That's pretty much all cops in big departments lol. I've had 2 close friends that are cops who would tell me all the dirty stuff that happens within the department. (San Francisco PD & Oakland PD)
investigate the chief , if he was authorized to follow those auditors. if yes, then so be it ::: if no, most definitely the court issue a restraining order against the chief

They should have started a DWI investigation. "Officer, how much have you had to drink?", "Is there a reason you can't keep control of your vehicle?", "Why are you shaking, and your eyes are bloodshot?".
Auditors are a menace to policing because you can't call the camera a liar. There are other matters more important than harassing first amendment protected rights.

If you are caught on video it's evidence but if a cop is caught on video it needs to be investigated. Abolish qualified immunity all the way up to the judge of needed

DANGEROUS DRIVING CHARGE......goodbye chief .........they are going to investigate YOU......NOW !!!. Anyone, ....who does this is in big trouble. Having a camera on a sidewalk is NOT .....a crime. The chief could have ran over a child, a family walking or killed kids in a car.
Good thing those civic minded law abiding citizens were close at hand to offer assistance to not only the poor citizen but to the negligent officer as well.

I can give the dude the benefit of the doubt because he was literally in a car accident a few seconds prior and all he sees through his perspective are two goofballs running up on him hooting and hollering. They couldn’t care less when it’s the public trying to take a second to figure out what’s going on, like when they pull you over for no obvious reason, or approach you while you’re minding your own business, etc… We’re expected to just immediately obey these tyrants.

ya know what's really sad - in most states when police hit your vehicle or blow up your home etc you never receive compensation for the damage or destruction

Naturally the Department will deny any responsibility by the Chief of Police, which will in fact affect the victims Insurance.......There will be no accountability for this due to Qualified Immunity......Didn`t you know, Cops do not have to show any intentions whatsoever, no signals, no obeyng the Law...in there eyes, they are invincible whereas the Public become liable for the most smallest of infractions. If you want to commit a crime, become a COP, more over, the Chief of Police.
If not for JDub as witness to this crash...the innocent guy would probably be cited. That may still happen. Strange but if I just got demolished while two bystanders were there, I would have said..."DID YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED"?

I'm trying to figure out why there are no cop cars on the scene already. Had he called in and said I have someone that won't identify himself, it would have been 100 police cars on the scene in ten seconds!
If you think cops are crooked, insurance companies are same level criminals. They look after their own. You’d get a no fault at best and still have to pay your deductible to get your car fixed. And then they’ll jack up your rates because you’re driving in an area with dangerous police.

In fairness, the driver of the vehicle which was hit was being calm, and it was the auditors who were making all the noise. The driver's admonition to the auditors to 'calm down' was justified, mainly because they were sounding like a couple of kids waking up on Christmas morning.
Wait till the victum finds out that the govenment has immunity and his own insurance has to pay for the damages and only if the city is generous will they pay his deductible.
