Lou…it wasn’t a let down! I had no idea chocolate chip cookies were invented in Massachusetts! I learned something new today! 🥰 And I liked listening to the camping stories! ❤️
I must tell you that my Alexa sets under my TV so every cooking show when you ask Alexa question I never hear yours because mine always answers. So I have my own little chuckle. My husband gets a kick out of it. Love you both. You two are so sweet and Lou how you tolerate Bro Dan and his shanagians is amazing. Lucky for him you have a sense humor.ol
My Alexa is in my tablet. It does not matter where the tablet is it always responds to Dans voice. I cannot tell.you how many timers I've had to cancel on my tablet. Lol..
Did you see Pawpaw's face when he thought the pizza had clams on it, Lol!! Not sure the cookies were a hit, sure they were but everyone certainly enjoyed talking about camping, isn't it wonderful, all the memories, make lots more!!
So my favorite camping trip was for three reasons, 1: I saved A young boy from drowning in the Suwannee River, he was caught in the current and went flowing past us , I was on the bank. I jumped in got hold of him and had to pull him with one arm while grabbing the tree roots all along the bank back up to where I could pull us out. My Husband was there with our little Son waiting for us. The Boys parents didn’t even know he was missing when I returned him to them, they were drunk! That was A harrowing experience! 2: I conceived my second Son 😊 that weekend after being told I could not have more Children. 3: God confirmed we may be chosen to be someone’s Earth Angel during our lifetime and if we fulfill that mission we will be Blessed! Best Camping Trip Ever! 💞 Blessed Mother of Two Sons! 💕
I cannot express to you how freaking hard I laughed when Buddy popped off with “Someone’s getting probed” 😂😂😂😂 Ow my stomach hurts!😂😂😂😂😂 Y’all are so much fun! Love y’all! ❤
Pasty (Michigan Food) churl/Flickr The wives of hungry Upper Peninsula mine workers made these pocket pastry meals in the 19th century because they were the ultimate convenience foods. When deep in the mines, the men folk could perch a PASTY on their shovel, take a flame to the bottom of that shovel, and heat their lunch right up.
Love your kitchen banter makes me feel normal here 😂🤣and by the way you did us proud here in Iowa making the Maidrite's so happy to see your family liked them 🥰Dan I was thinking taking turns picking someone's home and telling their favorite memory being in it my family use to play this when we lived closer 💞 Sandy PS- Lou nailed it 💌
Ya'll are great storytellers. We camped a lot. My Grandparents lived in New York and California. We took turns driving and flying, to see them, every summer and Christmas. Mom wanted to stay in fancy hotels, and Dad wanted to camp. So we took turns, every other night. We were at Peaks of Otter, staying at the Lodge, but hiking. We climbed up to a meadow, and ate a picnic. The whole meadow was full of wild strawberries. So we hung out grazing on those lil strawberries, until we heard something, and looked over to the edge of the woods, where we all gradually realized there was a herd of elk, watching us. We figured they wanted some strawberries, too, so we went back down to the Ranger Station. We told them what we'd seen, and they had us write it down. That was in 1978. Years later, hiking with my sweetie, we stopped by the same Station, and found out that my family had been the last to encounter that herd of elk. This was in the mid 90's! Since then, they've recovered, or been re- introduced. But it was pretty neat, realizing all those years later, how lucky we'd been, back in 1978, to see the last natural wild elk at Peaks of Otter.
Dan & Lou, I loved this video. I love hearing the stories about camping! I laughed when you told the story about the two little girls singing Ring around the Rosie. You do know that Jake can’t listen to that song today, as he was so traumatized by it. Poor Jake! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for an awesome video! 💜💜💜💜💜
Norma here. Every time you said Massachusetts, I kept hearing the Bee Gees song by the same name. We went to Cape Cod on our honeymoon. Beautiful state. When I was in HS, my friends and I were obsessed with making chocolate chip cookies.using the Toll House recipe. They were so delicious. I prefer them soft and chewy instead of thin and crispy. Lou, I have to agree with Dan. I can eat a ton of buttered pancakes topped with maple syrup. You guys haven’t really been doing much cooking lately. It doesn’t matter, I just love watching you two interact. I also love listening to your family and all the stories.
Hello Dan and Lou, love your channel you and your family are great. I know you still have one state before minnesota but something very common to eat here is wild rice hotdish, minnesota is known for harvesting wildrice, another food common here is tatertot hotdish.I look forward to watching your channel every week.
Yum, I love cod fish and clam chowder, personally. But, I live in Florida and really love fish. It's good for you, too. My husband loves chocolate chunk cookies, too. I love Lou's version of going home to go to sleep when camping. Lol When I was in my 20s, I used to be much more active and enjoyed going to a state park near the beach that had showers and electric so we could plugbin fans and not be so hot in the tent. Now I do "glamping" in little cabins in a local state park and they were built in the 30s. Simple cabins but electricity and a view of the lake and easy walk to fish.
I loved hearing everyone’s stories. I got a camping story from our vacation to Key West, we had a giant iguana come inside our tent over night. Watching everyone run out screaming at 2am was pretty hilarious. I’ll remember that forever
Look forward to your cooking videos. You are either spicing things up with the food or with each other. Even when you are getting on each other’s nerve you still have a good sense of humor. ….. enjoying the storytelling time as well. See ya in the kitchen next week 👍👋♥️🤗
Your cooking & family gatherings are what memories are made from. The cookies looked amazing pizza is always a win my book the look on everyone's face about the oysters was funny thanks for sharing you time & happiness with us. Stay safe 🙏🍪⛺️
Another great episode, Dan and Lou. Those cookies looked so good, I think I might have to make some soon. Loved all the family stories, too! Thanks for sharing.
I love hearing all the different stories! Bri I would love to hear how you and Laramie met. I didn’t know he was in the Marine Corps and loved hearing his stories!
Loved hearing all the stories. I really like that Laramie is more comfortable on video lately. Feel bad for him though that he hasn't experienced a truly awesome camping trip. I don't make cookies often and have never cared for puffy cookies. I learned once that if you pick up the cookie sheet and bang it down half or 3/4 through cooking, it will flatten the cookies so they're not so puffy. It worked for me and they were awesome. They looked similar to the picture you showed in the book. Ideas... maybe a funny story about a family member. I know we've heard several, but there's got to be more 😊
I love how your family gets together to do your tasting every week and I love the stories and the laughter. It’s something my family doesn’t do much of these days. And Lou you didn’t post the recipe, again! 🫣🤣😂🤣😂
❤❤❤❤❤ Dan ,you and Lou are AWSOMENESS... and finally, whoever watched this video knows where Chocolate Cookies are from !!! Truly loved all the different stories and, for future references, make it a 60-minute video...YES, I WILL WATCH 60- + minutes of Y'ALL telling stories. Now as to what to tell stories about... I would like to hear about like how Lou and you found each other... and go on downline with whoever is there... like Bri, how did she meet Mister "L"...😂 Oh ,the fact that Buddy had a picture of the paw print 😂😂😂 he must have been scared out of his witts...😂😂😂 Y'ALL Rock ❤❤❤❤❤

👏😂 WHAT A FUN INTRO ! I loved that Dan and Lou ! 🎉 I also love that you have added in fun questions for your cooking videos, even love that you add in some animal clips as well ❤
I have a great camping story! We were camping at Gulf Shores Al. We lived near by so we went often. After swimming all day having a great time, we were sitting at the camp fire. I was sitting on the tailgate of a truck with my dad! Here comes out of the water we were in all day, was an alligator. Walked slowly right through our camp site! 🐊
My camping experiences were great as a child, we would go to State Parks such as Garner in Concan, TX or Turner Falls Park in Daivis OK. My father would arrange for us to go with his cousin's families as a big group. Nothing compares the mornings, feeling nice and cool, listening to the water running down the creeks/springs. I didn't drink coffee as a child, but the grown ups would always hd the coffee smell in the air. A memorable time, my father in the middle of the night caught an armadillo by the tail, iI remember being scared and excited at the same time. Thanks for reminding me about my own experiences. Love your family's stories.
When my granddaughter was 3 her Dad, who drove a truck long distance, was making a trip to Massachusetts. She told me that he was going to "Masteetuesdy"!!! I laughed so hard, and still do!!!!
My neighborhood is small and backs up to a cemetery. There are a slew of coyotes in the woods between us. That sound is so eerie. Weirder during the day!!
Love your show, wish I could have heard the stories , but just couldn't make it out but watching all y'all for 2 years I still laughed my head off the stories great, the chaos hysterical ♥️ to all cookies looked beautiful, just right!
I absolutely loved listening to everyone's stories .Loved Laramies because my son was in the Marines for 5 yrs . But you all made me laugh so much I just love your families 💕
I'm ANITA: Hey Lou and Dan: Loved this video! I can make home made biscuits, corn bread, and cakes, cookies always fail. I can't bake a pie. Sunrise service on Easter followed by breakfast in fellowship hall I brought my biscuits and they were the first to go. Would I make Cookies or Pies? No! My favorite part of this video was the camping stories. I luv Your Family so much they remind me of mine. Luv From Tenn. God Bless Y'all and God Bless All the Animals People love my strawberry Cheese Cake my own receipe, No Baking Required. Lol
I think the whole Morrow Hill needs to plan a family campout in the old camping places. That would be fun for us and y"all. All the Grandkids would love the memory
Massachusetts is my state 😁. Lou great job at pronouncing it. They used to put the recipe for the cookies o🎉n the back of the Toll House morsel bag. I grew up tenting & camping in a trailer. I'm surprised there weren't any stories of skunk encounters. They're all over here.
I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my mom as an Angel 😇 telling me everything's going to be ok. At first I thought I was dreaming but I know with all my heart it was her standing at the end of my bed. I will never forget that night ..❤
I am a true Floridian born and bred, but lived just inside the New Hampshire border from Massachusetts for a year. We called all those that lived in Massachusetts, Massholes. 😂
You finally made it to my state , Boston Massachusetts ... Lou, you did great pronouncing it ... I'm not a big seafood person. I do eat haddock . You guys need to try Corn Chowda someday. Would love to see that video....
I went to Massachusetts twice in '92 with my ex-fiancé' to Lynn, Mass and got to ride a subway train an hilarious story behind that and also to the Stores....Wonderful memories I will never forget and fun that I will never go to again for different roads we took in life....Best cookie is Chocolate Chip and Second fav is M&M Cookie....lol great camping memories....
This was the best family time and such wonderful stories. I love y'all so much and Daniel you are getting so creative and the whole family is helping ❤ YOU ROCK ❤
I am most excited for next week. Good ole Michigan . Alex will call us Michiganders really don’t have a staple food. Well our mackinaw island fudge and coney dogs may have made that book I wish I had thought of this before I would of sent you all some mackinaw island fudge
Dan pay attention to poor Lou!!!! She did just fine!!!! Lou that proved they really don’t pay attention I know mine doesn’t 😂😂😂😂 so I do things my way and when he ????’s it, well you sir weren’t paying attention so now it’s done my way and in the oven😂😂😂😂
Great video Dan and Lou! I just love hearing everyone share their stories. Cookies looked yummy! My husband makes the best using that same recipe. God bless you all! Love from Canadice NY ❤
Daniel! Nebraska is closer to Texas that Michigan or Minnesota! You made me laugh, oh... and I'm from Massachusetts. I always said Massachusen instead of Massachusite. Neither of these were acceptable to spell check! Oh! How I could fill y'all's ears with stories about clams.
Toll House Cookies (chocolate chip cookies) Whitman, Massachusetts (Plymouth County) where they were made. I live 45 minutes away where they originated. There is a sign where the building stood.
Dan, come up to Boston and hang out for a little while and you will learn an entirely new dialect lol. Then you’ll be wicked smaht lol. The restaurant Ben spoke of is a landmark on “the cape” and have served summer tourists for many many years. But that isn’t the only place to get really good “chowdah” ❤❤❤❤
Love all the fun stories 🥰❤️🥰 a favourite stories when camping with horses, that's my suggestion!! Loved this video, but then again that doesn't tell you much since i love all the videos 😂 Keep up the fun story times 👍 liked that you ran again today 😁 Hey Dan ! You have to practise your pronunciation of Massachusetts, maybe Lou can help since she has it down SPOT ON.
I live in Michigan and My Families favorite meal was pasties. My Mom would make them homemade out of beef or venison. She would make a gravy to pour over top of them and they were very delish. Just an idea for a Michigan meal. Have a Blessed Evening
Daniel & Lou, I'm watching you on my TV RU-vid right now,and y'all asked what is a question we would like answered by everyone, I have, one what was the animal y'all fell in love with when you were younger that made you know you all would love the type of farming that each of you do now?? And then you asked us a question and the answer is yes I love the shorter cooking and the storytelling,,, but I do like the cooking too.and Daniel I just love your wife Lou is funny and nice so I'm going to ask you a favor please never crack an egg on her forehead, that might be funny for kids but not a husband to a wife that's all.oh and thank you both for giving us all a tour around the World every week.😘
