Thanks for your video. Without watching this I would have been lost. It’s totally different from any other drivetrain so I had to unlearn my mechanical shifting thinking
Shimano had a pre-load adjuster LONG ago. I do not think you know much about the history of bicycles. Shimano made a cheap, low-end crankset-- something SRAM knows all too well. And a captive crank arm bolt was around in the early 90's. SRAM is rubbish. Cheap and light, works well enough, but there you have it. They do have the best warranty in the business because it is needed. 1X road systems are worthy of ridicule. 1X, for those who are unaware, has NOTHING to do with 'limiting complexity' or 'reducing weight' for the rider. It does two things for the manufacturers: it let's them save money AND it allows full sus mountain bikes to have 4 or 6 or 8 pivots in a fancy linkage without having to place a front mech over the chainwheels. It does have an impact on the rider though: It makes for huge, multi-tooth jumps up and down the cog-- terrible for your tiny, fractional horsepower motor, and it wears chains wrapping a 10 tooth gear and forcing terrible chainlines. And I have ONE Dura-Ace bike and 4 Record bikes. I am no Shimano fanboy.
Fantastic review, it helped me decide this would be a good purchase for me. When I picked it up today it was 40% off, plus I was able to stack an additional 15%, so just over 900$ cad before tax. Paint job is different, but as an added bonus the drop seat is fully set up and wired. All else review.
do you think 10sp chain would work with a shimano 12sp chanring? wanting to put a saint derailleur and small 10sp cassette on my enduro bike for some chairlift adventures 😅 save smashing my xtr derailleur up
@@LoveMTB was looking at aftermarket shimano chainrings as it's probably better wear wise, lots of them say 10/11/12 compatible but not sure about retention as you say
What are the uses of those small extra pieces for the optislick cable? I got them with my xt shifter but I just installed the cable housing alone like normal. I have no idea what they are for..
thanks for the comparison, was looking for some cheap brake upgrade and just ordered the M6000 complete brake sets front & rear for 80 euro the M6100 were 140 and are not that much better imo so the older M6000 looked like a better deal to me and still can get the ceramic icetech pads for better modulation if needed they will probably be a big upgrade on my old but not much used 2008 Haibike Scream RC which I started riding on again and has Magura Julie that are impossible to bleed it's an 100/100mm XC so these should be good enough for me, even the Magura Julie were ok for me but I started learning how to service my bike and don't like the super old Maguras poor servicability
What 34T crankset will accomodate CUES linkglide system? No 34T in their lineup according to their website. Hallowtech would be better if there are other suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.
I had the same problem with angle on the Wolftooth Sram Shifter mount and Magura adaptor. Can't change the position. Even worse the top of the shifter was interferrening with the bottom of the Magura lever, not good at all. I really like the Wolftooth products, but when i pointed this out, they told me knowone else is having the issue. They didn't know I tried the Magura adapter with another friend with MT7s and a Sram X0 shift pod, and it too interferred with the top of the shifter pod cover. That and the fack that you can't roll the shifter position up towards the thumb kind of killed my Wolftooth joy. It's surprising that wolftooth would miss out on simple ergonomics and worse actually interferrence, but this video says the same thing about the dropper lever. Glad I found this video, because I am switching to Shimano brake levers, and I was considering ordering the little adaptor for my Wolf tooth lever. Now I think I'll just abandon my Wolftooth lever for this Shimano one.
is there any compatible 160mm crank arms that work with T-Transmission? I got 175mm GX T-Type, and while there ae 165mm available, I really want to try out the 160mm one.
I love hydra hubs bc at the bike park, every downhill bike whizzes from a Hydra and none of them are doing technical climbs. Nor are any of those riders skilled enough to feel pedal kickback. It's great.
One friend of me got a fully from like 2009. Some m58 something on there. Sadly one is leaking at the lever a bit. but they look really clean and the modulation is nice. but parts are like non existed so m7120 here we go he he.
I’ve been using ztto hubs for almost 3 years and never had an issue. Well… with hubs with pawls system, they wear fast to a level it is hard to put the body back if you remove it, but id doesn’t make it unusable, and for the price, to me they are really good hubs.
Good detailed video. BTW bash guards are a good way to uglify your cranks / bike. The new style isn't any prettier so Its good to see they made them easy to remove. You may not fit a guide with them in place either so you might wana consider a tensioner (OR some kneepads and a jockstrap so your ready for the chain falls).
