Great video. They really gave you a "best of" of Southern German cooking. Unverwechselbar literally means "unconfusable", something you cannot confuse for anything else, so something like "unique".

Love this video as my mom is from Ludwigsburg and I've been there a couple times. It's also making me hungry for all this food as that's what we grew up on. 🙂 You also seem like a very nice and respectful guy ( wiped socks on mat before going in the house.) who was raised right. That moment, if he goes crazy about a wood stove and I had it all my life and it was nothing special 😂 but seriously, the heat that a wood stove emits just feels completely different and nicer than the heat of a regular oil heater or something.

Hi Conner, I usually see a lot of Videos from the south of Germany and only few from the North of Germany, usually only Hamburg or Berlin. So, I would love to see you doing the "Ostfriesen Abitur" @ Wittmund. Also interesting in that Area is the 'Meyer Werft' in Papenburg, if you want to see a Cruise Ship going backwards via a river torwards the Northsea. Since you are from Florida I expect that you migh like to go to the North sea and like to see small fishing trawlers which you can see in all these small villages like Greetsiel, Bensersiel and so on. Also all these small island like Norderney, Langeoog, Spiekeroog might be interesting. And of course, you need to try to speak 'Plattdeutsch', that would be fun!

Brezeln stammt eher aus dem schwäbischen bzw. elsässischem Raum und wurden als Fastengebäck erfunden. Nach Bayern kamen sie später.

Sie haben aber definitiv bayrische Brezn gegessen, keine schwäbischen Brezeln. Der Unterschied liegt unter anderem in der Dicke der kleinen Arme. Bei schwäbischen Brezeln sind die dünner und knuspriger. So schwer das einem Badener fällt, aber die schwäbische Variante schmeckt tatsächlich besser.

No. becuase the "bavarian" spätzle are from the bavarian part of swabia. I did not say Württemberger Spätzle. Swabia is split in one part in bavaria and the bigger part is in Württemberg. Therefor it is swabian. an if you want to be precise you can say that the knöpfle are a speciality of bavarian swabia. but not bavarian. It is swabia.

Dude, You should really try Sauerbraten with semmelklos. It's made different from region to region but as i know it from my grandma, it's like heaven on earth. Maybe you know the normal Klos but this is like 20 times bigger than a normal one and looks completely different.

Weißwurst soll das Mittagläuten nicht hören.. means white sausage should not hear the noon chime of curch bells... traditional they get eaten in the morning only, the reason for it, in the past they did not preserved the white sausages and made it daily fresh early in the morning so they were eaten mainly as a second breakfast(together with fresh Brezel) between 10 and 11 am Today white sausage is called typical bavarian were they introduce it in 1857... but white sausage is much older and from France were it is called Boudin Blanc they are from the 14th century They tryed to get a gepgraphical indication protection for true Munic white sausage in 2005 but this was reject by a patent court in 2009 because since decades most white sausage are not made in Munic or the area around Munic

You have to try Schweinshaxe (traditional bavarian pork knuckle). Very crunchy, very tasty! :D Currywurst is also really good, typical for Berlin. I would also recommend Döner (Kebab) to you. Not really german food, but it was invented by a Turk in Berlin and it's a really popular fastfood in Germany.
