For any of you who have been here from the start you know that aside from video work, golf is truly my passion. Well, surprise! A golf simulator you are asking yourself? I am back to uploading videos to this channel when I can, and I promise to make them as much as I can. However, they will be a little different. Rather than just "picking" videos, I would like to move more towards the golf world and club reviews. Where might I be filming these reviews? Right here in my very own home garage golf simulator. I have received a lot of questions over the past few months of building this, so this video answers all of those. Does the ExPutt work in Tandem with the Garmin so you can play simulated rounds of golf hitting and putting? Or do they not "talk" to each other to work on the same software and you just play simulated golf with no putting and then work on putting seperately?

Man I wish! It's just a simulated round. What I do is whatever my distance is on the garmin I can add in to the ex-putt and then putt out from there! Works well!

How did you mount the impact screen & packing blankets to your garage?

Great question! The impact screen is screwed in at the bottom using 4 inch screws directly in to studs. The top is hung up by two eye bolts (one on either side.) The eye bolts are screwed directly in to the rafters in the garage. The packing blankets are screwed in to the rafters as well with 3 inch screws. I think have a 2 1/2'' washer around each screw head so that the blankets do not shift and tear through. Hope this helps!

It’s a two car garage with an 8 foot ceiling. Width of my setup is approximately 9 feet

Now that’s it’s been a year are you still running the same set up? Is it still worth it? And would you change anything? I’m getting ready to start my own build any info would be great.

How accurate are the distances with the R10? Do E6 and Garmin App distances differ? I ask because I just got the R10 and Garmin App seems to be 2 clubs short. Don't know if it's my setup or something wrong with the unit.

The garmin I have had zero issues with. If the distances are off go in to settings and change the altitude until your shots are going the distance they typically do

@@SanDiegoPicker Tried that. Even golfing in the Alps it's short. I've done all possible troubleshooting and can not get it right. I've read elsewhere that E6 is more accurate but I have android and E6 does not run on that. I'm waiting on an exchange from Garmin. Maybe the unit I had was bad. Also, according to Garmin the distance from ball to screen should be 10'. Ball to R10 6-8'.

Do you have a rug underneath the R 10, sometimes the floor reflecting messes with it. Or do you have any fluorescent lights above it? That can mess with it as well. Also, is it the correct distance is behind where you’re hitting from and do you have plenty of room in front?

@@SanDiegoPicker I've covered 90% of the concrete along my target line. My distances from ball to screen and from unit to ball are spot on. I do have 2 fluorescent bulbs overhead. Can't remember if I tried it with them off or not. This thing just seems so finicky to me unless the unit I had is defective. I'll know when I get the replacement.

Give it a shot with the fluorescent lights off, because the launch monitor is infrared that could be messing with it!
