Nothing left of NASCAR but history.

NASCAR is a failing corporation for exactly this kind of 💩. They're playing the blame game instead of being fired.

I used to be an avid NASCAR fan. Lost interest in the early 90's, they couldn't pay me to watch a race now.

I was a big supporter of NOCAR for 30 years and have not watched a single race for the last 22. One more reason to boycott them.

NASCRAP needs to stop sucking at everything they do. They singlehandedly ruined the once great sport of auto racing LOOOOOONG ago. They will never see a dime of mine.

It's nice to see that nascar has nothing better to do than bother people talking about them. They need to go back to roots and get rid of the cookie cutters.

It basically shows 2 things. NASCAR is still scared of the 351 Cleveland and they have no idea how to promote or connect with their fan base.

NASCAR needs to worry and work on getting fans back that they have lost in the past 20 years!

Andy, I enjoyed the 351C video very much it was informative and riight up my alley as a Ford fan. I'm sorry NASCAR is taking such a stand with you. It's non-sense and hurts their image. Keep on making the quality material and take care.

Hey, you're not alone on the bs copyright crap here on YT. I got popped for one of my vids where I'm walking through a motorcycle museum and there was a radio playing inside it of which I had zero control of. You could barely hear it, it wasn't even close to being the whole song, and I was talking over it. I challenged the strike yet RU-vid sided with the owner of said music (it was literally a musician/band I had never even heard of) and all future earning from that vid would go to the copyright owner. Luckily, I'm not a monetized channel but, if and when I do become one, I will delete that vid in a heartbeat to keep that artist, or whomever gets the money, from ever getting one red cent from my work.

Andy, I have gone back and forth with doing history video in regards to Mr Norm. Many reasons I decided against, but what just happened to you, is the biggest reason I said no. Sad, when stuff like this happens

I have pulled a couple videos down due to the same thing. I used music that was part of a program that I have that's for the users to use and still got the Copyright Claim. I now only use my own music if I use music. Keep up the good work Andy !!

I stopped watching nascar about 20 years ago. It went massively downhill once fox started broadcasting it, and with Dale dying in their first race, it just was never the same. I thought it was still cool in the late '90s though, and even attended the 1998 Brickyard 400.

As another viewer stated, the only thing left that's good about nascar, is the history. I'm not even going to list the reasons why I turned my back entirely on nascar many years ago, because all of the lifelong, diehard nascar fans already know the reasons, and they too, have quit watching nascar cup racing altogether. Everything about nascar is failing, so this greedy move of making copyright strikes is no surprise.

I was interested in the channel from the beginning and the more that you added the more it vacuumed me in . The historic videos was just the creme on the top for me because not only am I a great Ford Performance guy, the carburetor, and the motor building nut, but ever since I was a youngster in the middle 70's I was always sucking up history and historical events not only in school but with the older people who were in the wars and the ones that helped build and expand our nation as we know it today. Nothing like a first hand experience with the people who were there and had to live it, survived it, and just plain acted like their heroic acts and feats of engineering that they were part of and really thought nothing about it and then just enjoyed the family and friends that was America back then.

Nascar lost me several years ago with what they are doing and after hearing your story I'm even farther away.

Andy, I'm so sorry for the NUSCAR bs acts against you. I love your channel and watch every episode I can find, keep up the great work. I've been involved with NUSCAR since the mid '50s, (81 yrs.young!), I've been a builder, driver, owner, and crew chief. After Dale died in 2001 Nuscar changed and down the hill she tumbled! I drag raced from 1957 to 1966 and quit due to screwy rule changes. Went back to drag racing in 2001 with my Fox Body Mustang 5.0, love every minute of it. I now have an '84 Stang that I built. All stock FOMOCO parts except Holley and headers and I run 11.20s at 124 mph. Mucho fun for old guy with a 5 speed 3 pedal car! I'm sure some of us 36k subscribers will help you if needed to stomp this frivalous copyright BS. Keep on Keepin on.

The first race I ever sat down to watch was when Dale Sr. died. It seemed to continue going downhill at an accelerated pace after that. Once Tony Stewart was out, I lost interest. There wasn't much left to see.

Andy, similar thing happened to Kevin Smith (KSR), by the same organization. He also disputed it and won. It seems they have a robot just scanning for any reference to them, and then firing off violation notices. It sucks, but the good news is that if you challenge it, you will almost certainly win. I don’t think you even need to worry about preparing a unique response for each “violation”: just recycle the same ‘fair use’ defence response each time.

NASCAR is going down hill and they ruined it and I hate to say it , I don't have any interest in the way it is now, but I would love to see it go back to the way it was. It's all about the money 💰 and the people who are in power of running it having to have it done the way they like it and not the way the people who used to get tickets and go to the races multiple times a year like we used to. When they cranked the prices through the roof, kicked the little guy out, made it almost impossible for the little guy to get in and compete in the series, and the crazy way they do everything else now just doesn't do it for me like the old school teams and team work with them helping each other sometimes was the way I remember it and liked and enjoyed watching it. For you Andy the historic videos you have done were awesome and top notch as far as I am concerned, I believe that NASCAR is just showing it's true colors of today's junk way of how they do things and the greedy way they are by picking on a guy like you that is doing nothing besides showing how they grew, got better and was a great pass time staple of America until it gets to the way it is now. Talking about music related stuff, the channel 'Real Good at doin stuff' , the guy from there actually makes his own original music for pretty much every second video he puts out with the kinda sense of a humour I like. I saw another guy who got a copyright hit from showing 20 seconds of a drag race (because NASCAR actually mandated certain forms of Drag Racing up to a certain time) They must be automatic strikes under an algorhythm, because he appealed it and won, but then 2 days later he had another claim on the same video by the same person/group.

Real sorry to hear N.Media is doing that. I really find your historical videos educational, your inquisitive nature turns up information we probably wouldn’t see otherwise. May have to come to some arrangement to let them preview your history releases. I enjoy them and darn sure I’m not alone.

Andy, some pocket-protector-wearing junior accountant is trying to make his "bones" by figuring out an alternative revenue stream for a flailing Nascar. The organization is going through a rebellion by many of its top teams, and they're running scared. It's a pain in the butt, but if you contest it, they will back off. It's those who "just let it go" that allow them to profit from your work. I've seen the videos you have uploaded and none of them should legitimately be upheld by RU-vid in favor of Nascar. Keep your chin up!

Andy, your videos are always informative I've followed your mixed up boss and Casper videos, tunnel ram, Holley carb,ECT. It's helped me with my 393 Cleveland tunnel ram build, it's amazing NASCAR banned the Cleveland and 50 years later they are bothering ppl talking about it's history,, Thanks and keep up with the informational videos, !!!

I had a goal of Starting an ARCA team back in the late 90's , but due to the changes in the sport. I went drag racing and don't even watch nascar anymore. I might go to a local dirt track once a year. Keep up the tunnel ram videos.

It’s not about getting the money you made. You were correct in the beginning of the video, it’s about the telling of history. They want to control the narrative, an “official history if you will”. Think about what this means and decide how you want to support that organization.

I'm sad to say I grew up watching stock car racing. But when the cars became tube chassis, engine of tomorrow, and basically are all identical, my interest died. I understand times change, but NASCAR has no interest for me. It's was great when a Mopar, Ford, Pontiac, Chevy competed with their own automobiles, engines & transmissions, but holds zero interest now. Just another reason to forget NASCAR.

As far as NASCAR goes, it used to be a bunch of good old boys driving fast and turning left, Now it's a bunch of DEI hires who don't know what shine is. NASCAR just confirmed what I’ve known about their organization for years. I started watching races in the late 70’s when I got cable TV. I watched all the shoebox GM cars dominate for several years because of the aftermarket support for the small block Chevy. The Ford teams were trying to compete with junkyard parts basically. Then Ford decided to start making HP parts for the 351C. Almost simultaneously the aerodynamically superior of 1983 entered competition. A combination that caught NASCAR off guard. When Ernie Elliott applied swirl technology to the new Ford Motorsports aluminum heads and got the new T-Bird body dialed in there was no stopping the #9 Coors Ford. NASCAR was furious! After the first 3 or 4 races of the 1985 season you could just about count on another rules change at every race aimed at slowing the Elliotts down. The GM teams got to set the pace with no restrictions on their stuff and if the Ford teams couldn’t keep up, too bad. But that didn’t apply when the Ford teams started winning. Instead of Ford being able to dominate as they had allowed the GM teams to do, the Ford teams were penalized to keep “parity” in the sport. That’s when it wasn’t about fairness in competition, it was about who stroked the powers that be at NASCAR. Ford didn’t play that game and GM played it very well. Nothing new. NHRA did the same thing in Pro Stock drag racing. And even in top fuel and funny car when the Ford cammers posed a serious threat to the Chrysler Hemis. Guess that’s why I have very little respect for either organization. Good luck with the assholes at NASCAR Andy. I’m pulling for you just like I’ve pulled for all the underdog Ford racing teams for the last 50 years.

This is the case for a lot of different hobbies. Nintendo consistently copywrite strikes small channels. The gaming industry is really bad with copywrite and unique IP infringement. Fortunately as some others have said, companies like NASCAR who do mass copywrite strikes usually lose the appeal and get a reputation for such making it easier for the content creator.

NASCAR lost my interest when they started to glamorize the drivers instead of the racing, starting with Jeff Gordon. They used his charm and good looks to try to attract women to watching, but all that did was drive people away because they got tired of hearing about the guy. At least I know I did. I won't even go down the Danica Patrick rabbit hole.

I’ve had copyright strikes hit a few of my videos for claims against music in a video and it was background music from another vehicle and nothing I did. It’s just BS and a grab to me. I’m making videos for the hell of it, not as some big making money scheme lol

I must’ve missed this one Andy, I really hate that you’re having to deal with this because I have truly enjoyed all the history videos you’ve made like winged warrior which was one of my favorites! I struggle to understand why any representative of nascar would even consider attacking you when it’s very clear that you were paying respect and homage to the organization. You know Andy, it’s really sad that so many great organizations that we grew up with have lost their way-they’ve really forgotten the fans who made them into what they are! Hey Beau, remember all of this is generated by an algorithm, no people involved " fair use", "educational" mean nonprofit. Since they allowed you to use it you can see that it went to a person for review. This is part of the game, like it or not, RU-vid is a private company and they don't want copyright suits. Hi Andy, So sorry that you're going through this. I love your channel. The detail you put in your videos is great. I guess all I have to say is fight the fine fight and keep doing what you are doing.

If someone invents something new and gets a patent, I believe the patent has a lifespan of 20 years. After 20 years, the technology becomes "public domain", anyone can use it without paying royalties. I have always felt that similar should apply to music or other copyrighted material. The artist of author should have a reasonable timeframe to profit from their creation. I believe that presently the copyright law provides exclusivity that lasts the life of the author plus 70 years. When someone records a song that is a hit, and 50 or 100 years later an investment group is suing people it is just plain wrong IMO. The artist should have some reasonable timeframe to enjoy exclusive control over the use of their creation, after which it becomes public domain. You record a video in your car with the radio on, in the background a song plays. That causes you to be legally liable? Come on!

Thx. Nascar has been a mess for 10-12 years. They are so greedy that they resort to suvh tactics as you have described. Personally, I don't attend or support nascar for last several years. I don't subscribe to TV and when I saw nascar event posted on my laptop and wifi service that I pay for, it had a large ad blocking centre of picture. So I don;t watch it here either. Instead I enjoy other racing forms that add to my pleasant race demeaner. 😎😎

Hey Andy, watching your video, I'm reminded that there is another RU-vidr who has went through a very very similar situation. His videos are getting hit with this same copyright infringement by NASCAR. His channel is called slap shoes. Look it up. He has a video on this very particular subject and he goes on to say that the there is bots a computer algorithm that is checking these videos and is noting them as copyright infringement. But I agree with you. I'm a RU-vidr myself and I've had some copyright infringement performed on me and it was not right and I've been looking through your comment section here and I agree with you and everybody else that NASCAR is no longer relatable they have lost a lot of their core viewers and core fans which puts them in a position where they're at today which is not good. I myself have not seen a NASCAR race since very late. 90s very early 2000s and I'm not interested in watching really the newer stuff at all

NASCAR or other similar media/copyright owners may feel forced to make these claims otherwise they run the risk of loosing control of their properties. Could it even be Netflix with their new huge deal with NASCAR wanting to silence anyone else taking about NASCAR? But, as you point out, your videos give them free positive publicity that can help generate new NASCAR fans. Hopefully they will see the negative pub being generated and back-off.

I watched and followed nascar from the 70s until til 2001. We have not followed a race in many years. The bits a see pop up on the internet it looks like a big clown show. It is a shame they take from someone as yourself. Big corporation. The rich get richer. The content on your channel is the best.

NASCAR died when we lost Dale Earnhardt at Daytona. It has had no entertainment value to me ever since and that was the last time I watched a race. That being said, it is sad that they have stooped to this level. Anyone that knows you, your intentions and your love of our automotive history would not be bullying you like this with these frivolous claims! What really sucks is they sound the alarm knowing the work and the burden of proof is on you! Are they trying to wear you down with this form of bullying...who knows. Too bad youtube doesn't punish them for making multiple claims and continually losing them! Like a lawsuit where the loser pays the other guys fees! Keep up the great work Andy!

Soon there'll be a copyright claim on the use of the word copyright. Ford - ooops Copyright claim. I put an Edelbrock intake on my Mopar, copyright claim on Mopar & Edelbrock. RU-vid will untenable you won't be able to mention brand names if you're monetizing vids. Re Music and copyright have a read of this: There was a famous copyright claim from the Aussie band Men at Work. In the song Down Under there was a flute tune at the beginning that might possibly have sounded like a well known Australian children's tune Kookaburra Sits in/on the Old Gum Tree from 1934. Down Under hit No.1 in the US in January 1983. Kookaburra Sits etc remained unregistered 41 years from 1934 until 1975 when the owner had to register it even though she had no interest in royalties proclaiming, "`It came to me from above, I don’t own it’.” The right holder to Kookaburra Sits, dies in 1988. So in 1990, a record publishing company purchased the rights to the tune from her deceased estate, then set about pursuing unfair use of the tune from people/organizations that incorrectly assumed it was in the public domain. Fast forward 17 years (2007), on a music based TV quiz show on the national broadcaster, the signature Down Under flute tune was played and the contestants were asked what is the flute based tune based on? The answer was Kookaburra Sits etc. Next thing you know the copyright holder sued the band for breach of copyright and won $100,000. They wanted royalties totaling 60% of song royalties since the song started making royalties, forcing the legal case - even though the song pre dated the purchase of the rights of the tune by about 9 years. The legal fees both sides paid collectively were $4.5m over a paltry $100,000. A lawyers picnic. The only people that made money out of this were the bottom dwelling scum sucking lawyers. I suppose society needs them LOL. It's out of control.

Hey Andy, Hope all is well. It’s unfortunate to hear you are getting all this trouble from NASCAR. I just want to help you since I have a law background. With YT becoming as popular as it is, huge companies are looking for ways to protect their products in all ways. The sticking point is that you are making money on their content. Intellectual Properties is a tough part of law that can be very difficult to work around. To put it as simple as possible, Huge companies are combing to see if others are making money off their “property “. It will just get tougher as time goes on. “Educational “ means to them, not making money off it. Once you get on their radar they will just keep going after you. Big Corporate against the little guy. I had to deal with this issue on a video of mine. It was a video of me getting started working on my son’s old 91 Sonoma, that he rod knocked. So I thought It would be funny when I was showing the knocking motor running with a short song clip of the classic song by Dave Edmonds “I hear you knocking”. It was done as a parody, which is supposed to be allowed. Well guess what. I got a little notification shortly after the video was released, it had been flagged. So I had to do the whole appeal process, I think it was BMI, it’s been a while ago now. I decided after that to just stay away from any copyright music. I mean, yeah I get it, but it was less than 10 seconds of a song, played over the top of a running knocking engine. 🤷‍♂️ Again I get it, but come on, let’s be real, how much money do they stand to make for me using a tiny little clip??

So how do these channels that put up entire copyrighted songs and films get away with it?

I suggest that in the coarse of presenting / arguing your intent, I’d suggest always referring to your intent as historic preservation and educational. That’s unless you intend to start “rapping”, and that apparently making it ok, to “sample”, aka, rip off other peoples shit…

Yeah I got popped on a couple videos for copywrite claims. But I'm not monetized yet and actually a long ways from it. I'll probably go back and save the video delete them and then re-upload them without the music that was in them. I don't use much music anymore. And it's probably the use of the name Nascar they have a complaint about.

Ironically, NASCAR is offering lots of "classic" content online royalty free. They seem to be cherry picking who they are going after for content violations.
