I miss the days that the average citizen minded their own business, didn't try and rat everyone out like the Stazi, and even heckled or ruffled people to made others mind their own business.

I'd called wardens to have them issue a harassment ticket to the officers. Most game wardens in the states have more authority than beat cops.

Cops never know the regulations when it comes to hunting and fishing! I had a situation like this when I was dove hunting. I had 2 cops walk up on me with their guns pointed. Long story short they cuffed me, wrote me a ticket only for the game warden to show up and tell the cops they were wrong. But I still had to got to court to get the ticket dismissed.

We had problems like that in Washington state where property owners thought they owned the land that's too the river, but people are allowed 6 or 8 feet off the river. Some property owners came down with guns, and they were the ones that got in trouble! Nice fish!

"Can't restrict fishing but can restrict access to get to the river." In my state we have laws against that. The state has complete control over the waterways. If you are doing a legally protected activity, like fishing, the local gov can't restrict you access to that area.

When the police get off work they will be down there fishing too 🎣

Actually the law is the same here in the states. Even though there may be private property (or state/federal) on each side of any "running stream" as long as you are in the water, you AREN'T trespassing. I have seen it tested!

We have the same struggle in Texas. Navigable Streams and rivers are defined as the normal bank of the river when running and people think if there is no water it is off limits.! But no, the river is the river wet or dry.

Wardens are your best friend in situations like this, first contact with anyone interrupting you just get them out there.

Here's a small piece of BC's, we're fishing for fish so stop trying to net your ticket quota, documents covering streams: "Under this definition, not only the watercourse itself, but also the vegetated streamside area or riparian area which provide nutrients and shade to the stream, are recognized as fish and wildlife habitat. Watercourses, streams, ditches, ponds and wetlands that provide water, food or nutrients to fish-bearing streams are considered fish habitat, even if they do not contain fish or if they have only temporary or seasonal flows."

Fishing and dispersed camping should be given a damn pass. I do not comply with illegal orders. I camped on my own. In my car they I turned into a mini RV. Sure I have to buy groceries. But the fact they are open and everything is closed is a moot point. I even traveled through all of California, NV and traveled up the coast for fun. Tested negative. Being safe and anti social and the lockdowns are useless.

I went down fishing the river with my child. Had the gestapo rent a cops come harass me too. The prick walked away though when I gave him my RCMP badge number and sternly started asking questions. Know your rights, know your laws

Well done guys people have to stick up for our rights, if guys like you don't go out and exercise you rights we will all lose them. I live in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 we have the right to roam and wild camp some times you get challenged on this but if you know the law and done your research you can argue your case. You shouldn't need to do this but if some of us don't we will all suffer. Have went on walks on right of ways and gates have been padlocked, ok climb over but still send a email when i get home complaining, usually get results. Have had the same on the river clyde tidal weir where they don't want you to go through with a boat at nights or weekend cause they have reduced staff and no maintenance on shift😱 Eh NO we have right of passage and can only go on a high tide. It never ceases to amaze me how police turn up bark orders about things they have no idea about , threaten people act in an aggressive manner and when they find out they are the ones in the wrong they never apologise. They wonder why the public don’t like or trust them. Love the fishing.

i've had a similar problem. here in the southern US. here in my state, New Mexico, they closed down all the state parks and most of the good hiking areas. so basically every good camping site within a few hours of where i live has been closed to camping and day access for most of the last year. to make things worse, i live in the desert, so i only have 4 options for fishing. 1- the pond on the NMSU campus: campus is closed to everyone who isn't staff or student, and all common areas including the pond are closed to everyone. 2- the understocked pond at a local park: the whole park has been roped off for almost a full year. they recently took down the ropes and started allowing people in. i was fishing there for about an hour the other day and a security guard came up to me and told me the park was closed. when i pointed out that it was full of people walking their dogs, he said that it was ok to walk through the park, but not to stop and loiter. i pointed out the group of hippies sitting under a tree getting high less than 50 yards away, the 3 picnic tables full of people (8-10 per table) whos kids were all playing together, and the fact that the only one who had come within 20feet of me (im big and scary, and no one wants a fish hook in their ear) was him, and he was within 3 feet of me, not the minimum recommended 6feet. he handed me a piece of paper with a phone number on it and said if i wanted to i could call his supervisor, then he walked off to mess with the 1 other guy that was fishing and no one else. 3- the Rio Grande river that runs along the edge of my city: the water is shut off most of the year by closing a dam at one of the state parks about an hour and a half upstream. 4- state parks: closed for most of the last year. ***i bought a year camping pass in October 2019 ($200 or $100 if you're disabled) then the idiots in charge closed the state parks. the state parks refused to refund, partially refund, or extend camping and day passes. the state government doesn't care and will not assist the citizens like myself that have been screwed by this. o, and im disabled, living off of less than 1/2 of minimum wage, and not only do i use fishing to help save money on food, but it is one of my main forms of physical therapy and helps with my back, neck, shoulder, and knee. so to recap: im screwed, New Mexico 100% sucks, the state government doesn't care about the people, and i have decide to start buying the year camping pass and fishing license for Texas instead, because i feel like buying the New Mexico camping pass is almost the same as lighting my money on fire. but at least i would get a little bit of entertainment, and an interesting youtube video, out of burning my money. so im glad you found a loophole, because not being able to fish when you paid for licensees and permits really sucks.

Good God those cops were thick and should know their jurisdiction. I am glad my home state in the US allows anyone to be on any waterway, even during COVID. I have no issues being on water or even state parks. Sad that you guys have to do this even on crown land. Btw, this is about control not COVID. This video just shows that. They only stopped harrassing once they were told that they have no rights to do anything to you.
