Finally after so many years of waiting I found this CORE that provides RPG framework!!! this can help people like me who is noob and no freaking idea about coding, thank you CORE GAMES!!!!!
There's alot cool features , but its also limited. if you can't import assets and only build with those included! It seems very handy though and nice. Questions : can you change and modify the scripts? can you make your own UI ? are we going to be able to import our own assets in the future? If the answer is yes, i might have to look and learn a few things about Core. If not, then its just an engine to make simple games, maybe learn basic game developement or just have fun with it.
Not to be "That guy" but creating a "MMORPG" is going to be very difficult when the restriction is 16 concurrent players. (Future plans for 32, but still) [per instance]
this question is aimed toward the players that make games using core engine , how realistic is to "remake" an mmo experience for playing with friends? examples: remaking a Lineage2 1v1 olympiad with close to identical classes making a Wow 5v5 arena making a moba style game with characters and gameplay from an existing mmo
if you make a game with core can you publish it as a standalone or does it have to stay inside some core launcher ammassed with a list of thousands of other games made with core?
Manticore, can you make all the games you've made available as frameworks or editable? Would love to look into how you made the other stuff to get going with game creation. From what I've seen, learning FPS's, RPGs aren't a problem as the frameworks and tutorials seem to be geared towards that. But for something like Mergelandia or Breaklandia, I dont even know where to get started
Yes! We try to release all of our games made in-house as open source so anyone can dive in an see how they work. Mergelandia is currently open for editing (search "Mergelandia" in the Community Projects section under the Create tab). If a game isn't available open source it's usually because we're working on organizing and polishing the project so it follows our best practices. :)
@@CoreGamesOfficial Yep already saw and opened Mergelandia. Hope Breaklandia comes soon. I have at least 2 games in mind that will put systems in a breakout type game to use.
Check out this tutorial by one of our creators, it should cover what you need to know about changing a player's appearance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4GA1YEmqcm4.html
Very possible - you can create multiple game worlds and link them together. Check out our Dungeon Crawler framework for a good RPG starting base. New Lumeria is an example of an open world RPG on Core already: www.coregames.com/games/2bab4d/dnd-new-lumeria-stillwater
1. This cannot help with some skylanders projects, will it? Like the portal connection? 2. Could this work with VR? 3. With all do respect.. Easy i get but, there are times when we need to code. But we need to remember the coding lessons. Savvy?
We're fairly new! Core entered closed alpha a little less than a year ago. It's PC only for now but we do plan to expand to mobile and console in the future. :)
