Been watching your channel for a while, I admire the hard work you guys have done and how far y’all have come. Keep it going and happy Mando release day!!
I have returned from my 3 month slumber so I haven’t forgotten about you guys haha, congrats on 75K subscribers! and please review any saber-trio neopixle saber they are amazing!
Just found your channel today and I love it!!!! It’s so informative and quite frankly I just love lightsabers, lightsaber tech and lore so thank you very much for this channel.
I have wanted a starkiller lightsaber since 2008. I am finally getting into this community after wanting these kinds of lightsabers for 15 years. Im finally getting an imperial workshop vega. I dont plan on going crazy with a ton of them but i really want this one. Without the exposed crystal chamber if you can believe it. A darth malgus saber and a beater rgb. Not sure which one yet.
They need some sort of string with a light above it to make it look like a laser shooting into the emitter. I think that would add a lot more to the exposed crystal
I started with a LED in the hilt saber that had smooth swing and it was nice. but I always wanted a nice neopixel blade. so after much research I found a xenopixel core and blade for a decent price and upgraded my saber. I have always wondered how much better a proffie board was or what the difference was. but I will say I dont regret my purchase and love my saber. I will say that adding a font to the xenopixel is so easy. all you have to do is get the files that work for the xenopixel and load them in your SD card and thats it. when you cycle through your fonts the new one will be there and aside from manually changing the color and settings for the file it worked first time. I started many years ago with three sabers from force FX. I still have the originals I got back then but have added my upgraded xenopixel saber now and I love it. as a budget saber I would recommend a xenopixel to someone that wants to get a very nice looking and sounding saber. if you get a basic looking saber that is not a replica you can get them fairly inexpensive and from what I have seen many companies offer parts you can swap out and make the saber your own.
Hey Dustin, thank you so much for agreeing with me that adding a font to the Xenopixel sabers feels so rewarding when it only takes like five minutes. Thank you so much for watching and may the force be with you.
Amazing content! It’s always good to find someone who gives great review’s about Star Wars products in detail as well as knowledge on the the lore. Definitely want to get a lightsaber just have to save the money 😅 Anyway, much appreciation to your hard work!!
I started with Xenopixel, but after I learned how to use Arduino properly, I have become a big fan of Proffie. Nowadays, I buy Xenopixel for the character replica lightsabers since they are primarily for display, and Proffie for the dueling sabers that I actually play with. Yes, it is simpler to add fonts to a Xenopixel board (just copy/paste folders into the microSD card), but the effects on the Proffieboard are so much cooler. I also enjoy tweaking some of the effects, such as the preon for Rey's sound font. I also played around with the fire blade style code in Fett236's style library. However, one of the downsides of Proffie is that it can only store a limited amount of information - and the more elaborate blade styles take up a LOT of room (looking at you, Crispity!) I ended up deleting over half of the original blade styles and added 6 new fonts. My Proffie sabers only have 26 fonts, which suits me because I don't like having to cycle through several dozen fonts to get to the ones I like. In the end, it is a matter of personal preference.
Hey Philly! Thank you so much for the well thought out comment. You make a great point to have different sound boards for different occasions. I look forward to the day when I have more free time and I can really enjoy customizing the blade styles exactly the way I want on my Proffie sabers. 👍🏻
@@poppapa289 I wouldn't do any heavy dueling withe xenopixel or proffie. It's not an issue with the sound board; it's the neopixel blade. You run the risk of breaking LEDs in the neopixel blades with heavy dueling, and even one broken LED sticks out like a sore thumb. Neopixel blades are also MUCH more expensive to replace than hollow base lit blades. Light to moderate dueling should be okay. Base lit lightsabers are more suitable for heavy dueling. In fact, most (if not all) lightsaber dueling clubs use base lit. If you *really* want to do heavy dueling with neopixel lightsabers, then I recommend picking up a pair from Bendu Armory. Their blades have much thicker walls, but a huge downside is that they aren't as bright as the standard heavy neopixel blades.
What's up Bro? Thanks for another cool review. I've seen both the closed and open Crystal chamber on that saber. You know I prefer the Proffie equipped sabers for 1 reason alone. Proffie has that blade flicker that you don't get with Xenopixel. Xenopixel is definitely more user friendly. If it just had blade flicker, I would never need another Proffie saber again. Also, let me know what you think of GH3. I don't have any GH3 sabers but heard you say it was easier to manage. Thx Ryan, Peace out!
@Finding The Force I always appreciate you. I'll keep checking on that setup. I've got a test saber coming this week. It's got the new SN Pixel 4.0 that has Bluetooth on it. Its a TXQ core w/ 27 fonts, so I'll let you know how that works out. It will be my first Bluetooth saber, so we'll see.
Hi, do you take review requests? I’m stoked to see your Malgus review and made me wonder if you could review the Darth Nihilus Lightsaber Base Lit Duelling Lightsaber by Artsabers?
Hey ODK! You look like you can give me some advice on what lightsaber i should buy, when i go to DisneyWorld. I’m going to Florida, all the way from Norway, and i really want to buy a lightsaber from Galaxy’s Edge, but i’m not sure which one to buy! It stands to me beetween 4 of the sabers. Darth Tyranus, Ahsoka’s Clone Wars, Qui-Gon’s and Plo Koon’s. Which one do you think I should buy, and which one do you think is the best? Keep up the great content, by the way!
Hey Han! 👋🏻 Thank you so much for watching all the way from Norway, very lucky to have you as a subscriber. It really comes down to which one is your favorite!! But I think I can give you some info. I think the Qui-Gon is just too heavy although it has a rechargeable battery, I think that adds to the weight. I got for Palpatine or Ahsoka. 👍🏻 Ahsoka’s clone wars Sabers might be thicker than other companies, but they are lightweight and they changed to colors. Palpatine has the rechargeable battery, and a very unique and chrome design. Either way, do not leave the store without opening your crate and carefully inspecting it for any scratches and make sure you turn it on and clash it a few times to make sure it’s working properly. Let me know which one you pick in another comment. 😉👍🏻
I love this! This was my first video game I got on the wii ad a kid, star killer is my favorite of all time Edit: where did your friend get the dual sabers from?
That's seriously awesome I love the sound effects but why is sailor moon in a Star wars lightsaber that doesn't make any sense plus star wars is older than sailor moon weird right?
Lol it’s just for fun well, lots of font makers make different saber. Sounds that sound like all kinds of crazy things like dinosaurs or Marvel villains
A quick advise, if the saber isnt too chuncky, you can use them by grabbing the hilt from the top, its so much easier to hold and the weight is more balanced
Hey buddy, that's a great question! Do you know what dude, even if it had a belt clip wearing a saber and your belt really is no fun. I would recommend putting it in a bag or a backpack even if you were at a convention. Or you could look up on Etsy, search the words, saber, sling, pretty cool, light saber holster, just make sure that you put some rubber over the metal buttons.
Hey Gus, thanks a lot for asking about him. It was getting to be way too hard to film with our time together. He’s really busy with sports and martial arts. Thanks a lot for asking, I will tell him you said hi.
