WHAT NOBODY HAS SPOKE ABOUT OR FIGURED OUT IS ANY OF THESE COPART's OR IAA's are that they need you more than you need them, they just do not let you know it, STAND YOUR GROUND & GET WHAT YOU ARE WORTH!

That's what I'm saying.... idk about anywhere else but we flat out stopped hauling for IAA after me being there for 8 years and the company hauling for em for 16 years..... the reason? They started demanding more, told me personally "This isn't a 9 to 5 job" and wanted to assign cars 2+ hours away at 3:30 after working us from 6am and expected those cars to be brought in that day... which would be way in violation of state and federal transportation laws.... on top of that they took dispatching away from the local office and gave it to Atlanta and took the vetting part away from dispatch and gave it to a call center that doesn't appear to actually speak english... as per almost everyone ai picked up from.... and because of that had started sending us after cars that sometimes WERENT EVEN AT the shop they said it was at or even bother to get charges for those vehicles.... it's turned into a fish show and after more than a decade we quit.

Another very informative video love it, I haul for copart you definitely right you have to find what works for you I'm more focused on the transportation side. You think you can do a video on your experience with different beds and which ones you think is better and the ones to stay away from. Thanks

I could tell tales about IAA and the unbelievqble amount of non sense and disrespect weve gotten from them since they got bought out a few years back to include dispatching cars they never vetting or called on themselves, demanding us to be on the road more than the law allows, started dispatching cars to us premarked as late, waiting till 3pm or later to dispatch cars and demanding them brought in that day, stopped dispatching work for the next day and started making us wait till 9am or later for our first run, brought in a cat team they were paying 2 grand a day and giving them work before us claiming the cat team was there because we couldnt keep up but we couldnt "keep up" because NO ONE was dispatching but the branch manager and she was waiting so late in the day to even give us work and when we got back with that we would sit around an empty office for an hour or more before she stopped playing on her phone long enough to give us another run. IAA wasnt too bad before... especially if you owned the truck and drove it but now.... I flat out told my boss im done with em dont send me back there and since that convo hes agreed because they started doing it to him as well directly. Anyone thinking of working for this company.... go outside, pull the hood back on your truck, take out the engine and replacebit withbone that doesnt run..... because in a few years when you put 500,000 miles on it thats how its gonna be .... and stay cause they dont pay enough to replace it. If you plan on paying someone to drive your truck .... youll do better selling everything and stocking shelves at walmart unless you plan on never changing the oil or repairing anything that wears out.... and it will... quickly.

Good tip on how to set your height on your wheel lift! Another tip for how far to extend your wheel lift is to measure from the outside of the wheel grid when it’s extended on the crossbar to the pivot pin on the crossbar and then run your wheel lift out that far from the back of the bed. The farther you extend your wheel grid on the crossbar, the farther you have to extend the wheel lift out for turning clearance. That way you’re also keeping as much weight on your front axle and on the steer tires as possible.

Thanks for the knowledge, I currently run a dually and a trailer for a local car recycler pulling 1-2 cars daily from coparts and IAA, I just bought a rollback and with wheel lift and was wondering if working out of their yards would be worth it or just trying to blend in some other smaller customers with my existing.

I personally like the option to blend in some smaller customers so you are diversified a little. But, you know your busy better than i do.

i contacted co-part, i got rejected, but based on all i have read and seen since, im glad! i think it was due to lack of recent experience? i drove 1988-1995, rollbacks and wreckers, but none since, im browsing for a rollback with a lift too. plan to carry dollies as well. I got to sell a few items to be able to afford a rollback. I honestly prefer a wrecker, but at first i plan to get rollback, as where my fiance lives, 100 miles away, there are quite a few interstates, its rare for me to not see a car or 5 broke down on the 20 miles I drive to get to her house, where i live, just rural mountains, a wrecker would make more sense, but I believe near major interstates, all the wrecks, I would be better in a rollback there? as to comment on clean cut, I have never been, nor will I ever be, i keep a beard usually 1 foot long, plus hair 1/2 down my back, already had people refuse to hire me, because I wont conform, there is no reason to start now!

Hey question, I have a ram 3500 and plan to get a small wheel lift installed to start out towing is it a good investment? It just a quick way for me to get started and plan to grow. I also plan to trade my 40ft flatbed trailer to a car hauler.

The best way to work for copart is to pick up something and , then fucking leave and be glad you dont have to put in 8 hours onsite as their employee , its a caste system with dungeon work conditions , worst lastv5 months of my life , cant wait to get hired somewhere...

Can you do this with a two car gooseneck trailer and a good winch?
@Guardianautoservices
@Guardianautoservices Год назад
It would be very tough! But you can make money with a 2 car. Copart or IAA isn't who to work for but hauling inop does pay better.I have one and have run one in the past. Everything has its pros and cons.

I.have a important question if you mind. Do you at anytime use central dispatch. If so is it profitable with a rollback or wheel lift tow truck
@Guardianautoservices
@Guardianautoservices Год назад
Yes, i have used load boards several different times to haul vehicles in the past. I always looked for the higher paying INOP vehicles. You can also do regular local transport as well but the INOP is better for a tow truck and higher paying.

You'd be way out of your league, To do it properly the insurance would eat you alive for what you'd be making with that setup, Not to mention it's not at all practical.

@teamwork84 all about profits. Break it down whatever the best for you to know what your cost are. Some do daily, hourly, etc. Then make sure your pulling in more money than your bills. ( gross income) vs expense. What is left is your net profit

Unfortunately that is very hard. The only way to make that work is doing scrap cars honestly. Regular towing would be almost impossible since most people dont plan their break downs.
