That's such a great math trick! My mom's a math teacher; I'll see if she can teach this to her students to help them learn multiplication more efficiently.

An option that works is EZ Times Table, a book. Students make fun patterns on a blank sheet and create the whole times table. It is available on Amazon or at EZTimesTable. Click on MisterNumbers for a link to the video of a 2nd grader learning multiplication in an hour.

at first, when he was starting too draw the second rectangle, i thought he was going to show us how to multiple fractions using grids which i recently learned in math class xD
