Great topic and video... really digging that PA countryside from 400 feet also! I couldn't agree more with your "check boxes" prior to booking these types of loads - I do the very same thing. So important to verify these items before booking, because a damaged trailer (truck bed in my case) - isn't worth the rate per mile they are paying in all cases. Some other things to consider and add to your information: When selecting a spot on the trailer (multi-car), keep in mind that you don't want to place a badly damaged vehicle with broken glass and small parts which will fly at highway speeds, in front of a new higher-dollar vehicle on the trailer! All is takes is a few pieces of glass shards to scratch paint on the vehicle sitting behind it. Additionally - NEVER trust the sticky plastic tape the auctions use for the entire duration of the transport. Read this again and put it in your back pocket. This material is only designed for local auction lot movement and/or securement, NOT multi-state transport. You would be surprised how many guys I see going down the road with a front-impact vehicle with the hood smacked against the windshield - clueless that they have just probably cost themselves thousands of dollars in damage claims..... why? Because they TRUSTED this sticky plastic, assuming it was there to secure the hood for transport. Now, will it sometimes hold for the duration of the load..... sure, but NEVER trust that it will..... always place a strap or series of bungees to secure. To conclude - I LOVE hauling out of the salvage auctions. Why? They nearly always pay more. The customer knows already what the vehicle's condition is, and isn't going to nitpick a scratch or ding that may have been missed at pickup. And, they load and unload them for you. Sure, there are a few things to button up and strap down here or there... but all in all, I'll take a totaled 2000 Honda Accord all day long for $1 per mile over a new 2020 Range Rover dealer transfer ..... ALL day long. Good stuff, Jason.... keep the grind brother.

Good information. You’re absolutely right about placing the vehicle in the right position when considering the drop off location. I have a winch and 3 car wedge so I have had to use gravity to unload and winch to re load. You always need to carry an air compressor, good jump box, straps, tape, and boards to help drag. One piece of advice I have for copart is that you keep the text so you can check in to the location about 10-20 minutes away so you don’t have to wait in the yard so long and burn your clock....finally Carmax runs suck. They burn your clock and take forever,once you pick and drop it will cost you 1 hour on each side, but they are easy to get in and out of lol

I go to the customer place and if they say they have a forklift but when i get there they don’t have the forklift I’ll throw it to the side. It’s already damaged. Just kidding

14 years rollback hauling salvage cars. I've had all kinds of 💩 happen to me!😆 Bungy straps, zip ties, small rachet straps, tape, box cutters are your friends when it comes to junk cars. Copart has become really efficient at getting cars to transporters. IAA, not so much, as a matter of fact some branches can be a NIGHTMARE! IAA North Hollywood Ca, IAA Riverside, IAA Gardena, IAA San Bernardino. I listed them in order from absolute worse. IAA North Hollywood can take as much as 6 to 8 hours to give you 1 car!😳 I know haulers who arrive at 10pm the night before to be 1st in line and yet they still don't get their load till 3 to 4 hours after IAA No Ho opens!🤦‍♂️
