Minute earth I watch in girth Till He tells of tress convection Laying I go forth To search for what was mentioned Although I despise my birth I’ve appreciated this lady’s lesson
Convection in the mantle of the Earth is NOT a hypothesis, nor is it the "proposed" driving force of plate tectonics. The original hypothesis proposed by Alfred Wegener was tested, refined , tested again, refined, tested again, and again and again and is now a THEORY known as Plate Tectonics. A HYPOTHESIS is a proposed explanation that serves as the basis of an experiment. A THEORY is the result of a hypothesis being accepted over and over and over again each time it is tested. Unlike the use of "theory" in everyday language, a scientific theory is a scientific FACT. Understanding the difference between those terms is essential in understanding the scientific process.
Iufer why you do this to me. You taught me Chem so well @ SLA I'm sitting in Chem 25 in college and I'm bored out of my mind. This guy spent an hour explaining sig figs and I'm sitting here thinking Pacific, Atlantic, Pacific, Atlantic. All he's doing is confusing the class and all I can do is sit stare on...
Convection is the heat transfer due to movement of the fluid , a question : if I stir quickly the water inside the pot does it heat up the water ? Does it increase the temperature of the water ? ( I move the molecules of water stiring it quickly). Does it increase the water's temperature ?
yes because you are transferring kinetic energy (of you stirring the spoon) to the molecules inside of the water you are stirring therefore increase the energy percentage.
Oh my gosh, ur so active but you have less subscribers! You should increase your popularity, so that everyone will learn about your talent and your teachings!
I'm watching this because I have a science assessment dues tomorrow and I haven't even started. Note to self don't watch anime, study and do your work.
Convection is so weak it couldn't have anything to do with storms, which are high energy. You have the wrong model. Also, you have the wrong role for water in storms. The right role recognizes that it is the surface tension properties of H2O that provide the structure that underlies storms and other flow phenomena. Do a search for an article entitled, The Missing Link of Meteorology's Theory on storms.
