Did you know that you can control some PTZ camera movements in Home Assistant! In this video I show you how to how to add the #Reolink E1 Outdoor (Zoom and Pro should work the same) to #HomeAssistant, and how you can control the Pan, Tilt, and Zoom movements of the camera. Hi. I plan to buy 823a with patrol and patrol presets. Is it possible with HA set patrol locations, and if dorbell is detected, move ptz reolink to location 1 (patrol 1 preset), wait xx mins/delay time and return to default position, garrage move sensor detected, move to locarion 2 (patrol 2?) .. etc

Hey mate. Been trying to get my reolink cameras connected to HA for a while. When I paste the github link and click add nothing appears? any ideas? Cameras work fine on the app.

Hi there, quick question, can you make this camera do patrol ? i know you can save preset positions, but can you make it go trough them in an order ?

Yeah, you could make an automation run through the presets every few minutes. If the camera isn't meant for it, you may wear it out mechanically though.

Will it connect over the internet to monitor from work, or will it have to be within the home wifi distance?

Via the Reolink app you can view remotely, or via Home Assistant if you have remote access set up

is this that you need both: reolink_dev AND ovif? when I add ovif only I don't have many controls but when I add them both then yes

I have ordered the E1 Outdoor after watching this video ... But it seems port 8000 isn't even open on the camera ... Thus the installation fails ... Have they updated the firmware on their cameras maybe?

May have. Use the Reolink desktop app to open the ports (see my Reolink Duo2 review). Hope that helps!

Is this fully water proof from heavy rains? And the sun smashing it with direct sunlight?

Might be nice if it really worked like this. I just don’t think there stuff works with HA at. Have work on this camera first three days, a real wast of time and money.

@@makeitworktech when trying to add the camera. I’ve entered the IP and username and password, then shows that error. I’m trying the E1 pro. On the github it states it’s not supported. Do we have different cams?
