Here is how I gut, clean and cook a trout while on a camping trip. There are many ways to clean fish and cook them and this is just my way... not necessarily the right way:)
Music in my videos is sourced from the RU-vid Audio Library and my brother in law, Trey Harris. Credits are as follows:
Intro song: Trey Harris
Main Song: Plastic Or Paper by Wes Hutchinson
Last song: Park Bench by Gunnar Olsen

I liked the carrying stick. Also, finally someone who didn't fillet a trout. Small trout are easier eaten the way you did it. But I never saw a skinned whole trout. Usually they are cooked skin on

Excellent diy videos, what you do is really admirable. Re trout, this is how I do it : I always leave the skin on, but after degutting the fish, I'd use a knife and delustre it (and at the same time clean that slimey outer layer it has). I fry it more or less the same as your FIL, but sometimes also grill it, using just a little bit of olive oil (that's healthier than frying). Now, whether frying or grilling, I always hack garlic and chives thin, add salt, paper and a few drops of olive oil and make a sticky mass out of it to rub into the inside where the guts were. If you want your trout with the skin after the frying, try to dry it as much as you can and don't throw it in oil unless it's boiling well. Greetings from Croatia

But now I'm excited to regain that lost project. I'm thinking standy TTT with a pop top... so the main body will be in between TD and full TTT height... but not totally sure yet... but that's whats in the plans:) Would love to see your TD if you wouldn't mind sending some pics:) joe

Interesting I've never skinned a trout before. We just clean, roll them in cornmeal and fry in butter. One idea I have heard of but never tried leave the head on and put them in the freezer, wait until they are almost frozen then holding onto the head with one hand and the meat with the other give it a twist and pull and you are supposed to be able to pull all the bones out.
