I heard of it Copper sulphate in a swimming pool to control algea. Not much information on it. Check out my pool. it is crystal clear and all I did was add some root killer I bought at Lowes. its about 8 bucks. i have spent hundreds of dollars on pool chemicals and this stuff works. I bought test stripes to test the ppm of copper. its below 1 ppm a 1/4 cup to a half cup in my 30000 gallon pool. I have used very little chlorine. You have to get your PH and Alkylinity right. I have one of the floating chlorinators but I get a 0 reading on chlorine in my water. I also have read that chlorine causes cancer. I dont think the pool chemical companies want us to know about putting copper in our swimming pool. I also think that copper is a by product of the salt water pool ionizers.. My theory is that that is one of the things salt water systems do is add copper to the water. I have not had an algea bloom all year. I have had yellow and green algea every year. I have bought algea killers floc water clearifier and everything else you can imagine. This stuff works. its kind of a pool hack.
