That was indeed a recast war egg! fixing up a few for a friend that had missing pieces so I thought I’d cast a whole one … and yes it was so much easier gluing the recast than the nightmares that are the lead figures 😂
I mostly use pins on smaller pieces like maces/swords to give some extra strength when they are overly thin, I find it works well, glad you like the vid!
Tip from an old Dog when dealing with Blue Stuff: If you make a 2-part mold, put the first part in the freezer for 30 minutes and then put the 2nd part on top and put it back in the freezer to cool down. So the 2 halves can be easily separated
Great tip, I leave the first half to cool for a fair while, I have done the fridge method before but to be honest (and this will make me sound super lazy) I can never be bothered to walk downstairs to put it in (hobby room is upstairs in the house!) probably should as it does give better results.
😂😂 my wife would give me too much side eye if I did that 😂 When we bought this house as well as getting the kids bigger rooms the main aim was getting all my toys out of the living room/kitchen etc!
My dad bought a Baneblade from forgeworld a few years ago but part of it snapped, and he was gutted. I got a regular Baneblade but wanted to fix his and I had never heard of blue stuff until now! Fantastic video thanks for the inspiration!
Thats odd, i just re-started making copies of the old Ork arms again (because f**k spending £30 for them) and then suddenly im getting a lot of these types of shorts recommended to me. Good video though 👍
That’s how I started using blue stuff a few years ago, quickly progressed to using it in lots of conversion projects, I personally don’t use it for full models though.
Fair enough, I personally love it, that’s what makes the hobby great is that we all do things differently and there’s no right or wrong way to hobby! I find the more I work with blue stuff the easier and easier it gets and even after using it for years I’ll still pick up new tips.
I have many times considered a 3D printer, my issue would be the 3D modelling skills needed to generate the part to print, someday I will probably bite the bullet but for me this is still a great way of getting extra parts.
