Hi, thanks for your comment. I know it can be hard to decide in some cases on which floor to go with, so many good options out there. LVP can be install in from of fireplace but depends how well protected the fireplace is, is it a gas fireplace, wood or electric? Also keep in mind some home inspection laws at time of selling the home might require to have a hard surface in front of your fireplace such as tile flooring before selling the home and that is where tile might be the winner

That's a great question and we hope our answer helps you and many more. If you really want to install a similar floor over your tile you can. The extra work that would need to be done is as follows and has to do with carpet area. We would pull carpet back about 8 foot away from the tile, remove the carpet tackstrips that are close to tile areas, build up a ramp from 8 foot away to the top of the tile using almost any type of floor, after the new laminate or vinyl plank is install you can install the End Cap or Carpet Transition strip where your new floor ends and then install the new carpet tackstrips, tuck your carpet against your transition piece and you are done. Make sure to leave a 1/4" space on any cabinets or baseboards.

@@JulianFlooring Hmm I forgot to mention that I want to remove the carpet from the living room and put laminate floor from living room all the way to kitchen floor. So you suggest to slowly increase the heigh from 8ft away to the top of the tile then laminate all over tiles? I had a contractor over and he said he could cut the tile as close as the base of the cabinet and use transition piece between laminate/ tile. What would be the problem with the second approach? (one I see is that it'll show strip lines everywhere at the base)

We normally do all trim or wall painting at the end and has work for us great and I think it'll work for you too. After we are install all the floors and are done with trim installation we cover 100% of the flooring with builders paper and at the ends you'll enjoy removing that paper on the floor and you'll be done, nothing to clean

We used a product from DAP KWIK SEAL ULTRA. We apply it after molding has been painted

Hi Kristine, the step risers are just regular wood pine, sanded and primed. We then cut the pieces to the width of each step and used the stair nosing that CoREtec sells that goes in front of the step to give a bullnose look. Before installing the CoREtec on each step we applied a bead of liquid nails and proceed to install the planks on top and last we went ahead and painted the risers

Engeneer wood flooring,, always wood 💯... 90 % of the floors I install is LVP,, IN costumers house

Do you still feel the same? This rigid cortec maybe good for high traffic, kids, pets since it is waterproof, plus cork on bottom layer helps sound proof and keep bugs away.

Carpets can be allergins and hard to clean. Maybe they wanted to update their home.
