The thing I love about 'the clock game' was(and the producers had to do this, or the game would not have been feasible) that once you narrowed the range down(ie, you said 5,365 and Bob said Higher and then you said 5,400 and Bob said Lower) then all you had to start doing was adding up from 5,365 by saying '66, 67, 68, etc, until you got the right price...you didn't have to say the full number(ie, 5366, 5367, 5368 etc)... it was common sense, everyone knew what was going on, brilliant.

That's one of the rare times that TPIR had a car on the clock game, at least you didn't have to do the whole thing, just the hundreds of dollars

I don't think they've ever tried doing four digit prices for Clock Game since (that general time frame)...hence why they did the $1000 bonus a couple decades or so ago and now the bigger middle prize is included if you get both smaller ones. Tip: For the second prize, make your first bid $999. It nearly always is that or really close.

This was the last episode aired on GSN in 2000 before the lost the rights to the show. Very sad it's been 21 years.

April 3, 2000, to be exact, Ben. And furthermore, it's been nearly 22 years since Game 🎯 Show 📺 Network lost the rights 👉👉▶️▶️ to THE PRICE IS RIGHT ▶️. Let's just hope 🙏 that Game 🎱 Show 📺 Network loses the rights 👉👉▶️▶️ to the 1973--82 version of MATCH GAME 🎯, 🆗?

Season 12 Price is Right. Air Date Thursday February 9th, 1984. Contestant Kristine Kelly plays Clock Game. With 3 seconds remaining she won both prizes!! Interim Model Janice Baker filling in for Holly Hallstrom. Janice Baker did some episodes during January & February 1984.

Unfortunately, the current regime refuses to use 4-digit prizes like here because they claim it's "too confusing" - despite the fact they were giving the first digit. Playing for these kind of prizes would allow this game to be played a little more often..

And also a bittersweet sad day when GSN lost the rights to this show after this episode aired back in 2000 (I'm sure a lot of fans were not happy about that and we thought well one day they'd air it again but then after a few weeks we gave up). Yes they did air some later seasons (mainly Season 15 and 20), but it was like a contract can only go for so long. At least the good news is the reruns have come to light again and we're seeing stuff that we haven't seen in so long.

GSN really has been taking such a big turn with how they owned rights or they lost rights, based off of what reruns that were able to be shown on the network. 🙁

Those were the days. I watched this program faithfully in my younger years through out until bob left and it really wasn’t the same. Every now and then I come across the program but not much anymore. CWA

They did have a car as the bonus prize for winning both prizes a couple of times in the Drew era. In 1998, the Barker era added a $1K bonus for those who won both prizes, since playing pricing games for less than $2000 in swag probably seemed "cheap" by that point. They dropped the $1K bonus and added the bonus prize a couple years into the Drew era, I think.

Bob Barker made TPIR the best gameshow and daytime show ever! Up untill he retired, TPIR's Nielson Ratings ruled over everything else. But not anymore! Drew Carey has changed the show, is games, and culture, that it has sunk to #5! 😢

Somehow today,so many would be confused with this concept. If you said car is between 13000 and 14000, to get them to know to say 299 or 596 for 13299 or 13596, they'd be lost. Common sense declined

When Bob Barker was host the show was great to watch, but still nice Drew Carey took over it has gone down hill very fast. Get Drew off the show as host and it made ght go back up.
