I never really listened to lamb of God until I saw them open for slayer in Nashville. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. His live vocals are unreal
Ryan Mckay Back when my pals and I were going to shows a lot, we would have only one guy that would be the "camera guy" that would try to get as much crazy shit on film as we could. Not EVERYONE in the entourage with a fuckin phone. We would all take turns with the camera so that nobody was left "standing there" while the rest of us enjoyed ourselves.
Jesse Deeton trust me I'm always down for a bootleg show. I have a few from the late 90s on VHS, they're great. But you got to admit it's a bit ridiculous these days. And it's kind of shity for the artist. Nobody's surprised when you go see the show cuz it was already on RU-vid. Guess I just miss the the Dark Ages

After the Dimebag incident, a lot of metal acts do not like it if you get onstage. Randy pushed him to get him off the stage. Not really Randy's fault he died. Really his cause of death was "consequences of being a prick and taking dangerous matters into my own hand"

Randy Blythe seems like one of the coolest, chill and down to earth dudes in an interview but once he gets on stage he turns into a complete beast in a good way #LOG
Randy is the best front man. Just saw lamb of god up here in the northwest for about the 10th time. In- freakin credible. All the band members are so talented. Great band and amazing show.

Saw Lamb of God with Slayer last summer, and believe me, riding the rail while you guys absolutely tore it up made me forget I even had a phone! Absolutely one of the best nights of my life
I grew up listening to all that shit. Dead Kennedy's, Metallica, Minor Threat, Anthrax, Bad Brains, Slayer.... all the counterculture music of the time

Saw them on this Slayer farewell tour and it was amazing. One of the best shows ever. LOG are one of the most consistent bands. Always putting out solid material album after album.
When I was a kid, I tuned into Sesame Street daily just to see Cookie Monster. He was my favorite character on the show hands down. And that was a good 10-12 years before I even got into metal.

In Europe, still during the 90s punk rockers and metalheads didnt mix well, at all. That was provoked by a very real connection, at least in my area, between a certain type of metalhead with neonazi skinheads. Personally, although musically, I was and am a metalhead, politically I was and am a lot closer to the punk rock ideals. That said, back in the day, wearing a metalhead attire landed me in some fucked up situations more than once....
I personally love both metal and punk. Even in my teen years in the 1990's there was a metal and punk divide.I gravitated to metal more, and my best friend growing up didn't like that because he gravitated to punk more. For some reason, he fell into that mind state of "Metalheads suck!", but I never fell into the "Punks suck!" mind state. Life in a small town was weird.
I've heard him talk before and I didn't realise he was this softly spoken. I almost thought he was doing a mock "valley girl" voice at first! 😂 No disrespect, he's one of the greatest metal vocalist in the history of the genre.
He is so right. I got caught up in the recording before... now I take a few pics and record the beginning of my favorite song to watch when I'm bored. But I've made it a point to try and keep my phone in my pocket. Or away.
Randy reminds me of my dad (except about a hundred pounds lighter😂) he looks and sound absolutely terrifying but is just a big teddy bear😂 R.I.P dad miss and love you❤
Randy, you know what would solve the audience disengagement? If show promoters would record the show and everyone that attends gets a stream of the experience at the end.
Or, if you douchebag kids would stop obsessing over capturing everything on devices, and just exist in the moment. Technology has done some great things, this BS isn't one of them. No one gives a s*** how many likes you get.

I was thinking the same thing. In his interviews from back in like 2003/2004/2005, he has a much lower tone of voice. Maybe he quit drinking and smoking.

Randy's absolutely right cellphones kill enjoying a show now. Thankfully seen him 20 times before the phone craze. However though wish he would come past Charlottesville would be awesome to not have to.drive to Va Beach or Richmond.
Ah I get him when he says people viewing the show through the screen I went to my first concert recently and it was the slayer concert they were great and my neck still hurts thank you lamb of god you were great 🤟🏼
I love Randy and Lamb of God But I really feel like he doesn't want to be in a metal band and would just love it if Lamb of God turned back to Burn the Priest, and they just play punk music from now on. I also kinda wish he would make a separate Punk band anyway.
Also yes I like to record bits of a show I'm seeing on my phone in still absorbed in the zone but the video is something for my scrapbook of digitial memories.
My dad raised me on The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, etc. My high school gym teacher also liked classic rock but recommended that I try Metallica. At first I pushed back hard. I said “Ah, that stuff is just noise.” Eventually I gave them a listen and I fell in love with the speed and intensity. Fuckin’ Fight Fire With Fire, man! I started listening to Slayer, Megadeth, etc. but I refused to listen to “growl” metal as I called it. Then I started listening to Pantera which is kinda 1/3 of the way to death metal. Then my sister introduced me to Lamb of God (against my will initially) which is 2/3 of the way to death metal. Thank you Mr. Sullivan. Without you, I never would have opened my mind to music that I dismissed because of my dad’s hatred of it. I also must thank my sister, Katie, to whom I owe her push to introduce me to bands that make Metallica look like Bon Jovi.
Randy, I grew up singing Acid Bath note for note and never realized there were other singers in the band... Always screamed Pantera to the walls... Then YOU guys came along... Sad day I had to become a producer and touring DJ. I'm damned near ashamed of me, but I'm also killing stages solo without splitting the creativity or the take...
100% correct about how people are not a part of the concert. Seen them recently opening for Slayer and half of the crowd was watching them through a "view finder" phone.
