Combate é a prova mais emocionante que tem no Aeromodelismo. Sou fissurado nesta prova desde os 16 anos, hoje tenho 74 anos. Fui Campeão várias vezes e até hoje faço combate!

I've not flown control-line combat, but I used to fly the RC version; it was great fun. The models were almost the same: just big wings with stupid amounts of control throw (no expo or rates). They weren't as manoeuvrable as the ones shown here, but at least you didn't need an airline sick-bag at the end of every fight/flight! We had slow combat, too. Foam deltas with masses of up-trim, stooging about on 1/4 throttle with their noses in the air, towing twenty yards of ribbon. Ridiculous but very relaxing.

How do you avoid tangling the control lines?

About 60 years ago I was into Combat flying Razor Blade, Cleaver, Black Ghost, Peacemaker, Dongus, Rogue, Flingle Bunt, and many of my own designs with wire booms. Still have some plans

@@kardRatzinger Hi! When two pilots are in the circle center (each with their own plane), it's fairly easy to fly, while being mindful to avoid wrapping together the two sets of control lines. But when the two planes are flying combat, to cut each other's streamer, many spontaneous stunts are being done to evade or pursue. That's when accidental line wraps are seen most, which typically end with one or both planes crashing!
@scottwright388
@scottwright388 3 месяца назад
@@supafrogg258well you helped me to stop scratching my head with a couple questions. I'm amazed that they don't get tangled almost instantly, and I didn't notice the streamers. I was thinking that to win, one would need to survive a crash, which is likely almost impossible.

Just watched both control line videos. Didn’t know that happened these days. Wow, around and around (Chuck Berry 1958- Rolling Stones 1964 😂😂😂). My first flight 1960 was an inexperienced, windy day disaster that lasted maybe all of two minutes. 10 or 12 years later it was a small Cox red biplane on a too small school yard. Way to short line but managed to take off and land ok. Got pretty dizzy though, imagine that would probably kill me now at 71. Anyway thanks for sharing and arousing some old memories 👍👍👍😎😎😎

Hi I always enjoy your videos and it's nice to see some control line combat action. I am actually in this video although not flying, I am in the centre circle as the centre marshall and I was also CD for this event last year. I would have been this year had it not been for the Coronavirus !! I am the Chairman of the Combat Flyers Association and hopefully next year 2021 if the Nationals take place I will be CD again and would like to meet you and could give you close up access to some of our combat bouts for you to video. Any publicity we can get will help to keep this branch of our hobby alive, hopefully. Please come and say hello.

hi tony, thanks for your comments, i had been filming up on the main flight line both days but managed to slip away and have a look around, i didnt film much of the combat as i didnt want to bother / pester anyone during their competition so just filmed from the outskirts, it would be good to film someone giving a short tutorial on the models - ie price, kit or plan, clubs to join, engines, pilot age range, safety rules etc etc then that might light a touch paper in the youngsters etc that might come across the video, of course ill film some flying as well, depends on the weather but i generally film all day saturday at the main flight line then sunday at some point ill wander around the whole site, lets hope and pray the weather and covid play ball next year tony - regards pete,
