Both took time to develop/build, I started building very basic stuff with a hack saw, hammer, nails and 2x4s. Start wherever you are, with what ever tools you have access to. Buying used tools helped me build up my shop over time on a tight budget.

We bought two sets of reclaimed white plantation shutters (large levors type) for $60.00 at Habitat For Humanity. One 4 panel for a living room window and one 3 panel set for a sliding glass door. Ironically we could tell that these came out of a house very similar to ours. So they are out there if you look. All we have to do is buy the Z-FRAMEs and some hardware. Savings...about $1,500 or more.
