lol, when you think about the strategy, it makes sense. Adam winning would have been an absolute massive advantage for Vaugn and Denofa for Odi to be knocked out in 32, he ended up winning the round.
It still blows my mind that this all started with a bike and a dream. Glad to play a part, keep it up Adam, AND Collete, can't wait to see you destroy competition!
Yeah, i was watching the stream thinking damn, probably OMT or the win for Adam. I was amazed when all 3 judges chose for Odi. Edit: I understand the judges logic, but Adams incomplete is really questionable.
Not just Adam. Some of the drivers that are not as consistent (Adam, Rad Dan, Kyle Mohan, Matsuyama ect.) get tougher judging when they go up against a top 4 sort of guy in 32. Obviously FD doesnt want someone randomly going beast mode and disrupting the championship points leaders in 32, so anyone facing Odi\Chelsea\Osbo\Field has to be so perfect there's no way the judges could vote against them.
Shoutout to Mike! His editing skills are just so amazing. The slowmo shots in the burnout pit and the cars touching the wall were 10/10. Keep up the amazing work!
I don’t understand how the battle before Adam on the last turn someone went way on the inside hitting that pylon, but Adam not even going as bad gets an incomplete lmao. Also the battle before was very similar and they did one more time... judges clearly pickin favorites.
@@derekwilliams5689 I usually just do the same lol. I tuned into the broadcast at the right time though and got to watch that run before adam. And when I saw adams run after and how the judges judged it I was thoroughly confused
Even with both incompletes in the chase, the contact caused you to not be able to finish your lead run even if it was only 20 feet from the finish line. The judges explanation "if Adam would have been able to finish his lead run it still wouldn't have been as good as Odi" was bullshit in my opinion.
Sort of...that was basicly the shut down so they used the previous part of the run. That's not the issue. 2 other competitors hit the same way Adam did but didnt get a 3 tire off call. Really I dont see how he could be 3 tires when the pylon contacted the door not the rear corner behind the wheel.
Exactly, Adams's lead was technically incomplete from being hit. So how the hell do they justify using a not at fault incomplete lead against a complete lead...
It has nothing to do with Adams lead being incomplete, it was more so Adam didn’t get out to the first touch and go, so Odi’s lead was better. I don’t think Adam’s chase should’ve been an incomplete therefore he should’ve won, but that’s the world of judged sports. 🤷🏻
@@smurfvolvo not what I meant, we can all see that Odi had the better lead run. That shouldn't matter after odi hits Adam not allowing him to stay in drift through the finish line.
His lead run was still worse then odi's even before he hit him, so he kinda saved him but the 3 wheels off thing fucked it up :) just imagine adam finishing his lead run, odi has a complete chase and a clean lead run adam would have only had an okay lead run and "incomplete or bad chase, so he would lose instantly if odi wouldnt crash into him, dont blame the fault on odi, he gave him a chance to win with that crash but the judges are dumb
@@woolbus4319 Adams's lead wasn't incomplete. His chase run was, so therefore when the judges judged lead runs Odi was much cleaner and Odi was more deep in the zones and touch and go, also Odi had a better line. If you listened to what the announcers said you would have heard this. but if you choose to be bais then stay mad and humble your self
@@SpaceRanger187 Yeah most of the time its pretty good, but sometimes its like WTF are these judges doing?! The mistake is so obvious that anyone with eyes and a brain could see it
One of the many reasons I could never get back to watching full FD events after watching DrifmastersEU, the systems they use in the latter championship are just so much more fair to judges and competitors alike
28:19 wait wait wait, so magicly there was a rule change since the first round and not a single driver knew about it? We are on round 7.. they have driver meetings for what? Even Vaughn who has been competing in FD for 15 years was confused with that call, and said there is no rule that said 3 tires off was an incomplete (even tho it was a grey area). Here I was expecting to see some light at the end of the tunnel and only got more dissapointed with this sport.
I started watching this sport in 2011 in hopes the sport would be as big as F1, IMSA, and hoping some day the cars and judging would be closer to fair as years went by. I stopped watching FD for this exact reason and I stop bothering watching the BS. Until they fix the sport, I'll stick to F1
Some of the best driving I’ve seen you put down during this practice sesh. Can tell you were having fun, shows in your driving. Way to go man. Really growing your skills and it’s starting to show when you let yourself have a lil fun!
I used to watch you when you first started making videos and I haven’t really watched since then but it’s absolutely insane to see how far you’ve come since then.
Has been for awhile. Look at how much they gave forsberg a couple years ago at osw, dude was literally parking his car in the middle of a run, and they gave him the win.
@@Matty.Hill_87 I don’t think it’s that at all the judges want to put the best show possible forward and they know the best drivers up top will do that, whenever one of the lower drivers gets to the top 8 they make a major mistake but the big issue is this is because the judges never let the lower competitors get higher so they don’t have enough practice with the top end competition and get psyched out because of lack of experience at top level competition it’s a vicious circle. Having bullshit sponsor politics happen to me in Australia I know exactly how it feels. You need to be a really kick arse driver and show some consistent performance for the judges to start to let you have some ‘favouritism’ like Dylan Hughes is doing atm. Or you’re right and they think more about putting the more big sponsor cars forward rather than the true winnner and because they do that those drivers are the good ones because they get all the top level experience. Either way I do feel a lot of bias in the judging decisions, I think the judges have a lot of pressure and a lot of hard calls to make but the reason they make the calls they do is have good intention behind them they think a lot about why the cars got into the position they are, alas they seem to make these calls fit what they want to be the case to put the top drivers through more often than seems right. Judging and it’s foibles and the comp politics is what got me to leave the competitive scene in Australia in the end, at least it ruined the love for me and there is no money in just drifting for fun. Lack of money, debt and many other factors have kept me away from driving ever since. I still really miss it sometimes though.
@@lostallgravity sadly yeah. I'm only watching fd for Adam. Its been biased for years which is why I stay away from it. If it wasn't for Adam in it I wouldn't bother since I know who will be top 4 each event.
@@vSpr3dator yeah unfortunately drifting as a professional sport is just significantly more difficult to get people interested than normal circuit or circle track racing.
@@penamena5238 agree! And the questionable judging isn't helping. All a sponsor thing. Other drivers will drive worse and get the win. This is the first fd season I watched all because of Adam and the judging is killing him and the sport.
It’s crazy to think about watching your BMX tutorial videos to coming here, been watching since 2014 and I can honestly say to see how far you’ve come is insane. If I saw you driving through the streets with the rest of the fr roster, I would go absolutely nuts!
so glad i live 10 miles away from downtown LB, i never knew there was gonna be the lbgp and formula drift until you made a vid on it. great content dude!
I feel like the content that’s being produced it flawless. Love the style of shooting and editing. Best of all it looks like Adam and the team are having a ball while doing it.
The lead runs can not be judged the same because Odi hit you! It’s absolute BS that it wasn’t called OMT. Judging at these events is getting worse every event.
How tf does Dai not get an incomplete but you do when you both went off in the same area? FD judging is so inconsistent. I was there, and I personally think it should of been a OMT kinda wack. They need to be better at being consistent when it comes to calls.
The dumbass judges called it a Incomplete run for Adam cause he went 3 wheels off, Dai also went 3 wheels off but it was called as 2 wheels making it a complete run. Odi got a incomplete Chase making it have to judge on both of their Lead runs. Odi had a better run but Adam had a terrible run but a hit. Should’ve called it as OMT but the judges are just mega idiots.
Was awesome meeting you this weekend been watching your videos since you were doing bmx how-tos's in your moms driveway. looking forward to seeing you next year.
How did he get the win when he slammed into you only real mistake you had was last inside clip cone I think fd needs to switch to the drift shifters points system with sensors in all zones measuring proximity and angle to calculate a score
Only problem is thats way more expensive cause its a lot of Europe tracks so traveling cost would be crazy and i think adams already said fd is pretty expensive for him to run
@@J0K3R_the_Nerd it annoys everyone. That's why the same top 4 make it each event and they can't keep consistent competition since people get tired of the unfair judging. Fd is killing itself
Absolute honor meeting you at Long Beach I was sitting at that final corner. Not only did your third wheel not go off but the lead runs aren’t comparable either cause odi caused a collision not just contact. But you have a great attitude about it and it’s one of the reasons why you’re a great driver. Keep up the great work!
Great driving Adam! Shame it wasn't called as at least a one more time but on the plus side you looked way more confident and in touch with your car and driving than ever so keep up the good work!
Made it in the video! :) The parade was hilarious, my mom was out infront trying to get good video for my nephew and was so confused by all the people on bikes. I just laughed and said they're with the lead drift car. For your first time on the track I think you did awesome! It was very unfortunate that the judges were not paying as much attention to all the details as they should be.. A lot of rough calls imo. But I'm glad Vaughn came over to confirm with you about their knowledge of the ruling, it's ridiculous the "new" rules aren't mentioned every event just so they're known to all the drivers/spotters. Also Mike, great footage as always! It was very nice to meet you, thanks for the picture! Hope you get some chill time at some point hah!
Good to know tho, if your opponent incompletes while chasing you, you can hit him and make him spin in his lead so theres 2 more incompletes and since you have the only full run, you get the win :) Should have been a OMT all the way, i dont think a single person would have complained about that
Lol Adams lead was already not as good way before odi made contact. The only thing that would have saved him is if they had decided he was 2 wheels off in his chase instead of 3. Odi making contact only helped him.
@@downsouthdrift3158 well, it helped Adam in the sense that he should have won after the contact, but it didn't help him in the sense that the judges still decided against him
Love how our boy's car is always front and center on any advertisments/media posts but they shaft him whenever they have the chance.. lets go grip racing soon plz
I comment this all the time & I don't care. You one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest rides on the FD tour. Absolutely beautiful machine, a freakin work of art. Props to the Lzmfg team!🔥💪💰
This track is the most enjoyable fd track to watch imo, that's partailly due to the changes of grip because i find it interesting to see how different drivers handle grip loss/gain, and also allows for a avriety of different car setups to do better in one section and worse in the other
In my opinion it will just continue happening. It needs to be called out inside the race, and not after when cameras are off, and FD can just flip you off lol. Again, my opinion.
Your a daily inspiration Adam! Helping me Follow my dreams with Cars. Also very happy for you and what you’ve accomplished and gained for yourself ie your career or business or relationships. Fricken rad keep it up!
Can they judge on lead vs lead when you spun before the finish line. That’s like comparing lap times when one guy has done half a lap and the other guy has a full lap. Of course the guy with half a lap is faster. Just doesn’t work
I’m starting to notice a trend with you Adam, you let your nerves get the best of you every time. We know you’re an amazing driver, but just try to go out there and have some fun! Stop thinking “I’m out here with the big dogs and they are gonna bite me” or whatever. Just have fun like you do on the practice runs!
Adam love the content like always wishing can get to that level someday haha. Keep positive. Love how F.D. changed the rules after first round and didn't make it clear to anyone.. management seems to be slacking.. get em net round bro!!!!!
Ye problem is that now its become the old guard vs the new guard, the older guys hate people that like LZ (they find us, annoying, and in some cases they are correct, LZ has a lot of younger fans that can be pretty grating at times), and we hate them for not accepting us.... And then theres people like me who started off watching LZ and have since branched out but still enjoy watching FD and supporting the person that got us into drifting....
@@griffins750 yeh pretty much the old vs new situation. im pretty sure if anything LZ been getting mroe hate after his very first round in fd as a pro. since then it just excalated. even aparently them 'none toxic' fd fans dont approve texas where adam got into top 4. aparently thats nothing but thats like quite a big achievement for a rookie in the pro class
Besides the controversy, the video espiy in the beginning seemed like a such a vibe, mucking around long beach with your friends, BMX'ing around, Cruising around in your cars
You made me a fan of drifting at 59yo, coming from the drag racing world where the clock determines the winner. I understand "hitting the marks" in the zones, clips, etc., but the "judging" aspect reminds me a lot of figure skating and gymnastics, sometimes they love you... sometimes they don't. Still, love to watch you drive, your attitude and your videos, especially when you show the "footwork" involved.
That was still sick af. Nice drivingg Adam. 🙂 I know with all the pressure it aint easy to have the most effortless run with such tough competitors and crazy fast rides, nice work thoo. Looked fire.
I feel like i need to see Adam in a mustang for fd, that are so competitive and a proven chassis vs Adams struggle with the s15 Would be even cooler if the barra was in the drift car
Still proud I know your time is coming you’re still new as a pro but your runs are getting stronger and stronger. Keep on going you are living a lot of our dreams💪🏽❤️🧡💛
This is why FD is so frowned upon by the grassroots scene. Any “pro” sport ultimately becomes a cash grab, biased circus for spectators instead of just driving and sending it with the boys… I’ll never understand FD and I don’t want to. I do feel for Adam tho, and I wish they had called it without playing favorites
@@batuhankaraman1714 well yea respectfully, thats bullshit hahah. How could one win if he spun, it should have been a OMT bc of all things that happend in their battle, these judges have been very wishy washy this season and especially this event, pure and utterly bullshit lately
It should have. Even factoring in both incompletes on chase runs, only one of them hit the other in a decel zone. Odi's lead was an awful lot better though, so OMT would've made sense.
Was watching the online count of those watching drop from 17k+ to little over 13k in 5mins. Also dislikes went from 72 to 130 in this time. I call it a OMT.
That’s BS, Odi caused you to DNF on your lead run since he caused you to straighten so they shouldn’t base the win off of comparing lead runs since Odi made your lead a 0
