Thanks for the video man. I’ve been going whole hog with Contrast paints and I’ve been avoiding my horses till the very end. But I think you’ve inspired me to bump them up in the backlog.
Like yourself I love cavalry... but hate painting horses so seeing you do this really helped. I am just waiting for some more horses, thought I should use the Seer rattle can ...blimey thats good stuff without the nasty smell of the Tamiya primer.
Nice video, definitely not rubbish. There are a few blotchy patches on the larger areas, but that could be fixed by watching as the paint dries and removing the pooling.
So have you timed yourself using regular paints and something like Agrax Earthshade? It seems to me that they are a useful tool for some situations but that's about the best that can be said for them.
Love this! Thank you. Im painting in 15mm, and 100 horses will go a lot faster with contrast. Question, how would you go about painting the chainmail with contrast?
Thays awesome, it really does help. For chainmail i base it with a darker silver like GW's leadbeltcher then use the contrast Basilicanum Grey over all of it. Ive done a video on the contrasts over different armour coats, sometimes i use gore grunta fur for a burnished chainmail 👍
fantastic video man -- nice work! I'm not as fast as you with a precise brush, but this is exactly what I need to get cracking on my Song of Ice and Fire Targaryen. Tell me, what did you do for the horses eyes, however? Cheers from California.
Thanks 👍 sorry for the slow reply, i use corax white for the horse eyes as its ever so slightly just off white then i either use a black fine liner for the pupil or just a thin line with a fine brush 👍😀
