I just purchased a 1964 Corvette project car! I bought it from the original owner and had him tell me all his stories about driving it when he was in High School

I definitely need to start walking. My girlfriend and I did 7 miles at 9000ft in elevation (which is equivalent to probably 12 miles at sea level) the other day and it felt amazing.

11:29 "How about you guys, you ever had a Plymouth Acclaim?" As a matter of fact my dad has, and still is using one. It's a really dark green, almost looks dark blue. Still runs and is in pretty good shape, thought it has quite a few miles on it. We also got a blue Dodge Dynasty my grandma used to drive, then she gave it to my mother. Both cars are in decent shape and are garage kept. I really like those oldies.

I always liked the Spirit/Acclaims. BTW, the twin to the Shadow was the Sundance. I worked in car rental right out of high school. The outfit I worked for had mostly Chrysler products. Those Acclaims were cheap, roomy, and did quite well on the interstate, even w/ the 4 cyl., which all our rental Spirit/Acclaims had. It basically replaced the old K cars. Then, I worked at a Dodge dealer from '91 thru '04. Spirits (Dodge's version of the Plymouth Acclaim) were made from '89 thru '95, being replaced by the Stratus.

Saw a similar story about a Gold 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT that came through Copart several years ago. But I saw the Copart listing after reading the news report. I don't remember where it was out of, but there was an older gentleman who had been out drinking and was on his way home. He hit a semi truck after drifting into the oncoming lane. He was ejected from the vehicle having not been wearing his seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The car was unrecognizable from the front, even to a Fiero fanatic, the damage was so bad that one of the rear tail lights came out, in a front end impact. So many lessons to be learned from that.

If my memory serves me right the windscreen surround on that '65 'Vette Stingray is part of the metal structure of the car, so that kind of damage there (which looks to have been caused by going under a semi trailer) may well have traveled down into the bulkhead/fire wall and maybe even into the chassis/frame of the car. So, what looks like it should be an easy fix, though the parts probably won't be cheap with it being a classic 'Vette with a high value, may well end up requiring the vehicle being completely stripped down to the frame and being completely rebuilt from there, which may well be why it has been written off. It's certainly doable, and it may well be the cheapest was into a C2 'Vette now, but it's going to be a lot of work...

You should get the 2017 GMC Sierra at 27:20, it would be a great tow truck for future cars.

That black Toyota Camry is as good a testament to the development work regarding crash safety as you'll see. Although that took a very heavy hit (probably into some street furniture on a highway at high speed judging by the lack of overlap) and the right front corner and A-pillar are gone, the driver and front passenger survival space has barely been compromised at all. Had they been wearing their seat belts then the driver and front seat passenger (if their was one) could have walked away from that one. Needless to say, that car can't be rebuilt properly without a donor shell, but it's a good parts car, or, if you're nefariously-inclined, it could provide a load of spare parts to sell on and ID to ring a stolen vehicle, if you know where all the ID marks are...

I love the Plymouth Acclaim and Dodge Spirit I owned 17+ of these. I had a Black Cherry 1990 Plymouth Acclaim 1989 Plymouth Acclaim Silver 1990 Plymouth Acclaim Ice Blue 1991 Dodge Spirit ES Turbo Red 1990 Dodge Spirit ES Black 1889 Dodge Spirit LE White just to name a few of colors.

I still own a 1988 Dodge Aries Runs and drives great only 61k on it! Love this car. FYI it looks new to. Only paid 400 for it.

That GMC Sierra is what we in the UK would call a constructive write-off in that the cost of repairing the vehicle, plus the financial loss from the vehicle having a repaired title has amounted to more then 50% of the replacement cost of the vehicle, therefore it gets written off. The chances are that the damage from the body hitting the cab has just been caused by the body mounts flexing in the impact so with the body repaired or the body replaced and the panel damage to the cab repaired, plus any repairs that may be needed to the rear of the frame and you'll have an effectively brand new truck, albeit one with a salvage title, for cents on the dollar. Equally, it could supply a trucks worth of effectively brand new parts for a lot less then cents on the dollar, which is probably where its greatest value lays, sadly...

The Nissan versa paint damage is due to brake fluid not lacquer thinner that would only soften the paint and paint stripper would eat the paint and primer brake fluid eats the paint and then slowly softens the primer then leaves a film on the metal surface that has to be sanded cleaned and prepped properly if not any primer and paint put on it will wrinkle up and not bond to any of the surfaces if you ever see same damage on fiberglass think it through before buying it's a costly nightmare get brake fluid out of fiberglass being it's so pores material

That 65 corvette would be great restored

My mom's first car was a 1992 Dodge Shadow. It was a great little car until it started overheating and the head gasket blew.

A lot of the oddness you see in the camera is down to the pile in that alcantara-type fabric. After it's been deep-cleaned all the pile stands up again after being flattened for ages but it doesn't necessarily stand up in the direction it would have when it was brand new. As you said, it looks great to the naked eye and the detailers clearly did a wonderful job on it so I'll bet it looks (and smells) a whole lot better. Alcantara-type fabrics can be a nightmare to clean and aren't something for the inexperienced to attempt to clean as it can be utterly ruined by heavy-handed cleaning using the wrong types of cleaning materials...

Missing air vents in those Nissan quests are so common. When I had one they all fell out because they weren’t even properly glued in

Be weary about those Infinitis. I had a 2004 q45, and those headlight assemblies are insanely overpriced. the M35 is a little more common, but just be cautious for sure

correction, cutting the muffler off of a hondas gives it 35 horsepower on the vtec side

2001 I had a 1994(?) Dodge Shadow Motor mounts were shot.. engine would throw the A/C belt once a week.. left it in AZ when I went back to Louisiana

That Dodge Charger probably hit a curb pretty well and caused it to bend the unibody and that's why there are wrinkles in the body.

It's the Dodge Spirit and the Plymouth Acclaim that are same. The Dodge Shadow and the Plymouth Sundance that are the same.

That paint damage on the Quest looks alot like someone had fun with brake juice

You should look into getting more Honda’s for quick flips you probably could sell them reasonably priced they hold their value

If interested in the Nissan Quest you have to hear the engine. They are notorious for the timing chain guides to wear out and on that model it's a costly repair. (my daughter had one)

The acclaim!!!! I had a red 94 one with a red interior (first car) i rear ended someone on the way home from college one night and being just one member of a huge car family we went right to a junkyard and replaced the whole front end with a dodge spirit! It became the dodge Plymouth acclaim spirit! God i missed that car

I kinda agree on what you said about everyone has their time to go, when your number's up you ain't outrunning it & all that BUT I also believe that one can bring that number up a whole lot quicker if they go round jumping red lights/running stop signs and all. If you make it past 30 I don't think there's much excuse for not knowing better. Don't get me wrong we all do stupid shit from time to time and make a mistake, but if I was that guy (God rest his soul) I'd not have any anger towards anyone else and I'd know it was me who stopped the clock mistake or otherwise.

I own and drive a Plymouth Sundance which is the same vehicle as the dodge shadow so I'm well aware of those acclaims get parts of of them all the time

I walk 3 or 4 miles every morning, if I can, also. Although, I've been biking a little more lately. Walking clears my head. Also a good time for phone calls if business needs to get underway. BTW, try ii in short pants next time. Much cooler. Those legs will tan up over time. LOL

Copart reserve space at some of their Lots for certain insurance companies. Copart will store the car there for a while until they decide what they're going to do with it free of charge it's cheaper for the insurance company to do it that way then to have it sit at a tow yard at 30 or $40 per day storage until they have someone appraise the car. Also maybe get you a small lithium ion jump pack they're small enough to fit in your pocket then you wouldn't have to wait on Copart to come out it might be easier that way.

*Your Mazda won't show the dirt on camera that you can't see in person if you steam clean it or at the very least hit it with some simple green. My neighbor gave me a trick to try on this nasty escalade. he said try tide liquid and dawn dish washing liquid mixed together. I'll let you know how it turns out. if you're looking for a "quick flip" you're looking at all the wrong cars man, that infinity might be a good one money wise to invest in but that charger the whole body is tweaked which is why the roof has those creases in it that was a massively hard hit that thing took and then the flooding on top of it all, that's a parts car for something else it's not really good for much of anything else to anyone after going through all of that. The Corvette is a 65 and there is little to no information other than that the top has been damaged. You could straighten that windshield frame but unless you get it perfect you would never get a windshield to fit back in that car. everything but the window frame says all original show car. but if you look close that thing has also been in a flood which is why all the dirt on the seat and you can even see where the water dried up at the bottom of the odometer and tack too. BTW that car is a 65 the hood release is on the outside front of the car usually in the grille or just below it. Honda isn't bad but it looks to need a lot of little stuff that might add up quick including that power steering pump replaced as well as the muffler, bumper, fender and headlight. could get most of it pretty cheap and have plenty of them at your local you pull it lot. Checked out the merch shop and bought something. wearing it now in fact just got it out of the dryer fits nicely even after washing*

Oh and my sticker came in the mail. Really wish it didn't say "on RU-vid" at the bottom, but whatever. I see it as a piece of history lol

My wife has an 2002 Quest and the brake proportioning valve went bad. Nissan no longer carries the part and I found 1 used part on Hollander. Just a warning.

The bumper is easy fix you can buy an inexpensive a.b.s plastic welder kit comes with numbered plastic rods match number on inside of bumper cover to number on plastic rods it saves u hundreds over time thousands being u buy and sell

friendly advice: don't rev the rx8 over the 9k rpm limit... it will break the apex seals on the rotors and it will need an engine rebuild soo... take care of her ;3 i really want one just like yours but on red or at least a mk1 mx5 miata(try finding one it might be fun wink wink ;) ) ....who knows if you keep the rx8 for like 3 years i might wanna try buying it :D have fun

I know the vid is old now but that Charger was a 100% parts only car, those kinks in the roof mean the whole body is bent, very definitely one to stay away from.
