Re-released in 1968 was the 'new' James Bond Aston Martin DB5 No. 270 painted this time in metallic silver to match the film version and incorporating not only the Q goodies from the previous model, but also rotating number plates and rear tyre cutters. The packaging was also updated. As before, the plinth contained the 'Secret Instructions'. The bumpers and grill were separate castings, and the fuel filler caps and rear lights were now revised. At the time of its launch in February 1968, the C270 was on sale for 11 pence. In 1971 the price was 68 pence and in August 1975 the price of the car rose to £1.15. My copy was given to me by a friend. He was probably preparing it for restoration, as the Aston had been reamed and had some spare parts bought to fill in the gaps.
