Controlling Ticks in Your Cow Herd 

Install Barn Owl nest boxes. Ticks life cycle included small warm blooded mammals which are reservoir for disease. The Idaho Extension has a plan to build two Barn Owl nest boxes from one sheet of exterior plywood. Place them 8 feet high and have the entrance face away from the prevailing Winter wind. Make the opening oval and no more than 4x5 inches.
