Elderly people occasionally try to use their age to con people out of their money... classic case! The contractor honoured every part of his obligation... its too bad that a good contractor had to go through this to get his money.

If this started on Sept 29th and he got back with a custom countertop in the 3rd week of November, that's not long. I've ordered custom counters, and they can take anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks, depending on materials.

You can’t return a CUSTOMIZED COUNTERTOP.. DUHH.. WHY DON’T THE JUDGE KNOW THAT.

Judge Milian always saying her family is contractors but a contractor knows that a custom made anything will take time. sept 29 - November is 6-8 weeks VERY STANDARD and not unreasonable.

Sometimes this judge irks me. I can't put my finger on it, but I have noticed with certain people she likes to talk to them like they are dumb. She knew what she was doing that's why she didn't tell her husband until after. And almost got him beat up😂😂😂😂.

The woman was well aware of her actions, and she's fortunate he didn't pursue a criminal case against her. Despite completing the flooring work, the man never received payment for his actual labor; only the money for the ordered countertop. It appears she hoped to get away with not compensating him for the additional work. Even though the countertop installation took longer than anticipated, she should have realized she was still obligated to pay for the other services rendered. Since the countertop was custom-ordered, there's no option to return it for a refund, leaving her responsible for its cost. The man had been generous, charging only $550 for the countertop. However, he made an error by commencing additional work without securing some form of payment. It would have been prudent to ensure she paid for materials and half the labor cost upfront before starting any further tasks.

For the defendant to have found another contractor to install another counter top means she must have contacted the new one weeks before he was able to do the work, because no contractor can come out to do a job at the drop of a hat, so that means that while the plaintiff was doing her floor in October, she was already contacting other contractors. She's a nasty person...

I don't know who comes up with names for the cases,but I give him/her 🏆🏆 for creativity!

The Plaintiff kept changing her mind how long it took to get a hold of him. The Defendant was NO better with remembering exact dates. I don't believe either of them in this case.

During Covid, the supply chain was horrible. My husband and I purchased a bar for our home and it took 4 months to arrive. Something like custom made countertop absolutely could take a few months pending production, materials, shipping, etc.

What part of he was being paid for the floor is the judge not understanding. All of that extra wasn’t even necessary because he was being paid for the floor which is the 550.

I don’t like how she doesn’t let him speak. This man did the work, pay the man.

Her response to the counter top was stupid. He didn’t mean switching it like a table cloth. He meant in 10 years they can use it then. Or if the new one chips. It’s not something he can just take back if it’s special order. And they paid for it so he gave it to them. If it’s so easy to deal with they can sell it. 🤷‍♂️

How does she get a custom made countertop for only $400, yet mine, which wasn't custom made and very common and in stock, was almost $900??? It's a laminate type counter. I don't get it!! She got off easy!!!

Giving a check then doing a stop payment is wrong, now i think she did it because he would not go and he intimidated her. I would not go that long without a sink and i would of never pay for work he didn't completed.

If they are old they have to be innocent, why else would you smile at the old woman and say that's illegal, you can't do that😁......that's the the judge!

What puzzles me is how do these people make any money charging such cheap prices? I never took on a job if I couldn't make at least $500.00 a day for labor. I would also charge an additional 20% markup on the materials if I had to buy those..

She lied so many times, on one hand she said she called once then when the judge said that wasn't enough she said she called several times. Followed by she waited 10 weeks then 7 weeks then 8 weeks, smh she's probably use to getting away with this behavior.
