Resist the temptation to tie wrap the connector to lock clip after connector lock tab breaks off. It will side load sensor and wear one side of o ring flat in about 7000 miles lol. Played in this area several times.
Hi, thank you very much for the instructions, what would I ask where to find the temperature sensor in the Audi A4 B7 engine modification 2.0 tdi 16 V code engine BLB
At 0:46 there’s a sensor or something at the top left. The wire is curved around. What sensor is that. My car is losing like a quart every 2 months and all the oil is pointing to it. I unclipped the harness and inside the sensor is flooded with oil
My temp gauge shoots right to the middle on cold start. The fan kicked on a few times but they do not anymore. I have no codes or check E light. When I first start to drive it kinda jerks back and forth until I gas it and drive then goes away. No overheating issies. Any idea?
Really like your vids and recently subscribed. While replacing a turbo on a 2007 Audi A4 2.0t for a friend he mentioned a leak at the rear of engine so I looked for it and found what seems to be the temp sensor housing leaking. When I removed the sensor I found to my surprise that it was not in any coolant the sensor was just in like a little pocket and not submerged in the coolant itself is this normal for Audi?
My aydi check engine lighjt turned on after i put gas , does not over heat , drive bad , sound bad or nothing , i scanned it says it a coolant temp problem but just replad timining belt water pump valves tensior and mechanic said everything was good it always turns on after gas . Anyone know what to do ?
Mine doesnt have the connector while trying to change out the sensor. I had to watch ur vid again to see ur connctor clip cuz mine only has the butt part with only 2 prongs sticking out nd doesnt have the actual connector. Its been like this since i got the car. Nvr really been back there until now my fan turns on right after ignition. So what is wrong here ? Is it the sensor or the connector? Someone pls help.
Any of you get a parasitic drain from your fan? If I leave the battery plugged in the fans kick on after so long, only turn off when I either open the door or start that car.
2006 A4 b7 2.0t temp gauge goes past half way mark , cooling fans kick on high all the time , any idea if i need the thermostat or water pump replaced ? no leaks
Your coolant may be too low, sensor needs replacing, or thermostat is stuck. Make sure coolant level is between min and max, warm your car up, turn heater on high, squeeze the top main coolant hose really hard a few times (you may hear/see bubbles in the reservoir). Take your engine cover off, and you'll see a small screw ontop of the pipe that large coolant hose connects to. While the cars running, turn that screw left/open just enough so a tiny bit of fluid flows out. It will be bubbly/foamy at first, but when it's a steady, clear flow with no bubbles close it. This should take just a few seconds. This gets air out of the system which can cause issues like not having enough pressure to move the thermostat. Any time the coolant systems been opened beyond the reservoir lid this should be done once or twice after driving.
Where is it on a 2014 ? The EPC light is on and it’s sputtering at idle a little bit. I changed the water pump and ever since then the temperature gauge isn’t working. Where’s the sensor ? Thx
Hello, I have a 2010 A4 2.0T I've been trying to replace coolant temp sensor but have been unable to locate it. Searched everywhere and have zero luck! Any tips?
@@NaptownTuner thx, I’m getting an intermittent 2181 code. Temp, fan, coolant level all appear to be good. I’ll clear the code & it sometimes reappears after the car sits for several days. Temp gauge reads between 1/4 &1/2. Would changing the sensor possibly correct this issue? Car has 130,000 miles. Original water pump. Thx very much for your previous reply.
This car was one of the worst I've ever owned. Blown cam follower, blown everything eventually. Can you believe this was an award winning engine? The head developer received an award for that FSI motor.....
Idk man. Seen many of these 2.0t with 200k miles and still chugging. Friend of mine has one and it only has 2 codes. Purge valve and coolant sensor. Definitely fun to hear it run.
@jacksonmurphy3621 i saw a forum post where the charcoal canister can fail and clog the evap tubes. But for the sensor high voltage my guess is the sensor its self
