Manaform Hellkite is sadly a non-bo with Hinata as it specifically references the amount of mana spent to cast the spells, not their mana value. Meaning Hinata's discount actually makes the tokens smaller. Great vid though. Keep it up!
@@xeroenna04 Did you ever build it? Literally and/or in Moxfield? I'm in information aborbtion mode - I'm new to Commander but enjoyed Jeskai in Standard when I played. The Hinata and Kykar decks look fun. Trying to find a balance between powerful, but fun (for both myself and the group. It's gonna be my first build so I don't want the tables to hate it too much.)
You will want this creature too: Battlefield Thaumaturge Creature - Human Wizard Each instant and sorcery spell you cast costs 1 less to cast for each creature it targets. Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets Battlefield Thaumaturge, Battlefield Thaumaturge gains hexproof until end of turn. it will make Crackle with power cost RRX to cast, release the Gremlins will cost RR to cast so long as there are artifact creatures to destroy. so good, I've seen a few Hinata lists and many don't have this creaturebut still include the named spells in their deck list
Anyone know why Smoke Spirits' Aid is not legal in EDH on MTGO? Also, it's a sorcery so you cannot cast it in response unless you can cast it as an instant.
Because MTGO is its own economy, you will sometimes find cards hard to get or unavailable unlike in paper. Not sure why, just the way it has been. Please dont remind me lol. If this card was an instant, it would have opened up so many more lines of play.
Is this deck terrible to play against? I have been looking to make it for a while but the value from Hinata feels like it could potentially not be fun to play against.
Depends who you play against. Some players dislike playing against control decks regardless of what that interaction is, and Hinata is a control deck. So if you think that may be a problem more often than not, you might be better building someone else 🙂
I really wish Hinata Deck techs would exclude suggesting curse of the swine. For this deck it's only function that helps is the exile, but you are giving your opponent something in return. With all the x spells in these colors that exile for better effects, it just makes no sense to include this card in hopes you can deal with the pigs. It's like having to play two boardwipes in one turn, and who wants to do that? Plus if your opponent ends up having a way to somehow utilize the tokens before you get rid of them (sacrifice effects, buffing Craterhoof Behemoth effects, ect...), you may just end up helping them win. PLEASE STOP MENTIONING THIS CARD!!!!!!
Like any spell, you have to consider how it may end up working against you. But honestly, in playing it so far, it has been nothing but positive, especially because the way i use it is to only exile creatures with powerful abilities or potentially game-ending effects, which have become more prevalent in recent years. In addition, between the token sub-theme, burn spells and bounce spells my version runs, the boar tokens are rarely an issue. I still think Hinata decks should run this card, but i agree that you can't just play it out without giving it some thought.
@@casual_commander I would say in your deck it's fine, but for less experienced players who don't know how to build good synergy, I wouldn't recommend it.
That's partly why i decided to make gameplay videos accompany the deck techs i make shortly after they release, so they can see how to pilot the deck and use the cards in games. I also try to be careful in not using the term "autoinclude", because in some builds of a commander this may not be the case, nor should the card be played at the soonest available time. But i think your point highlights an important issue: powerful cards can still be used sub-optimally and even to your detriment, so spend some time playing games with it to see how it actually plays out and learn when the right time to use it may be.
@@mcfructix7688 WRONG!!!!! That's why players need to fuckin think for themselves. I'm literally a Genius, bud. Look me up dude....figure out wo I am and what I've done.
It will be a bit of a tough slog to get through when it has the right cards, but it is also pretty commander reliant, so one or two removal spells will keep it in check pretty well.
@@casual_commander I'll agree with that assessment. I've got him..but I've hot to finish this Teysa karlov deck first. Kodama of the West deck teck from ya would be cool.. I'd like to see your spin on it. ✌
@@lifebreacher7629 very nice, Teysa is a fun deck to pilot and was one of my first edh decks i ever built. Tbh i have quite a few dech techs already down the pipeline. But in the not-too-distant future, ill be asking players what decks they'd like me to build, so you might have your chance there :)
Thanks Justin, any help is appreciated. I'll be putting up at least two recorded games, maybe even three very soon. No live games just yet, but if enough ppl end up wanting it I'll be happy to do it.
