Nothing will change about cops until we start getting real judges on the benches of the courts. I'm a retired attorney and in the last years of my practice, I was dismayed at the very low quality of and legal knowledge of the judges being put on the bench. Where I live, the judges are mostly the attorneys who were too bad to make it in private practice.
@WeWillSeeAUnicornFirst there's a body of law on the issue of whether he was acting "under color of law," which is one of the elements you have to proven in a Section 1983 case. So it depends...
I wonder if there is any body cam footage of the guy she had arrested for trying to reposes her car two years before this incident or how she sued the department for civil rights violations while violating others she has a rap sheet
I've totally lost all respect for anyone associated with law enforcement. It is the opposite of a noble profession. I have my own story. The worst was about 25 years ago. There was no footage back then. If you want to reduce crime, put half of the police if not more in prison. I will never forget or forgive. The lawyer I approached to take the case was running for a judicial position. It would have been bad for his election to the position if he was seen as suing the Nassau and Suffolk, New York police. Today, people know what they are all about as they continue to be exposed. Ex-police commissioner James Burke was just an example of the criminal and stupid police that still exist. The public will continue to prosecute them but that does my trauma no good. I will never forget or forgive.
The male cop was 100% correct when he said there is a group of people that feel that they don’t have to abide by the law. That group of people is COPS.
It's not just now. That's why the black community has been down on police for the last century. We're just getting a lot of videos now and America is realizing how bad it is.
So we All understand, there is no such thing, as a "sovereign citizen". That is actually an oxymoron, much like judeo-christian. judeo means jew, and there is no religion that is more anti-christ, than theirs, "judaism". Sovereign means king; citizen means slave. these are legal definitions.
Don't answer Questions, their trained to lie, they don't honor the Constitution they swore to hold!!!!!! Nothing but Oath Violators and Road Pirates!!!!! End Qualified Immunity!!!!!l
They're giving an "educational seminar" one person at a time to the public on "this is what you can expect when you exercise your constitutional rights."
I'm always amazed at how you give a person a badge and a gun, and all of a sudden, they become a supreme court justice who knows every law there is. END TYRANNY!
Sovereign citizens are people who think that the laws and the Constitution do not apply to them, that they are above the law, that they are a law unto themselves, so they habitually violate the law. In other words, cops.
Dude I will swear to uphold Satan for a job! Saying some crap speach is irrelevant. The problem is we the United States of America was once a Christian white nation. We are not, anymore! I think Jesus is a scam. So ask me to say so help me god😂 because It's a joke
Right, they tend to believe anybody who stands up for Constitutional protections is a kook in recent times. I used to scavenge books outside of library bins, with the full knowledge and permission of the libraries, but often busybody neighbors peaking out their windows would call the police and falsely claim I was "stealing" out of city garbage bins because I guess they were afraid I would do that with their garbage, which of course would be wrong. Each time police came they treated me like a criminal, didn't care that I had permission, and threatened to take me to jail for not showing my ID, and most of the time they waited until I put all the books back in the bin because they ignorantly believed it was already city property if it's on public property, and that somehow it's worth more being pulped with costly recycling than actual reusing, putting of it back into circulation (reselling to stores, or donating to charitable organizations). Although I only went to jail once, and most cops weren't thugs, they could not be reasoned with on basic rights and the law. I learned to never argue with police. Even if they aren't ignorant of all laws and statutes, it does no good most of the time.
Also she said I'm not coercing you, just after saying do it, or you'll go to jail. Then she said she wants him to go home safe that night. But took him to jail, lol.
"You have the right to not answer questions but if you exercise that right you're going to jail." Says it all right there about the current state of policing in America.
Yes! You took the thoughts right out my head.😊 She stated that if he stayed silent about his name, he would go to jail. She didn't like being referred to as a Nazi, then acts just like a Nazi.
I know right? If you normalize violence people have a hard time seeing it as such. They are so used to state violence and they have been using so many different terms for so long that no one can see it anymore. Taxes = theft, arrest = kidnapping.
Just like when they beat you they tell you to relax or force having a conversation with you an tell you they are not harassing you, real rapist type of mentalities thinking they have a right to force whatever they want on you
Absolutely. But the courts need to start working out this getting arrested for not providing ID issue. Hopefully some much more concrete law can come about that citizens, cops, everyone can understand and abide by if it's reasonable. But, that's just wishful thinking I know.
Cop: "You're not understanding." Dude: "But I have rights." Cop: "I know you have rights. If you choose to practice your rights, then I'll arrest you and take you to jail. I don't see what you don't understand." The irony is both mind-boggling and tragic.
The level of buffoonery from the sergeant (at least she SAYS she's a sergeant...she certainly meets the lowest standards to be one) is amazing! What the guys is saying IS the law; there's actually well established CASE law supporting everything he's saying (Reasonable, Articulable, Suspicion...is he suspected of having committed a crime, having KNOWLEDGE of a crime, eye witness to a crime, on his way to COMMIT a crime, etc.,). I think one of the MAIN reasons cops get their feelings hurt is (and let's look at this): although they LOVE their LOCAL "training" practices, statutes/ regulations / codes / procedures and policies, HIGHER law / Constitution usurps and / or DISPLCACES their little local stuff and they're POWERLESS in the face of that. You have a right to remain silent which is higher than the little local STATUTORY crap the sergeant is talking about: "if you exercise your right you will go to jail." Also (as the one lobotomy surviving cop was saying WITHOUT saying it: people are waking up more and more and more and studying their rights, knowing what their rights are, and EXERCISING these rights. Cops do not like it when you are informed, and you don't just lay there as a victim peeing on yourself in fear of them, but you speak up. Cops are taught at the academy and other forms of training that they get, to immediately take control of the scene when they get there. How can they take control of a scene when somebody is fully informed on the law, the constitution, perhaps even the uniform commercial code, and they speak up for themselves because they have the god-given and constitutionally protected right to do so? Cops HATE that. So when you speak up for yourself using the law that's available to you and don't CONFORM, the cops have to IMMEDIATELY ... Immediately resort to their training and tactics to regain control over you: "quit resisting", "you're obstructing justice", "your interfering in my investigation", "stop trying to reach for my gun", "stop looking at me in a threatening manner", etc., and just by using those words right there they will be supported by the police chief, Union, and the local city council when they injure you or paralyze you. And then the hemorrhoid (excuse me... the sergeant I meant) keeps saying "the guy still hasn't given me his name." Do you guys know if you live in a stop and ID state or not; and if you do not live in a stop and ID state, do you have to ID yourself to the police just because they asked you to? And... I never ONCE heard the guy call himself a "sovereign citizen" (another trick that the cops will use to label you in the system as a sovereign citizen, which means that you are an enemy of some sort), but the cop said it just because the guy is QUESTIONING them. If you stop, slow down, take the emotionalism out of it, and be truthful, all this guy is doing is questioning them! And the very act of him questioning them, is upsetting them to no end. Allegedly, this happened in 2016, and the guy is still upset about it to this day. Now I see why. Without Prejudice.
The irony of these cops saying they “understand there are a group of people who don’t feel like they have to abide by the laws” while breaking multiple laws is sad.
It's also ironic in that segment the cop says "She has every right to request your ID" whilst denying him his right to refuse to give it and remain silent.
@@zonian1966it sounds & looks like one of the top 3 states with horrendous police, a vile , science denying Governor, and as racist & redneck af!! I would rather live in Somalia than Florida, Texas, Idaho, in fact pretty much anywhere in the South!
I am a business owner in my town and I found out that the local police didn't have enough of a budget to get body cams, I offered to pay the entire cost so they could have them and the chief said they don't want them. That was the day I lost a lot of respect for my local police.
The only "penalty" they would get is suspension with pay. Which is basically a paid vacation. They never follow the laws that they enforce on everyone else.
What laws do they enforce? None. If you're arrested, it's because they _think_ you've broken a law. Whether you have or haven't, they haven't enforced anything. The only laws that are enforced are penalties for breaking other laws, and it's judges who enforce those.
@@timothymorrow2194 Yeah I think my favorite is when cops flock to a scene then stand around FOREVER! No wonder our government can't get shit done, as they blatantly waste our tax dollars... Pissing them away to enslave patriots!
The fact they lectured this man for 15+ minutes for no other purpose to try and get him to agree their unlawful actions were lawful infuriates me more than the unlawful ID demand itself.
Did you hear her? "You do have the right not to say anything; and if you choose to and take that right, then you end up in jail"....this is the systemic abuse of constitutional rights in this country.
If she would have said that in Texas she would at that point lose her qualified immunity. I would have immediately started screaming for an ambulance, and calling Johnny Cochrans brother. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
That lady police officer should be fired immediately, if not sooner. Everything she’s telling that gentleman is an absolute lie, she is violating his constitutional rights.
@DellikkilleD it's not 1 bad cop though. She interprets the law like that because she was taught to do so or higher ups refuse to correct such behavior.
I'm more worried about all her comments on "safety." She's afraid. She's afraid of policing alone. She's afraid of "scary" dudes with beards. She's afraid of doing her JOB, and sooner or later, she's going to shoot someone out of that fear.
"A cop with a firearm & qualified immunity" PLUS a low IQ talking to you is SCARY and threatening. A cop wanted to write me a ticket for littering cause I was delivering newspapers.
What argument? They immediately resort to force: threats or violence. That's all they understand. You can't argue with them unless you are willing to speak the only language they understand.
It’s the old saying, “arguing with a stupid person is like playing chess with a pigeon, no matter what you do they will just knock over the pieces, shit on the board, and walk away like they won the game anyway.”

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight, that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced, or objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.” Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” - Ayn Rand
It’s not a thing. Police have the obligation to act in a lawful manner. They can be charged with crimes. The only protection they have is to not have to fight civil lawsuits endlessly. But guess what if you’re rights are violated you can sue the department. Although there are arbitrary limits to the amount they can be sued for.
No really bc these mfers are so poorly educated and ignorant, it’s like why tf would anyone sit here and listen to y’all explain ANYTHING? Just take me to jail and skip the speech.
How long can you be held without charges in America? If the police fail to file charges within 48 hours, you might appear before a magistrate court judge. This appearance provides an opportunity for the judge to assess the case and identify any probable cause to hold you beyond that 48-hour window. FBI reporting shows more than 10 million arrests nationwide.
@@PaulBrown-uj5le thanks. The only problem is there are way too few of us. I recently watched a video regarding the results of our poor education system. It showed a series of young adults that could NOT answer the simplest of typical middle school/high school test questions. English, geography, civics, simple math, etc…they could answer none. Reminded me of “Jay Walking” with Jay Leno. Same thing only 10X worse. The “owners” as Carlin called them have done an excellent job of “dumbing down” the masses and brainwashing them using propaganda from The Nazi playbook. Someday in our distant future what is likely to happen is some kind of anarchy and/or civil war where we fight each other but NOT the true enemy (Carlin’s “Owners” reference). The police will be the “big stick” of the owners. After it’s all over and the smoke clears, the police, just like the Nazis at Nuremberg, will say, “We were just following orders.” The results will be just as they were at Nuremberg. The owners will have no problem letting the police take the fall. They can always recruit new blood. Just my opinion, but there is no viable future playing “the big stick” for “the owners.” They know the highest laws of our country. I continue to wonder how long it will be. I’ll probably be gone but my kids and grandkids will likely go through it. 😞
@@common.sense88 That really piss me off, too. "When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society. Over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." - Frédėric Bastiat
@@franklyanogre00000It's even worse. They could adjust the legal system. They could make rules to clarify when you need to ID yourself and when you don't. They could even make rules to make it necessary to follow their commands whenever they want. But they don't. They just _ignore_ the existing legal system and go by "whatever I say at that moment". I have, over time, made several comments on videos like that to present a comparison of the situation with the situation as it would occur in my country, Germany. Overall and in general, it seems that out German police has quite a bit more authority than the law allows the U.S. cops. But in the same way, we can more reliably expect our cops to _follow_ these rules, and situations here extremely rarely get to a level of the U.S. examples, where the police just ignores the rules and do what they want. Hurray for "freedom"!
@@Groffilihowever the liberal democratic parliament of 1920s Germany passed many laws and rules granting police strong authority over the public and private citizen. Often these rules were to keep order and be able to identify dangerous fringe groups and members they deemed a threat to their democracy and good order. “We got a call” means you got a hearsay allegation from some anonymous caller. Sure, you can investigate it, and you may be obligated to investigate it, but the FIRST step in the investigation is to CORROBORATE the allegation. Has any crime actually been committed, or is any crime actually in the process of being committed? If you can point to any articulable fact indicating a crime, and indicating that THIS person is the perpetrator, THEN you can detain them and demand ID.
They are INSANE about getting that ID. It’s like crack to a police officer. They have to have it, and they don’t care what laws; or rights they have to break to get it. Its WILD!

Apparently the constitution does not apply in Florida. SO if a woman officer goes out on a call, all she has to say is i'm in fear so there is no longer any constitutional rights ? You WILL obey or you WILL go to jail. WOW we're all in deep DOO DOO !!!
Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Police who violate people's constitutional rights need to be held financially responsible for crimes they commit while performing their duties.
Corrupt Police Unions and Qualified Immunity are what allow these blatant Civil Rights Violations to continue. These cops have NO SKIN IN THE GAME. They’re too lazy to educate themselves. I know more than each officer in this video and that’s scary. Watch some videos, ya bunch of slackers, and you just may learn what they fail to teach in the academy of clowns. Wonder if they think it’s ok to shoot you for not IDing. I wouldn’t be surprised after listening to all the crap they made up… ON CAMERA. Truly frightening to say the least. True tyranny in full color. Get an attorney and their crimes WILL PAY… YOU. Dummies without the crash.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse for us normal Americans (who get no training on the infinite laws in school) yet ignorance of the law is the main excuse for the "law enFORCEment officers" who we are forced to pay for.
I’m so sick of hearing “all you have to do” from these cops. Giving up your rights isn’t a small thing. There was a war fought and many gave their lives for us to have these rights.
Its crazy how many videos are on the internet that could teach cops the laws yet they refuse to learn. Remove qualified immunity and lets see how many bad officers quit, thx again John for sharing this video.
They should require officers to watch these videos that show them consistently violating our Constitutional Rights. Also, they're wrong. I'm a lifelong Floridian, and they had zero right to ask for his ID.
Florida is a “stop and identify “ state, but it does state that the reason for the stop must be articulated. No blanket “ ID first then tell the reason”.
As long as they enjoy qualified immunity it doesn't matter what training they have. They can do what they want and jerk people around on their whims. 1. They bank on people being ignorant of their rights. 2. They bank on people being too poor to follow up with a lawsuit. 3. They bank on their department, unions, prosecutors, and judges to back them up. 4. Qualified immunity gives them an excuse to be "wrong".
I don't think that would help. Having to bear the financial responsibility to hire a defense attorney out of one's own pocket and to have a guilty ruling from a judge for violating the constitutional rights of a citizen would empty most police forces after one case was successfully tried. Take away the money and being a cop becomes much less attractive - especially to cops like this one. It is sad to say that there are even more disgusting actions by police officers than this one where one's authority to act is questioned. That's why they carry a gun. It is the final judgement if the insult to them is substantial enough.
Lets call it like it is. "False arrest" is really KIDNAPPING. Which is a FELONY, even if a prosecutor will need to be dragged kicking and screaming to charge it.

The gaslighting these cops are doing in this video is INSANE. This is video proof they have no idea what the Bill of Rights is, despite the fact they swore an oath to uphold those rights. They even made this man go through a mental evaluation because he had the audacity to stand up for his constitutional rights; a concept these cops are incapable of understanding, so they automatically thought he was mentally ill.
With him standing up for his constitutional rights the tyrannical cops also decided that he believed that he was a sovereign citizen. At no point in the video was sovereign citizenship claimed.

Police officers have NO SPECIAL RIGHTS, they have a limited authority to perform specific duties. I cringe every time these tyrants claim rights for police that don't exist.
Very true, but until the Supreme Court stops letting cops violate citizens constitutional rights in the name of "officer safety" they will continue to act like they have special rights because they are enabled to.
Yep. Qualified Immunity provides a basis for law enforcement to abuse their power. Gives them a special right to do so. Like civil asset forfeiture. That's my point. @@mr.grimmmm6493

I guess I'm lucky & maybe in an isolated group of people who live in a small town where the police are very nice, know the Constitution, they will not pull you over just to harass you. If you exceed the speed limit by more than 10, or act really stupid & draw attention, they will talk to you. How do I know this? I've spoken to every officer, the sergeant, the dispatch personnel by meeting & talking with them at convenience stores. There's other small towns that I pass through where the cops are exactly the same way: Be stupid & they'll notice. For the most part, police are just like you and me. I am originally from a very large city & never had issues with the police. Now I see many videos of police misconduct. Maybe the answer lies within the fact that for a period of time the police were mistreated in general because of the George Floyd incident & a lot of good cops left the force & now we have many who don't know the rules?
