Hi everyone! Dani here. I have been preparing to become PM for almost 3 years. I started studying the role while I was a receptionist in a marketing agency, and all my roles after that have been related to assistance/administration positions. It is really difficult for me to get a formal role as a PM. I've had some interviews but somehow I can't get the job. Any advice? Is it me or applications are getting more and more challenging? I just don't know what to do.
It might be worth applying for entry level positions such as a project coordinator - she has a video on that. Alternatively you can network with other pms and offer to volunteer to gain some experience ? The PRINCE2 qualification is also good to show your interest or the google certified courses. I was permanent until one of the supervisors convinced me to take a contract role. She then let me go without any sign, Warning or talk. It felt very calculated. I am so sad because I really liked the permanent role I had
Hey! Ah sorry to hear that, but yeah, that’s what comes with contracting sometimes. It’s flexible but on both sides! It makes it a lot easier for employers to let you go, you’ve always just gotta do your own research cos some of these employers don’t love us!

I think you will find it incredibly hard to find a contract role that will hire you are a coordinator with no project experience. Main attraction to employers for contractors is they are experts in their field

Contracted PM works well in construction and consultant work. Great video for persons trying to find their footing.Can you make a video for new PMs trying to find remote work outside the UK or US?
Thanks! And I won’t really be able to make a video on that. As I have no real clue about that really. However really. In my mind it would be the same process as trying to find work in the uk or us. First challenge is to find the roles. Fully remote work based outside the Uk or us? Doesn’t sounds very common to me
Depends on what your goals are. If you would like to increase your salary fast: then yes. If you want to just find your footing and figure out what you like first: then no harm on jumping around for a bit

@@pitolinmotion Madam abeg let me continue my contracting. The contracting is juicy. But the IR35 - that is the killer. It’s like you work and give the money to the government. Now that is the issue. As I’m sure you have noticed. You can’t get an appointment in any U.K. hospital anymore. All the doctors are gone.
Yeah so with IR35 now… the money really isn’t as juicy as it once was , without the additional benefits too right. I would personally only contract outside ir35 otherwise for me , financially (and stress wise) it just doesn’t make sense
