back in the 80s a criminals favorite place was a business without a CCTV once the business got one criminals generally would look for the camera and then leave. @wvrjl

@@WielkaStopa-qh1rr- It happens in the US all the time as well, which is why you need to record it yourself. I saw one case where the police actually told an ex-girlfriend of someone's that USED to live in his house, that she could kick down his door and go in and get her stuff that she left. She did just that, then the police FOLLOWED her INTO HIS HOUSE and then tased him when he got out of the shower and told them to get the hell out of his house. MAGICALLY, 3 out of 4 of the body cameras had a malfunction. Do you know how low the probability would be for that to happen?????? The fact that police even thought it was REMOTELY okay to do any of this is shocking.

This is why my kid didn’t become a cop. The teacher in one of her classes told her the blue line was real and thick. If she didn’t back up another cop, even if that cop was blatantly lying, that all of her colleagues would treat her like shit and the higher ups would bully her out. She finished school and got her B. A. in criminology but didn’t go on to the academy. At first I was disappointed and thought the only way to change a f@cked up system was from the inside but with time I’ve seen that she made the right decision. I think the current climate of recording all police interactions is going to make a bigger impact than a lone good cop here and there who doesn’t last long or could get hurt or killed trying to change the system.

Walking the line of calling out bad behavior by other officers and not alienating oneself and getting yourself blackballed for not being “part of the team” is a fine line. He handled about as well as you could’ve handled it. Easy to say that he should’ve done this or that… but we aren’t talking about a guy getting choked out or a knee being pressed down on someone’s chest. Fully agree. Additionally, I wouldn't grant the citizen a grade of A. From a legal stand point he didn't do anything wrong, but he depicted a rather hostile attitude from the beginning of the stop. I doubt it would've helped with this cop, but would certainly lead to a better encounter in other traffic stops.

Unfortunately I think that is where I disagree with the conclusion on this video. While I do no agree with the behavior, because he made the statement “I’m your worst nightmare.” without being explicit that he was referring to a legal and civil lawsuit response, a court would likely rule that gave officer DeBoard the suspicion needed to for the frisk. And that is probably why the cop said he took it as a threat. They’ve been trained to say everything is a threat, that way they have legal cover if things out of hand. Again, I don’t agree with them doing it. Just saying that is how I see it playing out in court. Same with the reason for the stop. Even if his dashcam proves he didn’t cross the lines, it doesn’t prove whether the cop thought it looked like he did and will probably be ruled a valid stop in court. It’s all shady as hell, but just enough fuzzy gray area that you know the courts will side with the cop.

My brother has a dash camera which showes his speed. A cop pulled him over for speeding on I-95 in Florida, and wrote him a ticket. My brother's case was at 1:00 pm, he arrived when the courtroom was opened at 9:00, per the instructions on his ticket. The vast majority of traffic cases that day (around 90%) were from this one officer. When my brother's case came up, the officer went first, noting, as with all of the other cases, his certificate of training, and the calibration documents for his radar. When my brother "took the stand" he offered the judge the dash camera footage, showing his speed at the area in question was 1 - 2 MPH below the posted limit. Upon hearing the offer of conflicting evidence, the judge says "Case dismissed." Perplexed, my brother asked the judge "Don't you want to see the video?" The judge shouted "I SAID CASE DISMISSED! Officially for “coming in hot” but again, he was responding to a lie. He thought there was an armed guy running around threatening cops. Any time a cop tells someone to shut up or shut their mouth or any variation of that they should be arrested and charged with abuse of authority and violation of their 1st amendment.

Grade F for Officer Sanjay. Was he standing up for justice or just trying to cover his/his partner's butt for the little he helped? He is paid to be courageous and he seemed to have knowingly stayed silent. An enabler.

There is something very suspicious about an officer that regards a camera as a threat to officer safety. You would have thought someone acting in good faith would have nothing to be concerned about. I wonder how he behaves when there are no cameras.

We have to get rid of this officer safety claim - until there are no bad acting police there needs to be no protection as it ends up getting citizens hurt.

The more you taint/bruise or even challenge a cop’s ego … the more he/she will likely retaliate and go out of his/her way to violate your rights. That can often lead to lawsuits for which unfortunately, are paid out by taxpayers.

I know it’s a cliche to say it at this point but it really is a shame everything people had to deal with before body cam or cell phone cams and all the innocent people who got in trouble or rights violated. Like that one cop who was planting drugs on people and finally got caught by his body cam. Without that who knows if he’d ever be caught. Even now they still act like this while being filmed. It really is crazy
