Very cool. I never thought of using pa3x this way. I tried at the time of PA800, but their were too many limitation so I gave up. Glad to know it has progressed so much. I will be using it in my arrangements. I use Logic Pro X. This will be a good addition. I wish there was a plugin version. Thanks.

Is there any way to send midi messages to control anything on the touchscreen? For example what midi code can simulate a Global button pressed? Is it possible basically? If, then what midi code can select each and every option showed on the screen?

Hi Evren....You want to control Pads 1-4 in what way? Like you want to trigger and stop the pads from your DAW, or you want to be able to program tracks for your Pads?

I’m not a Logic user but from what I hear it’s an advanced DAW. I couldn’t give you Logic specific ways of doing things but since these are basic commends, I don’t see why any DAW couldn’t do the same. Did you look up the midi parameters for the pa 700? They’re probably the same.

Unfortunately I don't have Cubase and don't really know much about it. Honestly, this would be a how to work with Cubase kind of tutorial, as everything else would be the same. In term of Korg requirements, nothing will change. You just have to figure out markers, program changes, CC messages...and all that with Cubase.

As far as I know none of these Korg arranger keyboards can transmit audio over usb.

+Roy Hewa Glad I was able to be of some help. Unfortunately I can't really help you with FL Studio...but it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out. I'm sure there's a way as this is a basic feature for any DAW. Dig a little deeper and you'll find it...share it with us when you do.

+Tutorials for Midi & KORG Arranger Keyboards Could not find how to do it with FLStudio. Asked an expert and he told it is not possible with FLStudio. Settled down here with Cubase Elements 8 (I am in process of evaluating it to purchase) , which can do it. Now I got stuck at one last place. I want to use the above setup in KORG PA's Sequencer mode (Quick Record Mode where it records the code progression with style elements) . So in that mode without pressing the 'Start/Stop' button, it does not start recording. How can we send a MIDI message from DAW to PA to mimic the 'Start/Stop' button. Check the reference manual and could not find it. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Cheers

Glad to know you found some kind of solution for the problem. I haven't tried this set up with the recording mode, but I think if you add the program change #103 (if I remember correctly) you should be able to trigger the Start/stop functionality on the korg. Create an extra bar at the beginning in your DAW and add this message. Then, you can always delete the extra bar once you're done recording. Let me know if this worked out for you....

With this setup it is very easy for me to record a song on my PA600. I was looking for a DAW which suites my requirement and seems like Cubase is the one for me. Will place the order today.

I don't see why not. Logic Pro X has more powerful midi capabilities. I'm not a Logic user, but I know people do it without problems. I've seen posts on Korg forums from Logic users.

+Yayati Trivedi ...All this should also work with PA900 as they use the same commands I believe. You might want to double check on it though. Try adding a 103 program change at the beginning as well. I use this set up all the time and it works like a charm. I've had many others who've contacted me through Facebook, so I know it has worked out for them as well.

I am missing additional settings on DAW? Source MIDI device or some setting on the KB? other than selecting Ext Seq as input device?

Not really... If you followed the instructions, that's basically all there's to it. Are you using midi over USB or just traditional midi cables?

USB, Korg midi driver and Win 10
