Mama Mai secretly likes Jeannie to not know how to cook her favorite meal bc all moms still wants to feel needed. Nothing like one of your babies asking for her fav meal that only you can cook 😂

Mama Mai and Paul should have a cooking show of their own. Paul's calm against Mama Mai's energy is quite balancing. They can just craft new recipes from anything.

Jeannie not interested in cooking and her mother knows that. Mama Mai more interested in teaching Paul because she knows he's is teachable and what's to learn. This is alot of work.

Oh Mama Mai got me when she told Jeannie if she wanted to know how it's done then she can take the time to watch her Hello Hunnay show and she can learn from there. Literally LOL!! Jeannie's facial expression to me was like "The hell you say?" These two crack me up! I just love how Mama Mai cooks. I'd love to be in the kitchen and soak up all her knowledge. Jeannie is hilarious! She kept saying “Mom, I want to learn how to do this” but she was not there early enough to help. She reminds me of my cousin, who is sweet, but a diva. She probably didn’t want to touch anything that would mess up her nails:-) When you’re in a kitchen, your hands get dirty and I don’t think Jeannie is that type.

Looks so good. The aroma in the kitchen must be off the charts awesome. Jeannie is so blessed and appreciative that her Mom's recipe is now preserved on video to watch, learn, and savor the moment! You had me at "homemade" recipe.

Thirdable, This Bun Rieu dish looks so good, imma have to look for it on the internet to see where l can find it so I can try it out for myself! I learned to cook my favourite Vietnamese foods in university when I was away from home and the comfort of lunch with my mom whenever I wanted at pho restaurants I grew up going to. I learned to use chopsticks at 4, and researched recipes and combined them by the taste I loved... so when Jeannie came out with this I felt like I had to watch bc it’s one of the only mainstream* celebrity type representations of Vietnamese cooking I have seen. I wasn’t expecting there to be such a big gap between how excited Jeannie said she was about making bun Rieu, vs her actions and attitude. There wasn’t even an apology for being late and not being there to help, just an expectation that everyone would wait for her when it’s her own mother cooking and who knows how much time just getting everything. It’s fine to be late, and to be slower to learn, but to be giving attitude/raising one’s voice/be upset that no one waited for her AND say how this is her favourite dish.... can Mama Mai have a show where she just cooks with Paul? Vietnamese food is so special especially when passed down. This is the only video I’ve seen where it’s not truly respected, which sucks since this feels like the only celeb representation I have encountered
