelly...you could spend another 25000 dollars on an arctic fox coach and still not have something as nice as the montana line....

@KlipschHead281
@KlipschHead281 7 лет назад
Your Cougar Lite has what to do with a Montana? What does one experience have to do with any Montana? You love in Montana, ok, ahhh what?? I'm guessing you mean you LIVE in Montana and you were able to stay warm, ok, great, does the fact you live in the State of Montana have any bearing on the RV model Montana, no, not even a little. I'm glad the model of RV you bought is a well made couch for the money, what it has to do with any Montana is anybody's guess. I know a lot of people in one campground alone who will never buy a Montana again based on their experience, not some guy on RU-vid who can't even put a sentence together calling people whiners for not having exemplary experiences like he has had in a rig that has nothing to do with Montana's. People post about what they experience, people who are going through hell with their rig don't deserve to be called whiners, you have zero clue about what you're talking about. Do me a favor, if you're going to judge people, trying not sounding like an idiot while doing so.
