I think mustard oils deserved a special mention. The graphic on mustard Oils in the description seems to be too different from what is claimed in the market. The "Kachi Ghani" process or the Cold Pressed process is what is claimed by most manufacturers like Fortune, Patanjali, Dabur etc. It is also claimed to be cholesterol free, but the graphic in the description claims otherwise. Need more clarity if the Cold Pressed Mustard Oils are actually what they're claimed to be.
Exactly forget about manufacturers claims our grandmothers and mothers have been using Mustard Oil since so long and also promote it to us for cooking. They're all fine. Need to understand what the real deal is.
Started using cold pressed peanut oil since last few months it's costs slightly more than refined peanut oil but it's the only cold pressed oil affordable . Affordable cold pressed oils are hard to find becoz small shops operate at low scale and need to check purity ppl adulterate it and still sell for higher price.🤦 Whole truth oil anytime soon?😁
Asking for a like and subscribe at the beginning of a video is an almost sure-fire way to get many people to click off the video entirely. That said, I think your channel content is great and much needeed.
My North Indian friends always mocked and made fun of my South Indian food since we use coconut oil. They kept advising me to switch to vegetable oil because its healthy and appetising. Thankfully, I never switched. Years later, its all these northie friends of mine that has hypertension, diabetes, heart complications, thyroid and PCOS. I'm glad I listened to my mother and grandparents.
Thank you, please tell me what kind of coconut oil is needed for cooking, does it harden after that? please can you tell me, I have never cooked with coconut oil.
In TamilNadu,we use Sesame oil, Groundnut oil traditionally. We will buy seeds and pressed them to oil in oil mills.Even though unrefined traditional oils are good to consume but not suitable for deeper frying.its better to reduce frying of foods.nowdays more health experts advices to avoid factory made oils
this is the first video i watched on this channel and i love it,thank you so much for all this valuable information, thank you thank you,i did some research on my own as well and i believed this are all true.
Smoke point: This is the temperature at which the oil starts to burn. Vegetable oils like sunflower oil have the highest smoke point, followed by olive oil and then coconut oil. Ghee has the highest smoke point. Processing: There are two main types of processing - refined and unrefined. Unrefined oils are minimally processed and are considered to be healthier. Refined oils go through a chemical process to remove impurities. Cholesterol: Coconut oil is a saturated fat but it has MCTs which are good for brain health. Olive oil is good for heart health because it reduces LDL cholesterol. Here are some tips for choosing healthy cooking oil: Read the ingredient list: Look for unrefined, extra virgin or cold pressed oils. Taste the oil: If you can't taste the fruit the oil was extracted from, it is probably refined. Don't just focus on smoke point: While a high smoke point is good for frying, it doesn't necessarily mean the oil is healthy. Consume in moderation: All oils are high in calories.
@danielstehura9657 Really confused because smoke point of unrefined coconut oil and olive oil is very less. So isnt it dangerous if used for cooking ?
Really informative content on oils! 👌 Speaking of which, have you tried Honey Lavender Magic as a home remedy for burns? It's been a game-changer for me! 💜
Great content. But would suggest you read 'Deep Nutrition by Catherine Shanahan for a better understanding of saturated fats. I still think we are missing a key point when we discuss this topic, that of catalytic oxidation and how unsaturated fats are the most prone to it.
Sir the information given by you is very useful. Please do it in Hindi also.🙏 I can share it with my relatives. My relatives have some problem in English.

Cold pressed Canola Oil are good right? I have replaced all refined oils in my house and use only cold pressed oils where canola is the cheapest and olive oil the most expensive
Great video! Few things I felt were leading or far fetched- 1. Reliance on 'studies' - did you study all papers? What was the sample size of the said paper? Who sanctioned the paper? How were other factors controlled especially where life span is the variable monitored 2. You can deep fry between 150-175°C - I don't see why other oils don't serve the purpose Some more bits but you get the idea - over generalised to make a strong statement Unfortunately this was not the whole truth!
Hey Shashank, if I understood correctly, even expeller pressed sunflower oil is no good since it still contains a lot of LDL, even though it doesn't contain bleach or hexane. For Indian cooking using olive oil, which kind of olive oil is recommended? Regular, virgin or pomace?
Cold pressed cooking has very low smoking point for example cold pressed mustard oil has smoking point around 90°C, Therefore cooking below is smoking point is not possible and cooking above smoking point forms harmful compounds and nutrition get lost then does it make any sense to buy cold pressed oils
Ghee and avocado oils are the best of the lot to fry food ( and ofcourse avocado oil may put a hole in your pocket). But just a reminder: Frying is not the healthiest cooking method anyway, so please stay away from it as much as you can!
First Industries came and promoted Refined oils killing natural small scale oil producers. Now so called cold pressed start ups are doing same. This is nothing but one industry trying to gain foothold over another and taking consumers for a toss. Eat drink everything in normal. Life will be normal.
Dr Eric says something else and over n above Dr. Steven Gundry says whatever is stated in his book "plant paradox" is a bible. Further, he go on prasing olive oil. This knowledge is overdosing. Our ancestors used to live a healthy life and don't get into so much detail. I think resorting to their teachings is conducive.
Furthermore, there is one more channel on dis youtube plantform called SAAOL where Dr. Bimal Chhajer appeals to avoid oil in any form completely. Even walnuts, peanuts etc. I'm doomed
