She's elegant, very intelligent, well read talented and more genuinely Royal in terms of her ancestry than the Windsors. When she married the Queen's cousin (prince Micheal of Kent) the Media predictably accused her of being "haughty" and failed to recognise what a wonderful asset she would be to the rather dull Windsors! She is far better educated than all the other Royal women of her generation or older, and her beauty and accomplishments apparently caused jealousy and insecurity among some senior members in the family....notably princess Margaret who was openly spiteful about the glamorous newcomer. Even the Queen unfortunately was intimidated by Marie and remarked how " grand" she was. Sadly this pattern of disparaging new Royal brides continues to this day in the UK Media.
Sorry but I doubt Margaret gave two hoots about who her cousin married. She was a Princess of England in her own right, and higher rank. Margaret was fun to be around and had enough of a following.

She was very insecure in her later years because she was no longer a senior member of the family with Princess Diana and then William and Harry in the news everyday so she always had to remind everyone that she was the Queens sister and would be your friend one day and then totally ignore you the next.She delighted in making people uncomfortable.

Michael Owen-lowe actually wrong, if our great monarchy had not changed their name during WWI to Windsor it would of changed upon the marriage of our Queen to Prince Philip to Mountbatten, as it is the male line grandchildren of the Queen and Duke do bare the name Mountbatten-Windsor.

Re the catholic marrying into the royal family rule it is fine for a member of the royal family to fall in love and marry a catholic of course it is. However the rule of thumb is that the royal renounces their right of succession. Interesting that she didn't mention her first husband Tom who was probably at work during the salad and pahsta lunches.

I don't care for the way she told off those people in the restaurant... but I'm glad she told them off... Interior design STINK here in UK ........ And I say that after being employed in Madrid and Lisbon for more than 5 years , even compared with E Europe 80 % of houses are obsolete........ Starting with 2 tapes on the WC which burning your skin and ending with rats from the kitchens from Aldgate East where I should to pay £ 870 ....... Most houses look like stalls .......
