The best thing about this woman was her defiance. She did not give a f*** about her haters! RIP Mama. You were the definition of patriotism.

She is a heroine who has been forgotten. She suffered lots of atrocities and humiliation which no woman ever suffered. Without Winnie, Nelson wouldn't have made it.

She has been shielded by her ex husband's fame and the few misfortunes that has made the world to forget her but I think she deserves more than this.

Wendy sometimes I think people are doing this because she's a woman who made a few mistakes which men have done and undoubtedly Nelson might have done. Where's the saying that behind every successful man, there's a woman! If we're are looking for freedom fighters and heroes, mama Winnie is number one.

I will always love, respect and honour Winnie Mandela. She was the rock that kept the struggle alive when all the others like Mbeki, Oliver Tambo, etc. were hiding away in exile.

This is whom we choose to praise in the new SA? Will nobody be a voice for Stompie Seipei whose vocal cords she had sliced? For all those who died most unimaginably agonising deaths because of Winnie? Shouldn't we face the truth no matter how unfortunate it is?

@@tshepotau5754 You're right. She did order his kidnapping, and was present at, and did participate in, his torture, but she left the room before he actually died and was only proven guilty of criminal negligence, kidnapping, assault, accessory to assault, accessory to homicide and obstruction of justice, so she technically has not been convicted of murder. I'm sure she was a lovely person and wanted only the best for Stompie.

Where were you when George Fivas told the whole nation about her role? He said there was no evidence and that the witnesses had told lies.It was a plot to destroy her.It was the work of stratcom. The whites killed many blacks but they are never spoken poorly of.Botha,Deklerk et al

She was a Hero, period. Those who spend their lives & commit to criticising her must stand up & tell us that they could have handled her struggles better. Any person who cannot find & recognise a HERO in themselves, will struggle to see HEROISM in others.😢
