Man as a Australian I miss these guys so much, the greatest cricket was west indies vs Australia and others, I grew up in the 80s watching these great men and I wish it would come back. Thank you ambo for yr unbelievably great bowling and just yr great Sportsmanship. You were one of my hero's as a young man in Australia and Viv Richards my god you guys were awesome. Thank you thank you thank you.
Growing up its was Ambrose and Walsh, and Wasim and Waqar. Wanted to bowl like these guys, wanted to look like them, wanted to BE them. Greatest influence on young fast bowlers in the 90s.
In all the years of watching Curtly I was in awe of him. He was certainly a mysterious and intimidating figure on the field. In retirement, he is approachable and very friendly.
Mr Ambrose ...the greatest man we know only in cricket , but after going through his interviews , we salute him , being a lovely human being who is kind hearted , smart , and funny ...salute to him from Assam...
Love and respect from Pakistan. As a kid I had some great memories of watching Ambrose and Walsh. I remember we always use to compare them with Wasim and Waqar. Good old days..🥰
Curtly’s sublime action did so much to improve my own. Best pace off break in the history of cricket (just ask Mark Waugh lol). That ball searching for a full length would still take off. What a bowling attack is was. But Ambi had it all. Thank you, sir.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Was truly heartwarming. I loved to hear the old-fashioned values of respect to the elderly and those who went before. What a wonderful human being!
My favourite, genuine quick, Curtly single-handedly destroyed us English a few times in the early 90's. Windies were superb back then. What courage those batsmen had facing a fired-up Curtly. Great bloke.
From India, we miss WI cricket, grewing up in 80s Marshall, Holding, Roberts and Garner. My father used to watch matches in Hall & Griffith. Thank you Ambrose & Walsh for the entainment. Loved your interview..True legend ..
All love. No hatred. Great man. Along with Courtney Walsh, made a great combination. That stare and smile of both of these greats, I will remember forever.
Watching The great king Curtly bowl… inspired me to play cricket 🏏. He and viv were my inspiration to play cricket and I was fortunate to meet them both. Great men best team in the world… looking forward to another great revival of West Indies test cricket.
Thanks Mrs White for doing this Interview and sharing such with us. My favorite Bowler Sir Curtly Elconn Lynwall Ambrose, congratulations to you Sir Curtly on your achievements. Yahshua Hamashiach BLESSINGS of good Health and strength and long life. I certainly remember whiles in JA WI, the great man you is, took 7for 1 against Australia in Perth, one Love my brother, I wish the day when you would be a coach for these young, future bowlers. In the West Indies. Please help and mentor Mr Jayden Seals.
His journey shows God just wanted him to play cricket, that is what I feel. Great interview, watched him growing up and my family always considered him a cute cricketer, he was popular, everyone liked him. Thank you for lovely cricket memories Ambi :)
I like west indies inspite of the fact iam indian they are very big 💜 players , I like Ambrose what a wonderful bowler , when Tendulkar faces Ambrose the stadium 🏟️ hearts beat was high. If india select him as bowling coach he can improve our young players talent.❤️❤️
As a young England cricket fan who first started watching the game in the mid 90's, the "big four" fast bowlers for me were Curtly, Allan Donald, Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath. Goughie was brilliant for us but he was never quite at their level, and I often wished we had Curtly in our team when we played Australia. Amazing to think that both he and Shane Warne got into cricket almost by accident, it wasn't their first love. Curtly and McGrath get compared alot, but Warnie himself hit the nail on the head when he stated Ambrose had an extra gear. He was very tall, had a smooth easy action, gave you nothing, and when his tail was up could bowl genuinely fast. Almost the perfect fast bowler.
# First all thank you so much for sharing this video and nice conversation with one of the best pace of west indies sir Ambrose. He is class of his magical swing action of ball. Very cool guy and sharing with Walsh. I like the way you deliver the with best line and length like wasim akram. The judging line and length and keeping them constantly is absolutely fabulous for you and akram also. I like so many cricketers in my College days irrespective of teams. In my College days I like to see , I can say Vivian Richards team. At that time you rock the world with best bat and bowl attack. You know that is best team. In this conversation I noticed you along with Richie, Richards and Sobers going to start cricket academy. That is beautiful idea and start doing for international talents too. All the best for your future endeavours. Cheers Ambrose !!! Nice #
I give thanks to the Universe to you both for this I/V. I enjoyed it so much. Yes Ambie, I'm with your daughter. Although I love Michael, Courtney, Andy, Malcomb, Patrick, Winston, BIG BIRD, Crofty & the rest. You { Lenkly Roy } is my man. When you have the cherry, I know things will happen....I must ask though, what goes on in your head when you have the bat in your hands. .....Long life & prosperity to you & FAMI,Y
Lol I like her style. She like this newsy neighbour. Real West Indian vibe. Great interview. I always enjoy listening to this master talk about his passion.
Absolutely great and honest interview. I believe that the real reason behind your success was the fact that you did not like cricket. Had you liked it, and not be selected, you might have felt aggrieved, that in itself is a reason not to be stressed....whether or not they select me, what do I care? I still want to be a basketball player anyway. No stress...... Just one thing was left out though. Not one mention was made of Courtney Walsh? Nah man. Call his name at least once nah. Enjoy your retirement and have a long happy life. Total Respect!
Australians loved the West Indies cricket team. 100,000 at the MCG to watch The great man bowl. Never a racist thought or comment from us. Just love our sport, no matter where you come from
An absolute gentleman off the field but off it an intimidating and formidable bowler who had spells like 7-1 against the Aussies and bowled England out for 46 in 1994. His economy rate is next to nothing as he was a genius and highly skilled bowler who gave nothing away and he didn't even sledge you he just stared at you which meant 95-100 m.p.h. next ball when you think how tall he is and his delivery was about from 12ft almost impossible to defend. Enjoy your retirement Sir Curtly Ambrose you brought so much pleasure one of the best fast bowlers ever 😀 👍 ❤
Very interesting autobiography. Would love to see Ambi singing in the choir! And he didn't like cricket....to begin with, too bad for England, South Africa, and Australia! Good idea about the cricket school. Too many great ex-WIndies players not being employed to coach the next generations!
You are a King and a Star Sir Ambi... Thank you for your Contribution to Sports. By doing so you have made this World a better place ... You filled our hearts with Joy by each delivery...
The interviewer needs to let him finish his thoughts. You asked about his relationship with Viv and before he can answer properly you pivot to Andy Roberts, then to what is his best memories. That is but one instance. Allow him to speak stop interjecting.
