My husband is a Floridian w lots of deep lines from many days out in the sun. He started using this about six weeks ago. It took about this much time for me to begin to see a difference. His lines were sooo deep. And now I’m beginning to see his lines soften and face brighten. It’s definitely working for him!!!
I just purchase 2 P&L serums at 21 days of Beauty for my husband LOL -- he has lines in forehead from sun too (as well as "deep thinking" lol) -- I'm using him as my guinea 😂😂😂❤
i've worked extensively in microbiology and biotechnology labs as a masters student back in the day ,and we used get a lot of peptides, enzymes, and other bioactive things like cell lines, viruses, etc, in labs to practice on. Problem with peptides is they're not stable and generally degrades within hours at room temperature. They could be kept stable in normal fridge for few days to weeks. For long storage these things are stored at -20 C in special freezers and some even at -80 C, and these equipments are super expensive, if there was really a way of keeping these things nice and fresh at room temperature or even in normal fridges, we would definitely be taught that, I'm not a cosmetic chemist but I don't think these peptides are doing anything in skincare, they're probably mostly denatured at this point sitting on shelves for days, whatever is left of em is providing hydrating.
Interesting, thank you for sharing! Yeah, I commented this elsewhere but with peptides, I figure it’s best practice to assume they act as humectants. There MAY be extra benefits, but until we have conclusive evidence, I wouldn’t drop tons of cash on them for those benefits (for example, the “Botox in a bottle” claims - interesting theory, quite iffy in practice!)
@AliceintheRabbitHole maybe some peptides don't denature or chemists have tricks. Science is so vast that everybody in the field doesn't know everything. There are hundreds of streams. Botox peptides seem like total bs, Botox address muscle component of aging which is totally different from skin component of aging, how is anything going through the skin and into the muscle at precise points to make an effect. Botox is injected at extremely precise points on muscles to achieve a lifted look, doing if in inncorect place can have bad results like swallowing issues and druppy eyes etc
I always appreciate your perspective of the science, because it's so easy to get influenced by marketing and premature claims. I used an entire bottle of The Ordinary Buffet with copper peptides and while maybe my skin wasn't "ugly" it definitely wasn't better in any way! So now I'm very reluctant to try any copper peptides again, and will maybe wait until more is known. Thank you for taking on the topic!
I’ve been using the peach and Lily for a little over a month now and I am a little over halfway through the bottle. I thought it was just in my head in the first week or two but now that it’s been a little over a month of consistent use, I can definitely see a difference. My skin looks brighter, bouncer, more plump. I’m shocked at the difference it has made and I decided to order the ordinaries version because it was on sale today for their November sale. I figured $23 is a good price to see how it compares to the peach and Lily. I like peptides, copper in particular, because it seems to be that you can get a lot of the benefits of a lot of skin care ingredients, but with minimal irritation.
Yep, I think they have a great product there! Albeit my theory is that it’s the full formula vs merely the copper peptide. It has SO much going on lol!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I totally agree. All those different extracts were pretty impressive. The mushroom and watermelon and all that jazz. I might go back to it if I feel like the ordinary one isn’t quite the same. But I couldn’t turned down trying it for $23. Although I did just hit platinum with Ulta so I’ll definitely be looking for those extra deals. I know this is a random question, but do you have any suggestions for make up brands that would be good for sensitive skin? I’m newly getting into dabbling with make up and I’ve always had very sensitive skin and eyes. Colorpop seems to be OK, but I’m wondering if there’s a specific brand that might be Formulated better for sensitive people. Thanks for all your hard work, lots of us really appreciate your informative and entertaining content.
Oh that’s a great question! Do you have a preference in what you’re looking for? Because my brain immediately went to bareminerals (that’s been their “thing” for a long time) - but their makeup is a lot more subdued than Colourpop. A few more options that come to mind: Haus Labs (check for allergens as she uses extracts, but my skin actually loves her products). Joah (a “K-Beauty inspired” drugstore brand - bizarrely underrated actually). That covers a few price points/styles, but let me know if you’re thinking of something else!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I’ve actually been really interested in Haus labs! I’ll have to give them a try when I can catch a good sale. And I’ll definitely check out the K beauty brand you mentioned. That’ll give me a good excuse to place a YesStyle order soon. I mostly wear eyeshadows and highlighter at the moment. Haven’t delved into foundation or concealer for fear of buying the wrong shades and you know how us Americans are with returning things 😅😂 but those Haus labs ones do look fantastic. And I have a Sephora very close so it should be easy to try to find my shades. Thanks for the suggestions!
This was very helpful thank you Alice! Ahhh, to have Peach & Lily in Canada (shipping+conversion gets expensive). Would you consider doing an updated video like this one on retinoids? I think most of us know about the different types of retinoids and, in general, how they work in the skin, but I think a more niche or specific video would be cool - like, addressing claims it thins the skin over time, fat loss claims in a minority of people, collagen vs elastin, these kinds of things :)
Thank you for finally clearing up the Vitamin C issue! I've been so confused over whether it's just ascorbic acid that's bad to use it with or all the Vitamin C derivatives, as well. Now I know! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is such good timing! The Deciem sale just started and Niod’s copper peptides is 50% off but it’s still expensive so I need the help and clarity rn! 😅 💙
Omg!! Is it 50% off!!?? I thought it was like 25... I might have to try it for that much off. What a great deal! Their are few Niod products in tempted to try out during their sale. Ty for the heads up🥰
@@Kendralovesskincare it is for the month of November! It’s Only the copper peptide products, everything else is 23% off but I noticed this a few hours ago and it definitely got my attention!
This morning I was trying to decide whether to try The Ordinary’s or NIOD’s copper peptide serums, because of the Slow November sale. I was looking at Peach and Lily’s copper peptide serum. I have mature, dry skin and rosacea. I have a couple of areas where lines and wrinkles are concerning me a little. On the other hand I don’t want to omit all of my skincare to use a copper peptide serum because I have had good results with what I am using. Thank you for an enlightening discussion. I am disappointed that there are not good double blind studies with a significant number of humans using different concentrations of copper peptides and different formulations of other peptides of note. I still haven’t decided whether to try the NIOD version. PS: Kelley Driscoll recently reviewed the Peach and Lily Copper Peptide serum and discussed what each one of the additional peptides do. It was very interesting to me.
It was so strange to discover that given how much we hear about copper peptides! And yeah, it does contribute to a tough call. Wish I could help more, but that’s where we are!
Like others said, "Knights who say Niod" made my day. I bought the Niod serum because I felt that 50% off for a product that so many raved about was something I couldn't pass up. Then I saw this video pretty much right after I bought it, and I got concerned that I'd made a mistake by purchasing it (I'm worried about "the uglies" lol). It's especially frustrating because I'd been seriously considering the Peach and Lily one, but chose the Niod instead because so many said it was the best. Oh well, at least when I use it I can say I'm a Knight who says Niod lol!
Here's my experience... Throughout the last year or two, I've been using Tretinoin, Copper Peptides, Vit C and Niacinamide (plus moisturizers and spf). Since most of the information I found said it's ok to use them all, even on the same day, I've been mixing them. Most of the time I'd let products sink in for 10-15min before applying the next layer. So I'd do Tretinoin, then Vit C, then moisturizer. Or Tretinoin, then Copper peptides, then Niacinamide, then moisturizer... In the first 6 months or so, my skin kept looking better and better! And I was getting compliments constantly. And then it felt like it just had enough and started always being red, irritated and looking worse. Now I separate my products by day. Day 1 - Tretinoin + Barier Support Serum + Azelaic acid in silicone + spf Day 2 - Copper Peptides + Niacinamide + simple moisturizer/spf Day 3 - Tretinoin + Barier Support Serum + Azelaic acid in silicone + spf Day 4 - Vit C in Vit E + Vit C heavy night cream + Vit C spf Day 5 - Tretinoin + Barier Support Serum + Azelaic acid in silicone + spf etc... This works perfectly for me! My skin has time to breathe and I feel like I'm getting all the benefits of actives.
“Skin cycling” as they call it (🤣 nevermind the fact that skincare enthusiasts have been doing this for years before TikTok named it lol!) Thanks so much for sharing. I do something very similar myself!
Oh Alice… there r so many reasons why i love you and think you r fabulous… wearing blue on ur body, face and hair for a video on copper is yet one more reason to add to the very long list, you rule girl!
I use The Ordinary products almost exclusively these days aside from 1 product that I use for the bags on my eyes by Celyn. I have pretty regular skin. I had acne in my 20's, but I took accutane and 8mo later, no more acne and haven't had any since, aside from the occasional pimple here and there. Fast forward, I'm 46 now, when I tell people my age, they end up telling me they wouldn't have placed me over 35. With that said, up until about early 40's I just used dove soap and occasionally put on moisturizer. Fast forward to the last few years, I started buying products here and there. I'm fine with my skin overall, and utterly loathe my bags, but at this point, I think the only thing that will actually rid them is actual blepharoplasty surgery. I'll simply keep using red light therapy and my face routine. With that said, my routine, which HAS helped the bags the most, is completely The Ordinary. I'm using their regular squalane cleanser (after using multiple others from CeraVe, Good Molecules, etc...), I use this Multi Peptide + Copper serum every day before putting the Aloe + NAG serum. NO moisturizer. ;) At night I was with the squalane cleanser and I put on the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. Again, NO moisturizer. For me, this routine is simple, it's cheap and best of all, it made an obvious difference in just 2-3 weeks. I used to get chalky under the eyes when I'd use things like Peter Thomas Roth, but now, I guess thanks to the Aloe/NAG and Peptide/Copper serums, these products glide on super easy and don't end up getting white spots or anything. So yeah, there are some straight dudes that do care for their skin lol, especially ones that sing in the public eye on weekends. Btw, I love the blue, it's my favorite color, so that may have played a role in me loving the Multi Peptide + Copper serum even more.
Thanks for the information, I've repurchased TO CP a few times and used it 1-2 times per week for over a year, without noticing it did much except maybe help with healing acne breakouts if i happened to have one. So I ordered Niod which I'll be starting soon. I may try Peach&Lily next. Also it took me until midway through the video when you discussed the blue color of CP that I made the connection you were dressed in blue for it, nice! 💧
Yay the CP video. I just ordered the Niod CP they are 50% off unheard of sale and the other stuff is 23% off from Niod and the ordinary. I still plan to try the PL one too. I just started liking the buffet serum it's one that had to grow on me .
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I haven't tried the Niod CP yet but ordered it, but love the SMD mist the survival 0 and Modulating Glucoside serum . I use the SMD mist everyday and Pennsmith said she is gonna start using it with LED mask she thinks it will be great. She made a recommendation video today and said that in it. I also think I want to order the Fractunated eye serum I have heard amazing things about that product too . I had never order the CP serum cause it's so expensive and durning the sale for 23% it usually sells out but I definitely snagged it and people swear by it so I really wanted to try . Ulta has the 10$ off 50$ right now that could be a good time to get the PL serum and like a nyx lipliner or something lol that equals 50$ . I do hate the smell of the buffet serum it smells like vinager yuck 🤮 but I feel like when I finally gave it a chance it gave good results .
I've been using The Ordinary version for a few months now, and at first I had the same reaction as your partner; I smelled a metallic, almost blood-like scent from the copper, but I quickly stopped noticing it. BTW love ❤ the lipstick or gloss you're wearing, I want it myself!!! Also, thanks for the info on screen, i took screen caps to read at my leisure!
Interesting comparison, I can see that since blood smells/tastes like iron (like when you bite your tongue) and the copper has that same metallic scent. The smell doesn't bother me (though it's unpleasant) but I can see how people can find that off-putting... could trigger like a visceral nausea for people more sensitive.
I didn't see that much difference with the buffet copper peptide from TO tbh... Now I'm using the copper peptide serum from Niche Beauty Lab (Theramid), it's 3% and my skin absolutely loves it ! I see an effect on my pores and my redness, almost gone !
This was so helpful! It’s so hard trying to read through marketing and figure out what’s going on with some of the stuff! I was healing from a surgery about two years ago so I decided to try the Niod copper peptides. I bought two bottles… I feel like it’s a good way to test copper peptides as an isolated ingredient, but I genuinely have no idea if it did anything to improve my skin (I used it all over my face) After that, I decided to try the ordinary and peach and lily. I LOVED the peach and lily but like you said, I kind of suspect that I would’ve loved it just as much without the copper peptides. Now I’m actually trying Dr Pickart’s super cop. Genuinely because it was more affordable than replacing the other two that I like and I definitely like this least because it actually makes my skin turn blue lol. Anyway, there is part of me that wants to incorporate it because I feel like I don’t know for sure that it’s not helping lol but I do feel like my money would be better spent investing in something like the peach and lily that has other benefits that are more guaranteed! The Niod was nice and absorbed quickly but if two bottles didn’t show me anything noticeable I’d be silly to purchase a third certainly unless or until more research comes out!
Oh wow this was so helpful, thank you for sharing your experience! Yeah I was thinking about it and realized that with the way Ulta does sales, p&l could actually be the best value - I’m not upset at all that it ended up my fav 😆
I'm using the needleless serum by dermatology. I believe it has copper peptides, anyway I'm loving it because it makes my skin so soft! Lots of goodies in it.
Hi Alice, I absolutely love your look (and your dedication) today and I LOVE your sense of humour, especially today! 😂 I’m interested to know just how many of your subscribers caught your joke and or understood where it comes from?! ❤ from 🇦🇺
Our favorite skincare science nerd is here, answering the questions I have every time I try to Google "wtf are copper peptides & what do they do"! Unrelated, but have you ever tried purito's sleeping mask? I've been trying to find the most recommended overnight mask, but it doesn't seem to be a popular topic of discussion! I've tried sulwhasoo's but I'm curious for recommendations.
The most recommended or the best? I’d say cosrx rice might be one of the most recommended, but it’s not my favorite (too light!) my personal fav is the chogongjin youngan Jin cream, not labeled as a sleeping mask but SUUUCH a nice occlusive!
I am currently trying out the Ordinary copper serum and I really like it. I have noticed a difference. I also noticed a difference with their regular without the copper, but I see more with the copper But I would like to try Peach and Lily, Niods, Dr. Pickard and It seems that Maelove is coming out with one next week. So I have a ways to go in seeing which one works the best for me. Also , thank you for the recommendation of Thank you Farmers Rice and gel moisturizer. Very nice. Still waiting on Missha's Chogongin Youngan cream that you spoke about. It was out of stock for weeks, but is on its way. I want to use it at night along with the Sosaeng essence. Okay, thank you.
I'm totally waiting and hoping the Peach & Lily Peptide Serum goes on sale somewhere.....On another product. Have you heard of the PURITO Deep Sea Droplet Serum? It sounds interesting...
I really like the Ordinary with copper. I like it a lot more than the Buffet. I’ve used Niod and I still like the Ordinary’s better. I wonder if some people’s skin needs copper more and so benefits more? I’ve used retinols forever and my skin seems to really like copper. I don’t mix. I use them on separate days.
My rosacea prone skin isn't a fan of TO's Copper Peptides, suspected that the % is too high and this video has pretty much confitrmed that. Looking forward to try P&L, the formulation looks awesome! Thanks Alice!!
I have a couple more days left on my DermaE peptide serum before I get to open my P&L. I’m probably going to pick up Stratia Interface when they do their sale to use with Lipid Gold as a moisturizer. I’m trying to pare down my serums to 1-2 instead of 3.
Okay, if we go over the top with Occam’s Razor, couldn’t much of the benefits stem from the peptide breaking down into some of the building blocks of collagen?
Knights who said Niod just made my day, thanks for that. I used up a bottle of copper peptides by Biossance, I wouldn’t call it ugly, but I didn’t see any improvements, my skin wasn’t at its best and it bugged me to find a place in my routine. I though something was wrong with me, because RU-vid was going crazy over copper peptides then.
Great video! I love the peach and lily serum, I will be stocking up Black Friday or when ulta gives me a good coupon? Do you think we can use CP with an antioxidant like bakuchiol or ubiquinone?
I would love to give a better answer than “I’m not sure”, but if you watch that interview, they asked Dr. Pickart about combinations and he answered, “stop putting so much stuff on your face!” Soooo. No good answers exist. Personally, I used CP at night and strong antioxidants in the morning. Easiest solution given the uncertainty!
Interesting video! I am on my 3rd bottle of the ordinary copper peptide and love it, but to be honest i have never tried the multipeptide one. Now i am wondering if i would get the same results for a cheaper price
LOVING the Peach & Lily! I also do enjoy Dr Pickarts CP Super Serum. I found they both help with healing after doing peels and post breakouts... But for P&L is definitely a fave have to agree. I like it far better than TO. I have tried and re tried TO and I'm fairly certain it actually irritates my skin if i use it too often. 😣 I will go a while without it and hear someone rave about it and try it again... But I think I've finally come to the conclusion my skin just isn't a fan. Love your outfit!! So fitting for the topic💙🥰
@@AliceintheRabbitHole dry and breakout prone🤣 such a special subsect of the skincare world lol .. I have yet to try a product that you've recommended and not love it so I tend to agree😆
I was told to try copper skincare products for my vitiligo. I have been using it for a few weeks, no change so far. I was using opzelura until my insurance no longer covered it and it costs thousands without it 😢
Last year I got the Ordinary’s copper peptides during the sale and I used it heavily after my TCA peels (I do 1/month in the winter). It really helped my skin recover.
I got mg Niod Cail today. My first use was amazing. My skin looked brighter and smooth. And half price it's also now patented. I love it. I'd buy more but the expiry dates are less than a year.
I do want to try that Peach & Lily Serum. I'm just hesitant because nothing I've ever bought from that brand has worked for me (either did nothing or ended up sensitizing my skin). I may give it a go eventually anyway. If it doesn't work, I'm closing the book on P&L. Also: Copper peptide hair realness.
Oh wow really!? That’s so funny to read, but I get it. I feel like some brands really click for each of us, while others are the opposite (ie I have done really well with Peach & Lily, can’t use Shiseido/Lancome!)
The only thing that has worked for me from P&L is their glass serum and Latic acid serum. My skin instantly reacted to their pro peptide moisturizer because of the bergamot oil. I never tried their matcha moisturizer because of the bergamot oil. The gel cleanser I used on my body because it also has bergamot oil lol I can't remember the name ( the face spray ) was nice but just not for me. The only issue I had with the retinal serum was the bright yellow. It turned me yellow and it stains fabrics. I ruined so many tee shirts. I did like their eye cream but I didn't notice a difference with wrinkles. The cleansing oil felt like water and too expensive. I'm really tempted to try this one because it doesn't have bergamot oil and I used Paula's Choice ingredient checker and it had no bad, worst or average ingredients. I think there was 2 that weren't rated and that just means they haven't researched those ingredients yet. All the other ingredients were either good or best. I have a $10 off coupon at Ulta so I'm really tempted to go for it.
Thanks Alice for saving me from bankruptcy 😅😅😅... I was tempted to buy the NIOD's copper peptide cream.... I already have a few serums that " contain " them but there's no percentage disclosed. Thanks again 👍👍😃
Speaking of copper peptides-if anyone cares Deciem is having their slowvember sale and Niods CAIS is 50% off. I randomly saw it on their website today. I love using CAIS when my barrier is damaged. Idk what else it does for me but it does help when my tretinoin has burned the ish out of my skin. I sort of don’t believe in peptides as much anymore unless they have a delivery mechanism to get into the skin. Like a lactic/glycolic acid copolymer otherwise it’s more of an expensive hydrator
@@AliceintheRabbitHolethank you 😊 I tried the ordinary multi peptide plus hyaluronic acid serum last night for the 1st time. I used it on my neck only lol I figured if my neck doesn't react than my face shouldn't. I used it this morning on my face and I did experience some stinging sensation. Not bad but I didn't like it lol I've read some comments that the ordinary copper peptide serum can cause stinging. Not sure if its true 🤔
@@AliceintheRabbitHoleoh but I forgot to say....I woke up this morning and I INSTANTLY noticed my neck felt silky smooth. I was shocked how soft my skin felt. I know it was the ordinary because it was the only new product I added to my routine.
@@AliceintheRabbitHoleI ordered the Peach and Lily copper peptide serum....30% off at ULTA 🥳 plus I picked up a backup of The Ordinary Multi Peptide plus Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I'm really loving it. I ended up using points I've been saving/hoarding lol so it cost me $0 🥳 I've been going back n forth between the P&L and TO copper peptide. I figured seeing how the P&L has a lower percentage of copper peptide I figured it would be the best place to start. Plus I'm gonna trust the reviews regarding the smell of TO copper peptide lol I know the new year is approaching and my new year's resolution is to only buy what I need. My biggest problem is SALES!!!! I told myself NO more than 1 backup and backups should only be for the products that I use twice a day every thing else purchase when I run out. And no more trying new products until I use up what I have. Thank you for recommending the P&L I can't wait to try it.
I went through 3 bottles of TO copper peptides. I really liked it, idk why I didn’t repurchase. I had just started a “real” skincare routine when I started with TO. I can’t say if it was the copper or taking care of my skin in general that helped 🤷🏻♀️
I’m new to copper peptides so I thought I would start with the Biossance squalane and copper peptide, for my sensitive dry skin. I wanna buy the ordinary copper peptides in the November sale but the smell is putting me off. Ps you look so pretty today 😍
I saw a video where a young lady said copper peptides turned her skin darker. I don't know if copper peptides affect skin of color differently 🤔 anyway, I'm still interested in trying it.
Oh wow I haven’t heard that. Tbh that has me feeling a bit concerned. I hope she stopped using it?? Sigh, really wish there were more human studies for this type of reason right here!!
This blue outfit was amazing, exactly copper blue 😄 I knew I should not have ordered this TO Copper Peptides Serum 😂 Just an expensive hydrating serum 😢 At least I paid only 25€ with slow November. And it is not like I did not know, I already tried this product. Shame on me. 🤣
I'm only on day 3 of using yhe TO copper pepptide. Smells weird yeah but it goes away. So far, i dont see any changes. Once empty, I'm probably not going to repurchase. There are other serums I am eyeing.
For reasons unknown I get rashes from the Ordinary's copper peptide serum, albeit not very strong, but still it itches. Weird enough, it's not the same reaction from the NIOD copper peptide serum - one would think it should be stronger and penetrate deeper as it is so runny, but no. So... who knows, maybe it's not the copper peptides but something else.
What I noticed in myself is copper peptides tend to break me out. Not with pustules but more like closed comedones, milia, and whiteheads. My theory is because copper peptides have the potential to increase keratinocyte cell proliferation, more dead skin is coming off making way for new cells. My skin is dryyyyy so I tend to use more occlusive moisturizers and the dead skin isn't sloughed off efficiently on it's own because it can't keep up with the amount of dead skin being pushed up by the new cells. You'd think just exfoliating more would help but I refuse to go beyond 3 days/week because beyond that my skin is more irritated and I get dermatitis. I think this is very much of example of a case-to-case scenario. I've used tretinoin for over 18 years (started in high school for acne/milia) but that doesn't affect me the same as copper peptides. So I stick with tret cuz it has the same benefits I want from copper but less side effects for me. Every time there's an exciting or promising ingredient or product, I always take a step back and realize tretinoin does all the things every skincare product claims to do but it has the data and research to back it up. I'm lucky that I can tolerate tret as I know many can't us it but I see why so many brands try to demonize tretinoin or retinol if they don't sell their own cuz they know their stuff can't compare. I just wish we had an alternative for sensitive skin that has the same data and backing as tret which I thought would be copper peptides but sadly, not for me. Love ya, Alice!
You actually stated one of the proposed theories for “copper peptide uglies”. And yeah, it could be a case-by-case situation indeed as others report the opposite (acne reduction) but - yep, that exists as a theory! I was getting a bit perturbed reading the “copper peptides are better than tret!!!1” articles. That’s just not what the study they keep citing says. CP performed better than tret in procollagen production, but tret was the winner in…pretty much everything else. So weird to see marketers take a study and really run with the wrong conclusions from it 😑
This is long so bear with me 😅 Let’s be honest, marketing is about selling a story, not facts. And nowadays there’s a huge market of consumers who like the “story” of science backed with data and cited sources. Marketing is just a positive word for manipulation. I feel like skincare has kinda reached its glass ceiling on innovation. We use the same ingredients for everything cuz they are proven to work. I approach skincare like” what can’t my skin naturally do on its own?” It’s case to case for everyone but the biggest example: our skin can’t block UV radiation on it’s own so we need a sunscreen. Idk if you know anything about Adipeau skincare and the founder Ivan Galanin but he’s the BIGGEST offender of cherry picking data. His product claims to help create new fat cells in certain areas of the face but literally that’s impossible for an over-the-counter product to do. His data on tretinoin his laughable, trying to state how tretinoin is basically a lie but HIS product is the answer to the problem. Consumers these days need a biology, marketing, and chemistry degree; a dermatology internship, and a certificate in facial anatomy from the Netherlands to be able to sift through all the BS we’re fed. If ya really want the results CP is touting, save up for a few tightening laser sessions and you won’t regret it. 🥰 but everyone needs to remember that aging is 5 pronged process. Bone, muscle, fat, fascia, and skin. Notice the first prong is bone but we tend to focus on the last 2-3. Without bone structure, the rest have no support to keep them lifted. See?!?!? Facial anatomy certificate. 😂
Lol about Niod. Penny just said they r on sale now 50% off now. Tempted to try since out of needless serum. Thanks lady for all your research. Love the copper blue theme.
Hi. Thanks for the honest and original approach. Everyone else out there is churning out the standard information. I got the NIOD eye contour whatever - full.price😢 - because I was impressed with the ingredient list and the promise of delivery. Used it religiously for a year. Absolutely no change in anything. Plan to sit out the copper peptide dance 😊 The HoWhoo and Missha products are weaving their own magic
Hello Alice, in my personal experience I have never seen benefits with copper peptides or any carrier peptides. I continue using them with the "promise" that throughout my life I will see some results. Now I have a question for you, why do you generally like peptides so much if we know that there are no human studies? I hope you are very well 😊
Happy to answer! At the least, we know they act as humectants, which are inarguably beneficial for the skin. At most, they may do much more! So for me, I look for overall affordable peptide options. If it turns out they don’t offer the additional benefits, I’m happy with the hydrated skin without breaking the bank ☺️
Spanish brand Theramid has 3% copper peptides serum. They are probably the first ones to have this high percentage. When they do actives they go really high with everything and I sill don't understand why
People get so mad that copper peptides “didn’t do anything,” aka didn’t erase their wrinkles. But (in my anecdotal experience) it’s so soothing and one of the few things that helps with redness.
Thank you for sharing! There are two things the industry doesn’t like admitting are HARD AS HECK to “treat”: hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. I am certain that if there was an easy fix for those, we would all know about it!
Copper peptides have worked incredibly well for exfoliating my skin. Years ago, I used to use a copper peptide serum that I don’t remember the name or percentage of, but it worked nicely to exfoliate and brighten my skin, then I tried the Platinum Skincare Gu-hk drops and it made my skin very smooth and bright. I’m interested in trying the new Mae Love copper peptide serum, but I want to see what others say before purchasing it.
CAIL works much better for me compared to CAIS (including the smell). CAIL has a much more pleasant smell. The issues are the price tag and the packaging 🙄
I really enjoy the encapsulated copper peptide that Stratia uses in Interface because I also have a strong dislike for the smell of The Ordinary's serum. 😂
Haa ha 🤓 Just came home from buying 5 bottles of Hylamide Subq at TK Maxx - to find this video. What a nice coincidence! Thank you Alice ❤ 2,5€ per bottle btw 🤑🤑🤑
I buy the Niod copper isolate each year durong the sale and then proceed to use it to sparingly (because it is so expensive) to see if it is actually worth it. My friend who uses it every other night swears it is what keeps her skin looking youthful despite working nightshift and having 2 kid
@@susan825 cool!! That's amazing it's 59 off like an idiot I order 2 of the 15 ml sizes and then noticed after when I ordered the 30 ml size it was 16$ more for the 2 15 ml bottles I was so mad !! I could have saved 16$ ..lol
NIOD is doing 50% off of their CAIS3 formula. If you liked the peach and lily I think you will LOVE the NIOD version. imo it is cut above all other copper peptides on the market. incredible formula.
@@ainakunigelyte under my eyes I have fine lines and this made a difference in softening them quite a lot. Not everyday. My am routine is 2 products 3 when it's really cold. It's usually a milky toner if very cold then serum then sunscreen. I alternate between niod survival 0, or copper peptide or vitamin c serum so I did not use it everyday
NIOD COPPER AMINO ISOLATE IS LITERALLU 50% off right now! The ordinary is 23% off. I’m guessing NIod did the 50% off due to a lot more CP products competing in the market.
i used Ordinary Copper peptide for 2 weeks, i got tanned, even though i applied sunscreen and home all the time. I don't think this it is good for brown skins.
