Leila, Is there a way to insert Quick Parts (Document Properties) into a PowerPoint Master slide? Maybe an add-in? The lack of this native functionality has to be an oversight by Microsoft.?
Thanks Leila, this is a great round up of some very useful new functionality. I do hope Microsoft get to some parity between the desktop and web version soon as I believe the desktop version should have everything the web version does.
For those who can't find the lock/unlock feature directly from the context menu while right-clicking, I was able to find the option while customizing the Quick Access Toolbar. Adding it to the menu or the Toolbar should do the trick.
AI Training Coach is awesome/scary. I wonder how long until you can just ask it to do the presentation for you. So you can have a slide deck prepared by an AI, presented by an AI ... time to go fishing!
Hello. I know this comment is a bit of of place. Just wanted to let you know there is a new rival to excel. It's called Rows. Will you be making videos on that too? Or are you locked in to Microsoft and are they blocking your from using rival software? Please let us know
Is there anyway that we could use these option with a PPT template? Let's say for a standard format we need to use for a officially purpose.. but we need a word doc to convert to a PPT on that particular PPT format.
The Online Word to PowerPoint feature is cool. It is a known fact the Images and Tables from the Online Word document get chucked out . Just realized that PowerPoint also does not consider the numbered bullet points in Word. :)(
Thank you for this video! I hope the online features will be added to the desktop version soon, especially to use the automatic slides with personal customized slides templates. And it could be very nice if the lock object feature would work from SlideMaster as well. So far, when you lock objects in SlideMaster view mode, and then add a new slide to your presentation in normal view mode, the objects are not locked anymore. Too bad. It would be very useful to lock some objects like titles once for all.
As always, awesome and actually USEFUL video! :) Thank you so much, Leila. I was just telling my husband the other day how you are a great role model for improving my own Microsoft and (fledgling) RU-vid skills. Much appreciated!
Thanks so much Leila! I was JUST thinking Powerpoint can absolutely do what Loom can. With a lil' search, your video hit the ball outta the poark! Thanks so much. I replied to Mark w. below w/a direct link to Microsoft where folks can activate their add-on through joining their Office Insider. Thanks, Again!
Lock option Lifesaver 😳 Thanks!! 🙏🙏🙏 Great help from the Recording skills too 👏👏👏 Btw Is there a chance that the Coach one could work in Italian too? Thanks in advance 😊
Hi Leila, I am a very old follower of yours and I like the way you explain the topic. Kindly help me... I need to send an auto email using VBA with To, cc, subject, body text, snapshot in email body (excel range where my data/table is stored) and attachments and before sending I want to display it. Regards Mandeep Singh
I am not comfortable with the Coach feature. If it is AI, then the system must be recording something, or comparing it to some AI analyzer. This means it must easily be recorded, and possibly used to train the AI too. If someone is rehearsing some non-public information, or internal company data, what securities does Microsoft give that this data isn't being stored or analyzed without the user's knowledge. While I am not saying this is happening, what assurances do we know this isn't happening. AI is still young. Just because the product helps the user, doesn't mean it can't be taken advantage of.
I was watching your video for Cool PowerPoint Features to up your Productivity | Did you know these? The feature for Agenda and adding 4 additional slides did not work on my end. Could you tell me why?
Thank you Leila. Would you know if that lock object feature is available now in Excel? It would be great to create dashboards using shapes and then lock them in place
I know a few people (myself included) who need that coach feature. We have a monthly meeting with some very senior members of our company and the number of times the presenter says "um" is ridiculous. It was so awful we counted and the "winner" averaged 23 ums per minute. It's one thing to say um when hit with an unexpected question, but completely unacceptable when presenting something you prepared for yourself.
I might be the last one to the party but typing powerpoint.new and rolling into PP online is A++ shortcut. For others as surprised as me: excel.new, word.new, sway.new, all will get you to a new doc/spreadsheet/sway thing. Super cool for keeping hands on the keyboard. Thanks, Leila.
Leila finds hacks and features that no one else does! Very good video 👏🏼 I will try the coach feature, I am always so shy when it comes to practicing. I am not shy delivering the speech, but practice makes me feel vulnerable because it’s not perfect yet.
Thank Ms. Leila. There are always many things to learn from you. I wait always to see what is the the new video since i know there is something excitng to know abou. Thank you alot
tried the Word to PowerPoint feature with a lot of text and it gave me three slides and didn't help me at all. I suspect the feature needs a lot more fine tuning. Thanks for the tip! I just hope they make it better in the near future.
Does a link to excel on sharepoint change from user to user? I have a presentation with multiple links to tables and charts that update like a charm for me but not when the manager I set it up for tries it can't find the source.
As I’ve experienced in all the previous videos you have generously made available, this one is great! Thanks for sharing your expertise … and doing it so professionally, you make it feel like a colleague at my elbow coaching me.
Wow! I didn’t know about any of these features. I only use PPT occasionally in my current role, but these will definitely come in handy one day. My colleagues will be impressed 😃
This is a great video as always. The one feature I did not pay attention to is the presenter coach. Yea, I see the option but never played with it, now I will. Thanks.
"non-judgemental audience with objective feedback?" How does that work? If you want objective feedback, someone has to tell you what they think about it. That is usually called a judgement.
Waw Thank you very much for your new vedio. And I am facing one excel problem. I have 2 numbers in one single cell like 123 (456). Here I want to change font color for only 123 as blue and (456) number should remain same color as black. can u plz tell me the formula..? This will helps me a lot.
WOW, I really wish I had found your channel earlier, but never too late to learn, and I am learning a lot, THANK YOU so much Leila, and a big hello from Australia :-)
I am least knowledgeable about PowerPoint, so this video was 'spot-on' perfect for me. ... and precisely why I look forward to Leila's videos. Once again, 'so well done'! While PPoint is not immediately applicable, I expect it will be later this year. "Presenter Coach" was a surprise to me ... and will be very useful (IMHO ... 'Pace and Pitch'??? ... Leila is the Gold Standard). " ... and I am going to see you in the next video ..." Absolutely ... 'Thursdays w/Leila' are a 'recurring' calendar item ... a 'must-see' event.
