I had Ford E350 Van with the V 10. It was a strong running motor. I went on a trip to the north Ga. Moutains and the V10 did not use any more gas than the other V8 Vans on the trip. The Van was a good one until it was totaled.
@kevinkeeney6693
@kevinkeeney6693 5 лет назад
I used to be on a van pool and a few of the vans had the V10. Those were the favorite ones. They got less than 1 mpg less than the V8, but were far more powerful. When I left the van pool, the V10 that I drove had a 180K, but was running like new. Only problem that we had were coil packs. Definitely recommend to replace them all at once, otherwise as we found out, you'll replace all 10 in about 10 weeks. ☺

I had a great experience with copart. Went out two or three times a week for two months bidding on cars hoping for a deal. . . Then scored! Drove it off the lot. . . Have driven it 1500 miles now. Everything works and love it. . . Plus got it for just over $1000 out the door. . . My friends are jealous. . Lol. . Now I am looking for another great find

Xterra's are really good truck based SUV's. The one in the video is a 2002-2004, what we in the Xterra community call a generation 1.5 model. Yes, it has the 3.3L VG33E engine which does have a timing belt. at 180k miles that would be one of the first things I would do if I bought it. The VG is an interference engine, so if the t-belt breaks you have a high risk of catastrophic engine damage happening. I had a 2001 and drive it for 8 years and over 100k miles. It was a beast of a truck. bad gas mileage, but it never left me stranded. It was one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned. I would still have it if it wasn't totaled by a stop sign runner, sad as it was, it's all good.... That accident turned my 2001 Xterra XE 2wd into a 2010 Xterra Off-Road 4x4 that I am still driving today with 145k miles on it. It has also proven to be very reliable.
@Overseascontractoracademy
@Overseascontractoracademy 5 лет назад
I much prefer the shorter format as I actually have time for them... longer ones I start, but inevitably get pulled away. One suggestion that a lot of viewers might want to see... follow up with the vehicles you highlight and show them actually being sold on the website... that way it's kind of a full circle deal. Ya show them in the yard, you poke around them and look for damage/flaws, give your thoughts, then show what the vehicles actually sell for when they leave the yard.

heh I used to have a 2000 5speed manual 4x4 xterra. That was before they offered the VQ motor and the engine was a dog, even the old v6. They even sold these in a 4cyl initially, which baffled me. Has the aerodynamics of a brick wall but a great active vehicle. Simple to work on, bumpers lights etc are all non painted to cheap and easy to replace. Everything is bare bones and simple making parts cheap and easy to work on. 4x4 low was fun on sand too.

that gen Tundra you were looking at would be a 4.7L 2UZ V8. they're well known for being very reliable, with a few having hit 1,000,000 miles and still going. yes, the UZ series V8 is also the one in Matt Farah's million Mile lexus EDIT: and the generation after that toyota was 5.7L, so you weren't entirely wrong EDIT 2: for that last excursion, the V10's more or less just have the same common issues as everything else in the Triton series from what I know
@minecraft_bat4069
@minecraft_bat4069 5 лет назад
There are 2 tundras with the 2UZ-FE that have hit 1,000,000 miles on it, they also use those in Land Cruisers. That might just be one reason why, they use the new 5.7 in the Land Cruiser too, those seem to be quite reliable as well.

On the white Super Duty, isn’t that burnt spot just a bracket where something was mounted to the front of the frame? Like a plow or utility bumper or something, and they just torched it off to reuse it on a new truck. I bet the rear bumper was unbolted and reused as well.

I know that they have the SR package now on the Tacoma and Tundra base, they had a model under the SR5 in 2006, came with the V6. 4Runner and Sequoia are SR5 base, Toyota should just unify their trim scales, as they have done recently with the Prius. SR5 is basically the LE
@hippiebits2071
@hippiebits2071 5 лет назад
minecraft_bat Yep, you are correct. I didn't even know the Tundra had an SR model. I knew the Taco was the 4 cyl. Rare to see a base Tacoma on the lots where I live, assume it's probably the same deal with the Tundra.
@minecraft_bat4069
@minecraft_bat4069 5 лет назад
My family used to have a 98 Tacoma 4cyl, it was very reliable, and it was used to haul way over what it should have. One of my family members got a new Toyota Sienna, we replaced the Tacoma with the older Toyota Sienna we have, which is a tank. It’s abused quite a bit, and is not cared for, yet nothing ever goes wrong with it. A/C is super cold, engine runs quiet, never complains. The oil is only changed sometimes, quality is amazing, the Tacoma was not a good car for a family though. The back seats were horrible, a Tundra is much more comfortable. And our old Sienna is the one people say has oil problems, but it’s the refreshed model, idk if that was resolved by then.

That Xterra has potential. Historically, those are prone to rust where the rear window meets the rear gate. I believe those Nissan SUV’s had a timing chain instead of a belt. I’m no mechanic. I could be wrong. I think this could clean up really well and sell for weekend off roaders.
@Mike.D.843

On the Xterra the 2000-2004's have the VG series engine, VG33E to be exact, that engine has a timing belt. (I had a 2001, and now have a 2010. Learned a lot about them working on both.) The 2005-2015's have the VQ40DE engine which uses a timing chain. The one in the video is a 2002-2004 model.
