"Crap graphics" is just for clean view so you can focus on your opponent and not on high resolution textures. Every graphic settings are tuned down just to minimize distraction during the game (low resolution textures, simple items, no weapon model). These are settings for professional gaming..

I used to write articles for SK gaming it was reallly insane to have rapha appear. American who wasn’t interested in fame as much as others and was very distinguishable in terms of his personality and his attitude towards how he approached gaming for a living. Rapha was and still is a true hero to me.
Cooller must be.. the only e-sport player on the male side that I actaully enjoy watching. Everything he says is like a funny moment and I can't get enough of him!
even though i play everyday, i still don't know how they play so calculated. i mean, they know how much damage they need to deal, they know the borderline of overcommiting and playing it safe. pretty much every moment of that match, you would see them make a wise judgment. i need to learn this so i can play smarter lol
What you see is the commentators view, they lower the graphics so they can stream it faster =] But a lot of pro players lower the graphics to make it more easily distinguishable between the environment and the enemy, don't want to be wasting time wondering if a wall is your opponent lol.
@TheSeventiethSeven What's surprising is a lot of people don't devote their lives to it. My first roommate in college was ranked very highly in Warcraft 3 and had mad thousands of dollars from it over the years. I didn't even know until after we graduated, my roommate had never told anyone because he was so embarrassed by talking about winning money from a game. It was sort of a shock I never noticed anytime where he sat in our dorm room practicing for hours or something.
@kalbaaro The "headset" are pure noise cancel, they are not allowed to hear the crowd and the commentators for obvious reasons, and it's what they need to focus
I think it probably has more to do with having clear streaming during the IEM, actually. Don't think anyone streams the QL tourneys on RU-vid, videos just get put up later
But from a spectator's position, why not at least put picmip up and have decent textures? Not bloom or anything silly, but damn, id did a great job polishing up the graphics. Wouldn't kill any of us to watch these games with decent graphics. Think this guy curtis makes a legitimate point.
Also he looks like Miles Crane, which is worth it's weight in gold. But in truth, if CZM had never stopped playing, he would be top still. The guy is a fucking genius.

This is what I am calling a real FPS game - I feel so fucking sorry for kids which play CoD game series (especially modern genres which SUCK totally, old school CoD1 and CoD2 were stunning!)
