I too will thank you for a wonderful video. I received the same radio today and watched your video and saved your video because I’m going to use it as a learning tool from my dumb old brain. By that I mean, I’m not as young as I used to be, I see 80 years coming over the horizon. No matter, cause guys like you are out there! Thank You….
Good video. I just bought one of these and I'm blown away with it. Waiting for the data cable in the mail to learn how to use this radio more efficiently. Out of the box it is an impressive radio. Uncluttered but sophisticated with its high end features. Thanks for going through the menus. I just wish the manual in the box had more than 10 pages.
thank you for sharing this video. you explained everything i wanted to know. i will be ordering one soon. 73's Dan in Seattle,Wa 2052 . hope to work your station on lsb 38
Yeah, this thing doesn't operate like anybody would expect a radio to work. It has 5 "memory" slots, but really the "bands" are banks of 40 memories each, and the "frequency mode" doesn't change you to a VFO mode, it just alters the current channel you're on. I should have saved my money and got a Yaesu FT-891, or an Icom IC-7100 instead. It shouldn't have repeater functions, or FM, or more than 1 channel bank - OR a "frequency" mode really. It's a CB that can't be sold as a CB because of its power levels.
You can set the upper and lower DC voltage limits in software, to prevent it shutting down on 12.25v after you switch off the engine. I run mine on a 14.8v 5Ah LiPo battery.
I've rigged a fan up to the back of mine, it gets ridiculously hot on full power on extended use! I've also just picked up a used Magnum 1 just last week, can't buy them in the UK anymore?! Nice rig but is so under powered compared to the Anytone! Its only 20w on FM and 60w pep on ssb. Shame really as it's a great looking rig with a great sound, it's a little awkward to use though compared to the Anytone. If I had to choose only one, it would be the Anytone. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing!
I just got the AT6666 and your video helped alot. Made it much easier. Thanks. I do have one question. On the roger beeps. How did you hear them as you were going through the selection
2nd radio mate #4 is the best RB, although I just said in my previous comment, whats with the loud BLEEP when you turn it on, wakes half the house up. Lol
I wish I knew about these radios before I bought two President Johnny IIIs for my Jeeps. I wanted something small and powerful.....but just got small. New Milford, CT. here. Never much CB traffic in this area though. I have an old RCI Ranger RG-99 that I used as a base station in a house with an Antron A-99. But I'm in a condo now and I doubt an indoor antenna would work. The RG-99 is a good radio but the echo and talkback stopped working. Not sure if it's worth sending out for repair. I should probably just sell it.
Hello, i just got this radio yesterday. My question is, on roger beep menu, how do you get to hear the roger beep? I'm not able to hear mine when i go though the different beep sounds. Thank you. Great radio and vid. Rod..
The AT 6666 is almost the exact same as the Stricker 955.they have the same 4 finals also the finals from the Palomar linar will fit in the At6666 and Striker955.i really like mine.
@@petergoesinya636 They dont hear how much echo is goin out so they think its not as bad as what goes out over the air...On my cobra ext speaker it has a ear piece jack and i plug in cell phone ear buds and tune the amount of echo to the point that its there but barely..Huge difference.....Had a bud record my tx and as i already said, its there but barely..Why it works better that way i dont know..
Echo robs you of modulation.and sounds like crap on sideband, the audio quality of this radio doesn't require further enhancement.but pick your poison.have fun and enjoy 😋
When I cycle through the roger beeps I don't hear them. Am I missing something? New radio and I want to verify all the functionality. Appreciate your video. Certainly got me up an running very quickly.
Hey hi there I just came across your video I’m actually considering purchasing this radio I wanted to find out if you still have it and do you still recommend it and if not can you please tell me if you replace it with something else better and if you’re happier with it sorry for all the questions would appreciate any advice that anyone in yourself and give me
George Crisson: Yes....the output is approx 40 Watts on FM and approx 60 Watts on SSB. Frequencies for the "export" version are from 25 - 30 mhz (no gaps).
@@AICMasta : Yes, it has a VFO so it can be tuned to any specific frequency between 25.625 Mhz and 30.105 Mhz. (Some of the latest versions can also tune down to 24 Mhz).
