Roadpro Oven on Amazon: amzn.to/33VfzxX
Today we meet Tim who uses a Roadpro Portable Stove to cook some of his simple meals. He enjoys it a great deal for its convenience and ease of cooking. It's powered by a cigarette lighter plug and is great for warming up frozen meals, leftovers, and other convenience foods. It really is great for "bachelor" food!

I'm a corn bread fan, too, and here's a trick to brown the top...about 15-20 minutes before done, pull loaf pan out and cover top with foil. Flip pan over so top sits on bottom of oven. It does brown! Bon appetit!

Love mine. Paid for itself feeding three people ONE meal on a trip. Have used for three years. Here are my tips. Use a Crock-Pot liner. Essentially baking in a bag. No cleaning needed and leftovers have a bag. Pre pack meals ingredients in the crock pot bag and have easy to grab. We love two packs pre cooked penne pasta, 1 small can tomato paste, 1 can cooked spinach drained and one can artichoke hearts partially drained. Mix all together and drive with the oven plugged in 30 minutes. Quick to heat refried beans for burritos or nachos. Start cooking whole potatoes at the beginning of the trip about two hours. Thirty minutes before you want to eat add canned chilli and drive thirty more minutes.

I'd replace the aluminum foil with glass Tupperware that I can store later. Silicone is a pain to wash. A tip given by a stranger at the supermarket that over the years make me look like I'm a good cook...a can of onion soup, some tiny Potatoes, carrots and stew meat. No salt, no water needed. Keep on driving. The best home made stew by noon. You can also use onion soup mix if you want to save space and weight but add some water.

As a small child in the 60s my parents made our first of many trips across country from coast to coast. One of my fondest memories is a coil my parents had, it went in the cigarette lighter spot & they were able to warm the baby s bottle ,make a cranky child some hot cocoa, or a sleepy dad a hot coffee. That coil was a Godsend to our family of four children under 5, my parents & Grandma ! Reminds me of how far we've come with our travel gadgets. Thanks for the review 👍

I've owned 1 for years. Worth the money . I use foil or the aluminum loaf pans Bob described. The pans can be found at stores such as Dollar Tree ,etc. for about 3 to 5 pans for a dollar. Truck stops will be about a buck a piece. That's where foil comes in handy. I'm a trucker also.

I use a small bread pan inside as opposed to the disposable pans. I had to clip the handles off the end to fit. And I pour about 1/4" of water in the bottom so it doesn't dry out breaded foods.

I've had one of these for years now, and think they're great!!! I agree that they're best used while driving, as they're inefficient and draw a LOT of power. You're better off using a microwave or hot plate if your inverter can handle it when parked and running off solar, as those will cook things quicker on less power overall. I bought a rigid aluminum loaf tray at Walmart that I had to slightly bend to make fit inside the oven, but it lets me remove it for cleaning and so there's no risk of damaging the interior. (Trays work better than aluminum foil for things like soup/stews.) I'll pour a little water in it before I place the tray inside to conduct heat better from the bottom and surround the tray a little, which has the benefit of adding humidity to keep things from drying out too much.

I work outside sales in a pickup. Really gets old and expensive eating out. I found one of these while in a Loves. Decided to give it a try. Its money well spent!!! I use it a lot, especially in rainy or cold weather. It makes great oatmeal from the packets with a small bottle of milk from the dollar store. Here is one that's quick and easy. Cheesy Chicken Spagetti 2 packs of ramen noodles not the seasonings 2 cans of sweet sue chicken 1 jar of tostitos salsa con queso Cook until ramen noodles are done. Happy travels!!!!

I do spaghetti in mine ALL the time, hotdogs, chicken... set a timer on my phone and WAH-LAH!!!! We also have the butane stove that we bought before this one and we RARELY use that one anymore. This thing is perfect!! P.S., get some Walmart colorful Bungie cords. THE BLUE ONE* holds this together when the little snap handle breaks!

If you want a better alternative to foil I use parchment paper. 200ft is cheap, more nonstick, more eco-friendly, and can stand the heat of any oven type. Don't confuse it with wax paper. I get mine at Sam's Club but you can get it other places. We have lined pizza pans, cookie sheets, loaf pans with meatloaf or baked goods with no problems and no sticking. I also think things like cookies don't burn like on foil. I'm not a nomad but if I was $25-35 for an oven is a great deal if you have the solar or are driving!

for years buying one of these things and my wife finally did it. I bought the Koolatron model since it uses 9 amps instead of 12 that the road pro does. So it might take a little longer to warm stuff up but usually in an1.5 to 2 hours I got piping hot food. Wish I had bought one years ago.I've been trucking 10 years and I've only had that for a year.I also can and will use foil on the bottom but most of the time I use glass Tupperware found at the dollar stores. Saves tons of money especially if you're a day cab driver, but even Long haul it's better to shop at Walmart than it is at the truck stop for food and if you got the real 12 volt refrigerator plus a 12 volt plugin style also from Koolatron (they work better than the igloo/Coleman ones). You should at least easily have food for a week or two if packed right.. sandwiches and salads get old real quick

I live in my van and I’ve been feeding myself via a RoadPro for the last year. It’s fantastic. I use the 2 lbs aluminum loaf pans to heat up pre cooked meals from Smiths or Safeway, or soups, beans, frozen meals, etc. I’ve even reheated left over burritos. I've heated water to make pour-over coffee or milk for hot chocolate. Last year I reheated my thanksgiving "doggie bag". As you said, this draws 10-12 amps so unfortunately it does not work on my Suaoki 220 portable power station which only outputs 5w from the dc port. I power it via the van's c/l port (engine running at least 50% of the cooking time). Thx for the tip on the cookies and French bread pizza I’m always looking for something new to try. Overall I highly recommend the RoadPro.

(Food Grade Silicone Bags) are the way to cook with these "unless you want something browned/crisp". No throwing away tinfoil or scarring the surface at all. I have one of these in my Micro RV along with the Road Pro Water Heater, and Fry Pan - they work very well! FYI - I always place my food on the dash or out somewhere in the sun to thaw or even warm up to room temp before cooking - this cuts the cooking time in half and saves energy/battery power. Note: Runs great off my Jackery 500.

It’s great for reheating already cooked food like leftovers. I wouldn’t try to cook raw meat - low and slow may produce unfriendly/bad bacteria. I found a pan the right size on Amazon - no throw away aluminium foil. I raise the pan off the bottom with a canning jar metal ring - prevents scorching. Nice to have a hot meal ready to eat after driving!
