Bit awkward to connect up with the pieces at first I could have done with another pair of hands at times but now wired up and working the cooler works well the fan isn't silent but is quieter than the usual cooler that comes with the Ryzen CPU's, If you are on a budget keep to the Included Ryzen Cooler. This is part of a Retro gaming build I'm working on which will include the build, operating system install and all the emulators and posibly a front end to tie all the emulators together 👍

I've installed two of these Hyper 212 EVO coolers. You bypassed how the middle spring loaded pin is used and how to best align the very small pin with the hold-down when installing the cooler so that everyting is algned and flush with the top of the CPU. A picture of the correct allignment would be worth a lot.

I was able to get the hyper cooler off with this video. I’d also recommend to use a plastic tool that has a thin edge if to pry the edges off gently.

It seems not all Hyper 212 evo kits come with the black plastic attachments for the standoffs. Most of the guides I've looked at don't include them, but mine needed them for the screws to reach.

Calm Cal I got a new build last week, was having overheating issues with my 5600x, when trying to install the cpu cooler today, I was having issues with the brackets as you refer to them

hey mate do you know where i can get the backplate only ? I purchased an used heatsink, this particular one in the video, and it has only the intel backplate with it.

That's a big ass cooler m8! never seen one like that with full size fans. Did it not come pre-loaded with thermal paste? It's coming along nicely, great vid :)

Lol yep just about fit in the case, nope no pre applied thermal paste, tricky to install with this bracket set up, thanks again bud 👍

the back plate doesn't fit gigabyte motherboards I guess ? I got a B550 AC PRO and it just doesn't fit

I use PC part picker to check part compatibility/ issues, I haven't got this M/board so unsure what the fitment issue is. I suggest you speak to Cooler master directly regarding the compatibility issues you are having, if they are aware/if it has been resolved. I bought a radiator for one of my first builds when the Ryzen line/AM4 socket had just come out - it wasn't compatible. I spoke to the manufacturers who posted me out a new bracket that didn't exist when my radiator had been made but was now included with the new batch of radiators.

How old is your cooler? Despite it still being the "Hyper 212", there was a revision about a year or so after the AM4 chips first came out to add compatibility for them. If it's older than that then it won't have it and you'll need to buy a new backplate.

@@Slembi it's been like 6 years yeah, I needed a better cooler and I remembered how good this one was, and that it was installed on my old PC, so I took it from that one, but indeed, it doesn't fit, and don't know where to buy that since I'm not in the US
