I have IBS and what helps the most with bloating are probiotics and fermeted foods (kefir, komucha, sauerkraut, etc.) Also tryto eat at similiar times everyday, herbal teas and take walks after big meals. If you bloating continues maybe you could be teasted for food alergies or consult a specialist

I also find fermented foods help! I take probiotics once a day too. I have IBS as well. A fibre supplement is super important for me. Psyllium husk fibre is what I use. The supplement made the bloating worse for a week, and then improved it hugely after that

What helps for me (but i don't have an extreme bloat) is going for a walk after my meals. I feel like it starts my digestion. Also sometimes bloating can be linked to stress, and being outside especially in nature can also really help reduce your stress levels. I do realize it can be hard to find the time to go into nature after dinner (because girl, i can't) but maybe even a walk around the street would help!!

Exactly the same, I removed all bread from my intake along with as many dairy products as I could, and no potatoe, chips etc, even if cooked n an air fryer, and now only ever have unsweetewned Oat milk, but, I do still eat eggs, they don't seem to affect me and feeling like I'm about to pop.

Hey Taz! It's so great you're working on your gut health! I found that Yakult didn't help (personally) due to its higher refined sugar content so I ended up with the plain (green) kefir drink. I also found that if I ate my dinner at least 2-3 hours before I went to sleep, that helped my food digest overnight. I'm a performer, however, in my current job it's more acting/singing based so I try and do yoga/pilates to help the body move to keep digestion going. Good luck on your journey, I know you'll find your exact flow when the time comes! hugs, Jasmine x

Hey Taz, Just on what you mentioned about the link between fibre and bloating. You’re completely right, fibre takes a lot longer to digest and the bacteria that do digest it produce gas as a byproduct which is what might cause the bloating you mentioned. Try to slowly increase the amount of fibre into your diet and this should help to reduce bloating. And just noting on what you were saying about gut health, fibre is key to gut health! It acts as food to the bacteria in your gut and so is classified as a prebiotic. Even though fibre can cause gas/boating, not having enough can do the same too. Plus the digestion of fibre by bacteria produces tons of beneficial metabolites! Hope this helps, love your videos!

This is the best approach. I have Celiacs and something called galactosemia. I had to track everything to figure it out. After years of distress - I am off gluten, anything with lactose or galactose and the only time I have an issue is when I make a mistake. But it was the food diary that truly helped. Good idea.

Could be yeast in bready stuff. Sometimes they put a lot of yeast in bread dough to make it rise faster instead of letting it rise slowly, and the yeast continues to release gas in your belly. Wheat intolerance can also cause skin problems. You could try cutting out wheat and see if it has any effect on your body.
@utkarshsharma3022
@utkarshsharma3022 3 месяца назад
Yeast in bread dies when it's baked in the oven and once it dies, it can't produce more gas, so no the problem is not yeast. if she doesn't have a gluten intolerance, she can continue to eat bread normally

Cut down on spice, as that causes acid reflux, and try and eat yoghurt regularly, as well as try and chew your food properly. It is also very important to eat early in the evening. This allows the food to digest, and green tea or mint tea settles your gut. All this advice is tried and tested as I've had the same issues for years, and when i made lifestyle changes, it made a huge difference. Ps, you can cook dahl without fennel seeds. Also, mustard seeds are great, too!😊

From someone with Chron's disease you have to try stuff out. Noone is the same so there is a lot of trys and errors but eventually you will figure out what suits you and your gut best. Something to note is also that the majority (at least for me) of the foods that are great for the gut just taste terrible BUT i promise you get used to it with time. What really helps me out is cabbage juice (tastes absolutely foul but does wonders). Maybe give the natural organic Kefir one more go as the flavoured ones usually contain lots of sugar and additives or try mixing berries or fruit you like with it in a blender. Foeniculum tea with Manuka honey is also one of my faves. Hope this helps xoxo

I struggled with bloating SO MUCH in the exact way you described. Like so much pain that I couldn’t sit down. I went to the gastroenterologist and they just labeled me with IBS, which doesn’t actually tell you what is wrong or provide many ways to help. The gastroenterologist suggested low FODMAP foods which may be worth a try. For me, after much trial and error, I have found what works about 95% of the time! I eat yogurt every day (the kind with artificial sweetener because sugar gives me headaches and I can’t stand sour yogurt), and I eat more whole foods. Don’t get me wrong, I still eat processed food, but I stick to processed carbs because it’s easier to digest. It takes a while for your gut to get used to the level of fermentation required to digest vegetables, beans, and other high fiber foods, so you may get a belly ache and bloating if you suddenly increase intake. This should fade in a few days. I also avoid fast food like the plague. I still eat it, but I am smart about when I eat it and know what I’m getting myself into. Specifically french fries, fried foods, and pizza make me blow up like a balloon. Hopefully this helps! ❤

I went through the exact same thing you described with bloating a few years ago when i was going through a rough time in my life. After every single meal I would get super bloated, like sometimes I looked pregnant, even if all i ate was plain chicken or toast, and then it turned into stomach sickness after meals. So i researched and I found out it was IBS. What i did at first was follow a low-fodmap diet suuuuper strictly until i could eat a meal and feel fine. I alto took some gel supplements with peppermint oil in them every morning and before meals and drank hot water with ACV, lemon and ginger in the mornings. After my stomach calmed down a bit i slowly started reintroducing things to find out what worked and what didnt. Now i only have to avoid gluten and dairy and can only eat nuts and garlic in small amounts. My main tip is be patient with your body. Usually IBS is connected to your mental health so the best thing you can do is take it easy and give your body time. It has taken three years for me to get to this point, but i know for some people it only took one year or even a couple of months. Everyone's body is different and what works for me might not work for you. Just be kind to yourself and your body. I know it can be frustrating and even scary to eat sometimes knowing it could go badly, but once you find what works it will be so much better.

I just got diagnosed with IBD after having severe bloating for a couple of years. The stuff that definitely helps is cutting out certain foods, I got put onto a lowfodmap diet for 2 months, and I'm continuing with it. The only issue is that the diet is quite restrictive, and you can't eat a lot of stuff: wheat, soy, dairy, most stone fruit, etc. But I definitely felt much better after I went onto it. I would recommend cutting certain things that trigger your bloating out and then slowly adding them back to your diet one by one. I would also avoid taking antibiotics if you don't need to and if you do taking some probiotics supplements along with it to protect your gut.

I struggled on and off for a couple of years with bloating along with so many other symptoms but after many tests, I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance and dairy intolerance. It’s been 9 weeks since I took both out of my diet and it’s been really strange not being bloated but it’s relieving, literally every symptom went away. They can diagnose it as IBS which is the easy option but most of the time it isn’t that. It’s worth getting tested as it could be a “mild” start to a disease or intolerance which will get worse as time goes on. Hope you get to the bottom of it and feel better ❤

Yes looking after your gut. Reduce refined sugar eat prebiotics and probiotic foods. Fermented food and drinks. Yeasted bread can be a problem too. Prober sourdough bread is a slightly better choice but make sure it just has flour, water, salt and starter, supermarket bread isn't good even their sourdough style bread, go to a real bakery. M&S has these Zoe gut shots which are amazing, one a day has helped me. Look into the Zoe program too, really good program to help with gut health. Gluten also has been a slight problem but maybe an allergy test can help with that. Good luck, also love Pilates it's amazing. ❤❤❤❤

I just went to hospital for a gut health issue and I spoke about my bloating to my doctor his suggestions were that you need more probiotic in your food so he asked me to take more curd or buttermilk on a daily basis , and I have started drinking kombucha too so these 2 have been a game changer for me and I also take fermented food consistently in form of dosas and idlis which are south indian dishes made with fermented rice batter also it's pretty easy to make and meal prep so do check that out also I have heard kimchi is so good for your gut too so if it's easily available for you just go for it . Also add turmeric to the ginger lemon infused water and drink it first thing in the morning cause that's good for gut and skin too. Also about lentil bloating is a very real thing and to avoid it my mom adds greens or veggies in the lentil or makes sure i have them at least along with my dal in a sabji form to reduce the bloating and increased nutritional value so go for it too. Also try avoiding processed food and refined sugar try to go for more of jaggery and honey for your sweeteners instead of white sugar too.

Very late to this so doubt you’ll see this message, but the FODMAP process made such a huge difference to me 😊 you can get advice from an nhs nutritionist via a referral through your GP which I highly recommend as it can be a tricky process to navigate. It can help to highlight if there are any trigger foods (more specifically foods containing certain fermentable oligosacarides (sugars)) that your body struggles to digest and are therefore causing bloating/tummy problems. Really hope you can start to feel better soon. I’ve been there and it’s so miserable, but it does get better ❤

Low FODMAP elimination diet is the gold standard for gut issues according to the specialists I’ve seen. If nothing else, you can learn what to eat *less* of/avoid. It’s good to know if something is going to cause bloating before you eat it! The way I found works best for me is as many whole foods as possible, fiber powder every morning in a protein shake, walking on the treadmill, eating as many fermented products as I want to eat in a day, and not eating meat (I still have fish from time to time). That’s what works for me, and the low fodmap diet helped me figure out that I can eat things like onions and lentils as long as I do these other things. :)

hey taz, i had the exact sensation as you whenever I ate. And the bloatedness sometimes led to an upset tummy. I decided to go get a blood test because of a recommendation and realized my body had "delayed hypersensitivity reactions" to a lot of foods that I ate repeatedly that caused the bloating and discomfort. It's not fatal, but just really uncomfortable. So if you can, I'd highly recommend going to check. At the moment, I also take probiotics as a supplement to help things move. I hope this helps you!

FYI: if you are nearing your 30s, your gut health is impacted massively by the female hormonal cycle. Unfortunately, medical science equates female health to (only) reproductive health, hence not much research had been done, atleast till the 90s, to find the impact of the 28-day hormonal cycle of females (biologically) on other organs of the body, apart from the uterus. It is slowly evolving as more and more women are talking about health issues more openly. Had been through these changes without any knowledge or medical care in my early 30s. So, trying to help you all make sense. Hope this helps!

I would recommend peppermint tea after dinner! Also try to avoid large quantities of onion and garlic, it's soooo normal for your stomach to be sensitive and bloat etc. I'm coeliac so I understand! If it is really bothering you, try gluten-free bread for a few weeks, warburtons gluten free tiger loaf is really nice. A lot of gluten-free food can taste stale, but there are good products! while some people may think its healthier to eat gluten-free its not a fad diet, however it can help with digestion.

Yoga really helped me with bloating. I generally bloat on my PMS and my stomach used to get very tight. I started doing 6-7 Surya namaskar (Salutation to the Sun) everyday and I have noticed a difference! Slowly incorporate it into your routine if you can. Hope this helps! ❤

What caused my bloating was drinking through straws. I changed my water bottle for one without a straw and now I'm almost never bloated. It was so painful!

Might sound old granny. But I really recommend starting my day with All bran original cereal with some sultanas sprinkled on top. Sorts me right out (make sure you buy Kellogg's, highest amount of bran)

Take a digestive enzyme with your food. Depending on the brand, you may have to take it with a meal, before or after.

Hey Taz, if you think that any of your indian curries or dals are spicy, you can always add water to them and boil them for a few minutes and adjust the salt accordingly. This will help in reducing the spice in it ❤

For me personally, bloating turned out to be a lactose problem. I can't even stomach yoghurt, which they say is usually more likely to be accepted well even by moderately lactose intolerant people. It took me a year or two to figure it out. But once I did figure it out, the change was huge - I felt so much better, and even my skin got clearer.

My bloating was put down to IBS. Do you keep a food diary? It might be gluten or something else causing the bloating. Might be worth checking it out.
