Really liked your video thank you, especially the bit where you displayed the exposure of the sidewall. You've helped me understand further how pressure in the tyre can control tread exposure, hence performance, hence puncture risk.

My luck is vary running the continental tires tubeless. Last year the I had a pair of cheap 26x2,4 X-Kings and they were fine but now I have pair of 27,5x2,2 Race Kings (puregrip) and they are losing air through the sidewalls overnight. I had Mountain King II and Race King both the light RaceSport versions those are impossible to seal. The Protection is the safest bet for tubeless.

+LoveMTB So far Maxxis is the best for me but I had no trouble setting up tubeless the Geax AKA and Saguaro tires. Last year's Schwalbe was also OK as I could run tubeless the cheap performance version of Rocket Rons but lately I bought a pair of Hans Dampfs and they are leaking through the sidewalls. One of them still sealed properly but the other one is unpredictable and loses the air frequently. I think Schwalbe wants to make sure that you will have to buy the more expensive versions if you want to run them tubeless.

Ive been doing atleast 200km long ride every sunday and atleast 30km daily to and from work using race king since I love the rolling of it , works fine ish but since im a bit of an agressive rider the threads on it wears a bit quickly but overall they are great tires . Been using those for 6mo now and switching the tires from front to back adn vice versa monthly thread wear is even and nice but its fast ...

I run a Race King Protection up front and a Speed King in the back, probably the fastest rolling setup I have ever had, really sketchy though in the wet. Mostly ride hard pack trails as my body just cant take the the beating anymore from rooty rocky stuff.

LoveMTB everyone runs Maxxis over in the UK where I come from. Continentals are so underrated, they are sold as budget tyres here in the big bike stores that produce lots of low quality bikes. Can usually pick up the tyres dirt cheap.

I have the 29" folding race king. Very light and fast, but after about four weeks of use it spring about a dozen pin hole leaks. The dreaded wet spots all over, using stans tubeless fluid and glitter even. There's no point if you need tubes becaue now it weighs half again as much.

@@LoveMTB well I’m currently riding a 23 supercaliber with the xr2 front and rear. 20psi front 23psi rear. The tires handle great but I want to try something new. I do the occasional race between 10-25 miles with the occasional 50mile events. I do ride the bike as hard as I can and I do push it through rock gardens and such. I was looking at the pirelli scorpion xc rc as well but need to see what I can fit on it. The frame claims a max tire size of 2.2 but the xr2 2.2 I have now measures at 2.5in(63.5mm). I can confirm that X-kings are so narrow, it's laughable how Continental makes their tyres the lightest at customer expense. It maybe that they need unusually wide rim, but the tyre isn't from wide rim madness period, so I wouldn't assume that. Still geax saguaro is bigger and actually exactly the measuremnt claimed than x-king on the same rim, sooo, they suck ;-)
