I’m 21 and grew up listening to Conway Twitty, most people my age wouldn’t even know who Conway Twitty is. My dad was born in the 40s. So I grew up listening to Conway Twitty, Charlie Pride, amongst others. The Real music! The best! I’ll keep listening to Conway until my last days.
I'm 24 and have loved his music since I was about 8 years old. He's the only country singer I've ever been able to truly enjoy. I'm from Texas which makes this ironic.
You all prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tips you can offer me!
I'm 17 now and man do I wish I was alive to at least see him one time in concert. I am so glad that there's footage of amazing artists like Conway here.
And the woman is this clip at beginning is loretta lynn who just passed away last week at 90 years old . Should also look up roy Acuff for old time country.
FIND what you can online. Musicians, singers, iconic personalities like Conway Twitty are a gone. The next (your generation, plus) will establish your own icons.
@Chris Carter I love Loretta Lynn and she was smokin' in her prime lol, I'm not a huge Roy Acuff fan. I don't find myself listening to The Wabash Cannonball every once in awhile though. My top three list is Waylon, Travis Tritt, and my hero Stevie Ray Vaughan.
I was never really into country but ,Mr C-way Twittys , hello darlin 1971 , with his cool orange suit and pompadour ,and 1958s, its Only Make Believe .R.I.P Conway
This was a great era in country music. The performer just stepped up to the mike and sang. No blaring backup, no acoustics drowning him out, no light show distracting you from the performer. Simply music. Then there is the lyrics themself. They mean something
This became his signature song and the one he was known most for. His "HELLO DARLIN" intro was frequently repeated in social circles. This song is the center piece of his legacy.
Conway was country when country was country! I love it.😁. He didn't need his broken pick up truck or his lost hunting dog he sang from the heart!❤👌 and that's what you need right now!!
Back in the day, not many were bigger than Conway. At the height of his career, He gave a friend of mine a job, knowing he just got out of prison, 2nd chance stuff. Good man! Back then, NO ONE would give my friend a job, so thanks again Conway!
This was one of my mom's favorite songs and she turned my brother and I on to country music too. Mom passed away May 26, 2010. It's been 14 years ago this evening. Love you and miss you more than I can say mom. Kathleen❤
Man love Conway still. That voice still gets you. He was Handsome and had so much wonderful talent. No one like Conway Twitty. Love this song. Hes a legend
I was lucky enough to see him in concert with my grandma on 3 different occasions. He started each one with this song and I thought she was going to faint! He signed autographs for over 6 hrs until everyone that waited got one. He was a true talent and damn was he good looking to boot! Wonderful memories pop in my head when I hear this song.
My grandma went and saw him at the Cincinnati Gardens years ago. All the lights were out and he started with, hello darlin, and that spotlight went on him and off he went. A true legend in every sense of the word.
I am grateful and privileged to have been able to grow up with all of the amazing and unique tracks of Conway. He sounds very amazing. The world lost someone the day he died. We had the best of country music, from the 60s-90s. I miss the good old days.
Hello!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe
I’ll never be able to hear this song and not think about my grandparents’ beer joint. I’d give anything to walk in there one more time and this be on the jukebox ❤
@@sherrysingleton5265 "Injustice of the South" Jesus we can't even look fondly back in time without someone inevitably bringing up "RaCiSm" and "iNjUsTiCe", as if mid 1900's America was the only country and time period on earth with 'racism' and 'injustice' 🤷
He passed in Springfield Missouri with a Heart attack. I live about an hour north of Springfield Missouri. He was a Romantic Singer. 💕 Love his style of music 🎼🎼🎶🎶🎼🎶🎶🎼
So glad my mom and aunt exposed me to the country music that came out when they were kids heck before my mom was born which was 1962! I’ve done my best to keep it all alive for my kids! My special needs daughter is so much like me, she loves all music and can sing you dang near every Conway song on down to David Allen Coke and Hank Jr. which they were my dads favs in country! My parents together gave me such a love for music and I can’t be more thankful!
Loved, loved his voice, his growl!!!! He sang for women, in my opinion. I would cone home depressed, listen to his songs, and feel better. Miss him so much!❤😢
I am 50 and I still love this song i love each and every single song he sings 💕 ❤️ ❤ i think that he wrote this song for Loretta Lynn I believe the songs from back in the day we're much better than country music now
Conway Twitty (September 1,1933 - June 5,1993), born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was an American country music artist. He also had success in early Rock and Roll, Pop and R&B. He held the record for the most No.1 singles of any act, with 40 No.1 country hits, until George Strait broke the record in '06. From 71-76 he received a string of CMA awards for his duets with Loretta Lynn. Although never a member of the Grand Ole Opry, he was inducted into both the Country Music and Rockabilly Halls of Fame.
I played drums for my dad in a country cover band in the 1970’s , he was a great guitar picker & singer in his hay day , makes my memory’s dance around like “ James Brown “ in the middle of the 3rd set !

These old country music singers were and still are the greatest singers and performers to ever live. They can and never will be replaced with anything close to the quality they had. They were the product of their times. They sang what they felt from their hearts and the hearts of the folks that listened to them. They sang about real life experiences good times and bad times that folks go through everyday and about the way people lived life in that time. Honky tonks and bar rooms, love and marriage, betrayal, death, trains, accidents, work, country folks, living on the road. About everything people experience. The songs people could relate to because they touched the souls of everyday people. They were wonderful entertainers that could sing like angels so to speak.
. . . the first time I heard Conway singing "It´s Only Make Believe" in the year 1958 I felt in love with his voice and his songs. Now it´s 60 years later and he´s still in my ears and in my heart. Thank you Conway for joining me my whole life . . .
I was about 11 years old the first time I saw Conway and Loretta. He sang Hello Darlin and I was hooked. I was one of their biggest fans. I will always love Conway's music. Still listen to him.

Hello Barbara, are you writing? Well, that's beautiful. Have you had any of your books published? It would be a great deal to meet an author. How are you doing, my friend?
